((Rather than clog up the OOC with stories of tonights RL session, I started a new thread for sharing entertaining D&D session stories here, if you'd like to check it out and possibly tell a story of your own! At some point I think the goings on of the Shipwrecked crew should be told there!))

Going to be offline until about/after 6PM CST. Got to be out of town for a lecture/meeting. Spider can run Randy for me. He'll plan on moving about 15 feet north and then taking his next shot so that he doesn't risk hitting Maj.

Sounds good. If we get back around to a second action for him, I'll go from there.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I plan on incorporating the expanded tool proficiency stuff from Xanathar's into the game, this won't affect everyone, as not all of you have tool proficiencies, but it'll add flavor and utility for those of you that do. It's a lot of info, so I'll fill out the stuff for the relevant skills first.
Tool Proficiencies
Tool proficiencies are a useful way to hightlight a character's background and talents. At the game table, though, the use of tools sometimes overlaps with the use of skills, and it can be unclear how to use them together in certain situations. This section offers various ways that tools can be used in the game.
Tools and Skills Together
Tools have more specific applications than skills. The History skill applies to any event in the past. A tool such as a forgery kit is used to make fake objects and little else. Thus, why would a character who has the opportunity to acquire one or the other want to gain a tool proficiency instead of proficiency in a skill?
To make tool proficiencies more attractive choices for the characters, you can use the methods outlined below.
Advantage. If the use of a tool and the use of a skill both apply to the check, and a character is proficient with the tool and the skill, consider allowing the character to make the check with advantage. This simple benefit can go a long way toward encouraging players to pick up tool proficiencies. In the tool descriptions that follow, this benefit is often expressed as additional insight (or something similar), which translates into an increased chance that the check will be a success.
Added Benefit. In addition, consider giving characters who have both a relevant skill and a relevant tool proficiency an added benefit on a successful check. This benefit might be in the form of more detailed information or could simulate the effect of a different sort of successful check. For example, a character proficient with mason's tools makes a successful Wisdon (Perception) check to find a secret door in a stone wall. Not only does the character notice the door's presence, but you decide that the tool proficiency entitles the character to an automatic success on an Intelligence (Investigation) check to determine how to pen the door.

I have some things I need to get written up and sent out by end of day, so I likely won't be able to update until this evening, just as a heads up.

Do Zombies qualify as food for the purify food/water spell?
What about Zephyr? Or Holger? And can purify food/water alter the taste?

I've recently backed this Kickstarter, with the possibility of including some of the content from the book in the game...

Who knows what the future might hold! He's also designing a bunch of gemstone dragons that sound kinda cool, Neutral rather than the Evil or Good of Chromatic and Metallic.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Just because they are colour coded for convince doesn't mean chromatic/metallic have to be evil/good. Espessially if you have the spell true polymorph.

What I'm hearing is Spider saying Holger should definitely go for the leadership feat

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
The number of people with access to True Polymorph on any given plane at any one time is a pretty rare club to be in.
As far as leadership feat, not sure if that is something that exists as in earlier versions in 5e, but we'll see.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
There was in 3.5 that gave you a cohort with class levels and followers. I also think there is one in this edition called inspirering leader, but that just grants temporary hp to 6 people for doing an inspiring speech or something, not really clear so I guess I could play an inspiring tune for 10 min if I took it xD

Spider, any chance more of the tool proficiencies are on the way? Specifically forgery and poisoners? Asking for a friend

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Yeah, I'll get some more up when I Get a chance.
Just a heads up that I'll be traveling to see family over break, I'll have daily access, but might be a bit spottier on my part for the next week.
Brake line blew in the truck, I'm not going anywhere...

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Depends on if the whole line is corroded and prone to the same thing happening again, in which case it's a replacement rather than a repair. It's not difficult work, if it had happened once we got to my parents, it's something that if we were able to get the parts, I could have done with Dad and brother, most likely. But here, it's a question of how much is it going to cost me...

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Yeah, I hear that. I had a power steering line blow out on me as I was turning a corner once, the day before we were due to drive it 5 hours to catch a plane for a holiday. It's like they know when you have plans! Still, here's hoping it's both easy and cheap to fix!
On the matter of the game... We might be in way over our heads here! Good luck Zephyr and Randy!

This is a custom baddie, so I can't really say whether it's a balanced encounter or not, should it come to fighting.
