They tricked us into employment, and they would take all of our pokemon in the end. I have no idea why, probably because eventually they will become more powerful.
~But...that doesn't make sense either. If they want them powerful, they'll just wait until you've trained them, then take them. So there would be no reason to be scared of losing them now. And why would they even go to all the trouble of forced coercion when they could just pay someone who doesn't care to raise them for much less effort and risk?~
They only lay claim to our pokemon because they're ours. We don't want them to take our pokemon, our family, so we have to work for them.
"......oooh, I get it now! It's a control thing. They just want you to keep working for them, so they're using the threat of taking your 'mons to discourage you from just quitting and walking away. They don't actually want the 'mons at all!~
And they are a biotech company? Do you have any idea what they do?
~I dunno. Biotech stuff? I think they make medical equipment, mainly. And the League probably hires them to manufacture all the general Pokemon products that we use, too. You know, Pokeballs, TM's, Potions, all that stuff. I heard they have contracts with pretty much every major manufacturing company in the region, and Genco's looks like the biggest one, so it makes sense for them to be in on the deal too.~
