Well this is my av (assignment 1):
Image
It's Dies-in-Battle.
He came from far, not yet known tribe of Goblins. Very unusual one.
First it's the only known tribe in which mutations causes some children to be born blue. This is however quite rare event.
Second it's the only tribe in which males grow facial hair, as well as hair of the head and pubic hair.
Third it's the most badass tribe in the known world. They are extremely good fighters, as well as swimmers. Every adventurer, who manages to get into far, unexplored parts of the world quickly learns that it's better not to make them angry. This or the glimpse of saber or pike is the last thing they see.

As the best and most honorable warrior of his tribe, after death he was worshiped for 150 years. That made Goblins' Goddess quite impressed, so she adopted him and made a god too. Now he wants to create his own world, so he started at God School.

Assigment #2

Here is my lair. With layers. Got it?
Wall and floor (background)
It have nice view on the forest (Dies prefers simple hideouts to palace he got when he became god) (layer 1),
bed made out of leaves (layer 2),
ladder, leading to next part of the lair (layer 3),
his both favorite weapons (layers 4 and 5)
and of course Dies himself (layer 6).

I didn't finish 4 assignment yet, but I've already done first frame and I thing it looks quite good. I mean the new guy is looking much better then rest of the drawing. Which is also a problem, because now everything else is looking bad. It's going to have 4 frames in total.

Image
Hi Tarion, what brings you there?
He is free. Again. Every warrior from my tribe is on the war expedition now. I can't fight since the accident, so I was in the village, but I couldn't stop him. I'm too weak.
No, not again. Show me where he is. This time it will be over for good.
Image
He is inside that hut. Nobody was leaving there, since last owner died in battle weak ago. I think his things are still inside.
No. I can't. I' can't kill him.
There is no other way, it's the fifth time he escaped this year.
There must be a way.
Image
I can't hurt him.
Guard my weapons.
I'm coming in.

Image
Oh hi brother, what a lovely family meeting, isn't it?
Did he just bite of his ear?!
4/4 done

Hay Borys, As I've said in the random thread, thanks for coming along and waking us all up :)

Since you are not done with your assignment, I wont make a full review yet, but I just wanted to catch up on one thing.

You seem to have a nice consistent style here and you even updated your drawing as you decided to go wit ha thinner outline. and that's great :)
You even remember that when you rotate a figure, he is not the same from right and left side, that's a thing many mess up (including me) so good work there.
And you've used both fill color, fill pattern and different brushes I see, also good :)

the one (okay 2) things that bug my eye is your sword and spear...
All of your art is in a pixelated "clean" style and that's fine (its a question of taste for many, some like and some hate it)
But your spear shaft and sword breaks this, by being blued. the worst part here is the spear shaft, as your spear head is pixelated, it looks wrong that the shaft is blurred.
to show what I mean:
Image

My guess is that you have drawn the objects in one size or rotation, and then changed it.. now.. if you use GIMP, there is an easy fix for this (and probably also in Photoshop)
When selecting the Stretch or rotation tool, there is a drop box named "Interpolation" As a standard, its set to Cubic.
Cubic will see how much you scale an object, and the average out the colors from the pixels to make a smooth edge (called blurring) like what happened with your sword and spear shaft, look here:
Image

A fix for this is to chose "None" Interpolation, like this:
Image

The solution is the same for both stretch and rotate.

Just a hint. Besides that.. great work :)
-Best regards LAYF

Thank you for your hints and support.
Second ass was big experiment with many different things for me. (It's literary first time I was using Gimp), so when I wanted to draw sword it was very hard, because it have some details, that are too small to draw in 100% of a size. So I wasn't aware of this zoom option, just drawn them as big as entire canvas and reduced it. I saw it is looking like a poo and it's harder to manipulate with it, but I left it as it is. Later in this type of things I was using zoom, so it won't be a problem any more.
