Tar will spend time and XP trying to recuperate fully from his injuries. Tangling with those lions was probably a bit too zealous of a task for now, at least without some better weapons or armor. He will have to think about how to improve equipment before he tangles with them again. Maybe he can figure out how to shear some fur off those goats.

Constructlings (Year 2, month 6, week 3)

Post by Nerre » Fri Feb 07, 2014 3:43 am

Year 2, month 6, week 3:
"All characters heal 1 hp."

Events:
- everybody injured recovers 1 hp.

Image

Bob:
Bob uses the waiting time for Kach freeing him to take care of his wounds. He notices the little red being curiously gets closer and watches him from behind a little edge.

Chopper:
Chopper gives his hatched to worker 3 and takes over working the saw with worker 1. Together, they manage to cut up 8 blocks of wood, gaining 38 lumber. When they cut of parts of the log, the fallen tree so far hanging a bit over the water falls into it and the floats there. Cause of the many branches stuck in the lakeside on the right, it does not even rotate while the goblins walks on it.

Kach:
Kach starts mining a tunnel towards Bob, destroying 4 stone and mining two into 4 construction stone.

Mint:
Mint removes branches from the log, gaining 4 lumber.

Tar:
Tar climbs up to the goats, but he notices he will need something sharper then the tools they have so far. Even a hatchet would not work.

Zaul:
Zaul climbs down and reaches the green stones this turn. They look like colored glass.

Worker 1:
Worker 1 cuts up the log with Chopper. They gain 38 lumber.

Worker 2:
Worker 2 mines 1 iron and 2 construction stone.

Worker 3:
Worker 3 removes branches from the log, gaining 4 lumber.

Hobgoblin Hgon:
Hgon tries to let the iron run into the mould, but he fails and burns himself for 1 hp. After it cooled down, he picks up the iron and throws it into the furnance so it can melt again.

Discoveries:

Information:
- 7 constructlings eat this turn (5 players, 2 NPC). Worker 2 eats this turn. The hobgoblin eats. 10 food is consumed.

Zaul mines green stones. After getting some, he inspects material's physical atributes: density (est. weight/volume, compare to known materials), hardness (scratch surrounding rock), brittleness and elasticity (try to bend/crush it by hand, throw it at a wall).

There is something wrong with info on furnaces.

Chopper continues cutting up the log with Workers 1 and 3, putting some extra effort into the work and keeping an eye out for anything out of the ordinary.

Spend a SA while cutting the tree to notice anything out of the ordinary.

Kach continues to try and free Bob

vote that worker 1 makes a solid wood block for a makeshift anvil!

worker 2 continues mining
worker 3 continues getting fire wood.
Hgon makes a hammer for Kach

and I vote that any player who do not take an action this week tries to make a fish farm!

Wood is really terrible anvil material. Better use stone.
And "make a fish farm" seems too uncertain. Probably you will get response along the lines "X wanted to make a fish farm, but couldn't decide where to start.".

Vote for worker 1 to use stone for an anvil. See below.

Bob will crouch down to the lizardish creature, taking the piece of food he has and offers it to the creature. "Hello there little guy, you seem hungry. Maybe you want to eat this?" he says, trying to tame the thing. If it attacks, Bob will attack back.

Constructlings (Year 2, month 7, week 1)

Post by Nerre » Tue Feb 11, 2014 2:49 am

Year 2, month 7, week 1:
"all water and similar fluids rise by 1d3 blocks."

Events:
- with the month of flood heavy rain begins to pour down. The water rises by 2 blocks.
- the red being close to Bob doesn't seem to like rain, it runs past him and cowers below the overhanging cliff.
- the goats too do not like rain, the prefer to stay in the sheltered cave entrance.
- the log floats on the increased water level. It rotates easier now, that the branches are stuck less into the ground.

Image

Bob:
Bob approaches the little lizzard being and tries to calm it down with his voice. It looks more afraid of the rain than Bob. Bob hands a piece of seaweed to it. The lizard bites into it, but to Bob surprise the seaweed instantly goes up in flames. The lizard looks confused too and squeaks sadly at Bob.

Chopper:
Chopper notices the tree could rotate easier now, but as the goblins removed all the top branches it does not, since their weight keeps it stable. He manages to cut up 9 blocks of wood with worker 1, gaining 42 lumber.

Kach:
Kach continues to mine to free Bob. He destroys 8 blocks of stone. When he sees that he won't be quick enough, he starts to make the tunnel smaller. At the end of the week, he reaches Bob and the lizard thing, which sits right in front of the tunnel.

Mint:
Mint decides he should catch some more fish as the food is running low. He jumps into the lake and catches 4 fish.

Tar:
Tar removes branches from the log, gaining 4 lumber. All the upper branches are gone now, only those in the water remain. Nobody can lend him a pick, as Zaul, Kach and Worker 2 are busy using theirs. Maybe the goblins should make another one?

Zaul:
Zaul mines one of the green stones. Although the stone itself seems hard enough to not break easily, spots that it got many tiny fisures, so he has to be carefully. Without those fisures it might be close to granite, but with them the stones only are about as robust as glas. The break along fisures, often all along their length, if presure is applied to the wrong spot. But against blunt hits blocks of the stone are rather robust. Zaul breaks one of the stones into green splinters, but he manages to mine the next one without breaking it. Zaul is packed now and cannot carry anymore.

Worker 1:
Worker 1 cuts up the log with Chopper. They gain 42 lumber.

Worker 2:
Worker 2 mines 1 iron and 2 construction stone.

Worker 3:
Worker 3 removes branches from the log, gaining 4 lumber.

Hobgoblin Hgon:
Hgon still is no good metal worker, but he manages to create the hammer head in the second attempt. He grabs one of the branches the others keep bringing in and makes a hammer handle out of it. Proudly he swings the finished hammer, then he puts it down into the storage.

Discoveries:
- Zaul discovered Emerald: beautiful green gem stone, harder than glass, but still can break cause of fisures running through it. Might be worth a lot to the right people.

Information:
- 7 constructlings eat this turn (5 players, 2 NPC). Kach eats this turn. The hobgoblin eats. 10 food is consumed.

*Nerre, what happened to the makeshift anvil?

"There Bob, you should be able to get out now... Oh, hay there little fellow..." When seeing the seaweed go up in smoke Kach thinks a little bit... "Hay Bob, try feeding him this here!" he says and hands over 2 charcoal briquets...

"Hay Tar, you can have my Pick" Kach says and hands it over as he walks back over to the smithy!

"Really good work Hgon! I'll get to work on that sword right away!"

Kach uses one SA to make a long mould in the rough shape of a sword blade with a bottom spike to create the handle around and pours iron into it!. He also grinds any broken moulds into as fine a stone powder as he can!

*If the molds are whole, can we then have them added to our treasure list

Tar takes the pick, but seeing the green stones Zaul has mined, he heads over to test the sharpness of the emerald shards on a piece of wood. They may be precisely what he was looking for, and if they're not, perhaps gentle tapping of an emerald or attaching some kind of a handle to one of these shards may suffice to build what he is after, a sharp wittling knife or maybe even something that might be able to shear a goat.

"Oh, thanks Kach. I'm not sure if it will eat coal, but it's worth a try since it is some kind of fire creature..." Bob says, and hands the lizard a piece of coal from what Kach gave him.
