If you like Riesling, you might like an Italian vino dolce (sweet wine) that we found. It's called Di Cello Moscato D'Asti. It's almost is more like a juice in flavor except it has just a bit of carbonation in it (and it's 5.5% alcohol). Not very expensive (about $10/bottle). We get ours over at the local Sam's Club, but I imagine Brown Derby would likely carry it, too (at least their Wine Center probably would). My wife is rather picky about things like that. She'll only drink a sweet wine, and then occasionally. She likes this one, though. Otherwise, only Riesling or one of the St. James Winery vintages.

I tend toward the drier end of Rieslings, sweet, but not too sweet. But the girls both like the sweetest thing you can find. lol. Thanks. We don't have either of those out here in the anti-business wilderness, but Kappy's has a big wine selection if I drive a couple towns over. (Seriously, we regulate everything so much here that there are BYOB restaurants, because the city is "out" of liquor licenses. )

When it comes to wine... I live in the best area for it. The biggest wine fair in the world is the "Worschtmarkt" (translates into sausage fair ^^ ) in Bad D├╝rkheim which is about 25km from here. This weekend starts one of the biggest wine fairs on the rhine river in Worms, the so called Backfischfest (Baked Fish Fair or something). Worms is my birth place and I live about 10km from it.
Here's a link, sadly in german only.

http://www.backfischfest.de/backfischfest/index.php

The best thing: The main tent for about 3000 people has 20 booths for all the cities and villages in the Wonnegau area around Worms and you get over 400 different wines, from red to white, from dry to sweet, you'll find what you need. (Hehe, seems like I didn't trade in my rhime on purpose ability). You can try a small glass of every single wine for free, too! That means: You can get drunk all nine days of the fair without spending money and without drinking something 2 times.

I actually live in a small village, with a population of 400 and around 20 wineries. (It means I get my wine very cheap directly from the producer, and often I get 1 or 2 bottles for free. Great place to live.

D├╝W?
I've got friends in S├╝W....
So, when I visit them I tend to load far more wine into my car than I could possibly drink.....

Yeah. I still have bottles from several years ago left over.
They make fine Coq-au-vin, although it's a waste of that good wine.....

But then, I don't find time to enjoy a drink, so I don't drink atm.

Thunt tweeted a few minutes ago. Apparently Goblins might be returning...

I'll believe it when I see it. :)

Should we begin the game of obsessively analyzing this tiny little piece of data? My brain is already doing that, and I know it's a specialty of the obsessive Goblins fan. . . heck some of us pixel by pixel view each update. . .

AWW HELL YEAH!

It kinda sucks though that it's just the nth announcement that he's returning, not an actual comic.

It's not an announcement of anything.
The full tweet:
@Thunt_Goblins wrote:Get ready.

It might just be that his Twitter account will be redesigned (new logo already), or the announced Goblinscomic.com site redesign.
Or indeed, that the new page might finally go live.

We'll just have to get ready to get our minds blown.

...I don't like it.

I know, I know. Thunt has just come out of a rough spot, and feeling like someone out there doesn't like something he's put a lot of effort into is the last thing he needs. But honestly, it comes off as over detailed, with a weird 3D look that doesn't feel like Thunt's art style at all, more like a latex live action version. Granted, the other one wasn't brilliant (brown isn't my favourite colour), but it looked smooth with distinct, clean lines. The new one looks...messy, and I hope that whatever Thunt went through hasn't shifted hi style towards it.

The blue drippiness of the new logo reminds me of Mr.Fingers' necrotic rot effect. I'm just happy THunt is feeling better.

I'll have to totally disagree with you there, Glemp. I kinda see where you're coming from, but IMHO it's a huge improvement in Thunt's style. I doubt this will transgress the boundaries of the comic as it looks like it took a lot of effort and time and Thunt hasn't got the latter for the former ;) Anyway, great image, looking forward to Thunt's comeback!

Well, my personal opinion is that I like the old G much better.
But then, that's a personal opinion. Whether anything else changes? Will see and then I'll make an opinion on the complete set of changes....

I like the detail & overall feel as an updated logo, but I don't see it becoming the new overall style of the comic just for sustainability's sake alone; it might be interesting to see a few one-off character portraits done that way though...

Brand recognition should normally be simplistic and easy to visually parse. But I definitely like the new logo, even with the greater detail. One of the standout effects of Goblins has been the eyes; how they go dark with the grey speckling. The new version shows a more glassy/stony appearance that really adds to the intensity.

Plus I just like blue and green better than brown and not-brown.

To me it looks like a zombified version, as if "the comic is symbolically dead and rotting." I prefer the regular living original.
