Koa half-shields his eyes against the flashlight as he looks up, which makes for a good excuse to cover more of his face, coincidentally.

"...What you think you're doing down there kid?"
"Uhm, w-well... ya'know," Koa fumbles, looking much like a kid with his hand stuck in the cookie jar. "Just picking around...."

"W-what are you doing here?" Koa weakly tries to change the subject while attempting to get a read on the guy.

Irene frowns at the proposition of breeding Amuara. "ok... but you'll take really good care of the baby right?"

Pokemon education check. 3d6=9 to realize tottodile, and amuara are in the same egg group.
If passes

"Because the pokemon you caught at the water plant should be in the egg group, and I would really prefer it if both parents were around."

If fails

"because by the time we get an egg your team could be a really high level, would you really be willing to wait to raise a baby when everyone else is ready?"

either way.

"Well I guess you wouldn't be asking if you didn't think you could... sure." As Irene agrees she looks down for a bit before looking back up. "The really are an amazing pokemon aren't they?"

The throw misses just as Silk takes down the butterfree, both pokeball and pokemon falling to the ground. With the most obvious opposition gone, Bjorn focuses on the metapod and decides to get a caterpie for James also if he has any pokeballs spare, as he requested one for himself too. Silk helpfully retrieves the pokeball from the ground with a wellplaced threaded string shot.

"Two pokeballs left Bjorn, don't fuck this up!" He throws again.

Metapod capture attempt: 1D20+1 = [1]+1 = 2
1D100 = [11] = 11

Bjorn watches with dispair as his throw falls short again.

"You have got to be fucking KIDDING me!" he roars.
He throws the second pokeball in anger.

Metapod capture attempt: 1D20+1 = [7]+1 = 8
1D100 = [13] = 13

It breaks apart on the ground. Silk retrieves the last fallen pokeball with another string shot, and nudges it to Bjorn to try one last time. He looks at Silk, then throws his last remaining pokeball with some reluctance.

Metapod capture attempt: 1D20+1 = [18]+1 = 19
1D100 = [65] = 65

Phoenix listens to Dr. Detrou talk, then he gets both Spot and himself looked at. After taking his check, he stuffs it into his pocket, and goes home. He releases Spot, Cris, and Spark, then lays down. I'm really sorry, but I'm way to tired and beat up to go look for food for you guys tonight. I have this can of food, and if you want more you're going to have to look for it yourself. Feel free to get it however you want, just be sure to be back before daylight. Phoenix opens the can of meat from Zachary's backpack, and assuming it smells ok, he sets it down for the group to share, before quickly falling asleep. He doesn't wake until morning.

"ok... but you'll take really good care of the baby right?"

"But of course, m'dear," Elias says, spreading his hands in a placating gesture. Bringing them back together, he says, "Despite what some may believe, I am hardly a monster. I look after my pokemon and give them only the best that I am capable of." He says with a smile, although Irene could notice that his eyes, for the briefest moment, flick over to Alex as he mentions others' beliefs. "Isn't that right, Stelour?"

Standing next to Elias, Stelour glances up, then calmly shakes her head at Irene.

"...really." Elias deadpans at the shiny Riolu, looking unimpressed. "I spend more on food for each team member then most trainers would spend for an entire team, and that's the thanks I get?"

Looking up at her trainer again, Stelour opts to merely stick the tip of her tongue out, playfully chiding Elias.

"...anyway, the point is, I don't mistreat my pokemon."

"Well I guess you wouldn't be asking if you didn't think you could... sure."

Pulling the $500 out of his wallet, Elias easily hands it over, seemingly completely non-plussed about that amount of money changing hands. "Very well. You won't regret it, I assure you." He says, again putting on a charming smile.

"Thanks for the generous reward and offer mr. Detrou. I'm expecting to meet some other trainers at the pokemon center though, so I'll spare your employees the trouble."

Drake bid his farewell with the others before heading towards the center. On the way he picks up some herbivore food and harvest his pokemon for mushrooms.
When he gets to the pokemon center he'll hand over his injured pokemon to a Joy before looking around for the others and once he spot them he heads over towards the group.

"Hey, how've you been today?"

James looks up from his chair, mid process of eatting some lettuce. He polietly finishes eatting before answering. "I was able to enter a contest today, and got second place. Which is unfortunate but I can try again at a later date."

His stomach gives a loud growl. "Asides that I have been unbeievably hungry." James returns to eatting, finishing up the lettuce before going through his cooler for the nearest thing he sees, which happens to be a carrot.

James

Finishing up the day, James has a visit to the centers with the others, before eventually heading home undisturbed and having a peaceful night of sleep...

Relatively, at least.

Koa

"Uhm, w-well... ya'know, Just picking around...."

"W-what are you doing here?"

"Well... I saw the rope as I was walking home and..." The man begins, seeming not too certain what he was expecting- And at this point, seeming to regret even coming over to investigate- As he awkwardly glances more at Sula behind you than he does trying to get a read on you.

"You, erm... Probably shouldn't be doing what you're doing. Might get you trouble, you know?"

"Anyways, I'll... Just be leaving. Just... Don't be here when I'll come back! You'll regret it!"
he says, rather half-heartedly for what was a rather imposing guy- As he seems to leave the scene.

Elias, Irene

Elias and Irene do a "trade" of sorts- Before both presumably head for a place to stay the night...

Bjorn

Following the butterfree's defeat, Bjorn accidently breaks one of his pokeballs- Before managing to use his last one to catch the metapod!

Bjorn has captured a lvl 7 quiet male metapod with the shed skin ability!

His pokedex lights up as the capture of both caterpie and metapod seems to be slightly different as usual- The dex quickly informing him both pokemon have been sent back to the pc for storage.

Drake, Phoenix

Following the monologue, most of the trainers graciously accept the man's offer- Taking the elevator down into a high-tech looking lab area, though they don't get to see too much from what lies beyond the locked doors- Immediately escorted to a small medical room, a brief apology given the bigger room is currently reserved- For rather obvious reasons. As everyone is treated- One injury instantly removed, and a bandage applied that should heal another injury over the coming 7 hours- So with a good nights rest, that'd be 2 injuries cured. Their pokemon are healed as a regular center would, though seems to have done it far faster than they could.

And while Phoenix afterwards returns to "The spot"- Finding the food to still be in reasonable condition, as well as having several cans of the stuff, Drake had left for the pokecenter. Receiving the treatment as usual. He then wishes to harvest both his mushroom pokemon... But finds them still rather angry after the events of their capture- And rather dispositioned when the first thing he tries to do is immediately harvest them.

Theis, roll either 2 charm or command checks.

"H-hey hold on! Do you know the people that lived here? I was wondering if they had a little kid."
Koa fishes out the Clefairy doll he'd found earlier and shows it to the man.
"This was in one of the boxes down here; I was thinking of giving it back to the family. It looks like this place was burned down, yeah? So who knows if they've got any toys left? And I think the construction guys were just gonna leave it here or dump it somewhere, since the basement was closed off."

Regardless of the man's answer, Koa tries to discern whether the guy was actually intent on turning him in or doing much of anything at all.
Intuition on guy at demolished house 2: 4D6+2 = [6, 3, 6, 3]+2 = 20

Depending on how Koa feels about the guy, he may or may not decide to check one or more of the remaining rooms in the basement.
Perception in demolished house basement - AP boosted: 2D6+1 = [2, 4]+1 = 7 (if needed)

After that is when Koa finally leaves, gathers his rope and his findings, and goes back to the hotel he used the night previously to check in!

Bjorn breathes a massive sigh of relief, thanking Silk for encouraging him to have a last attempt. He shimmies down from the tree, with no pokeballs left to catch a caterpie for James. Well, at least he knows where they are now, and can relay the location to James. He takes the time to fire off a message to him.

Code: Select all

Caught everything required, but ran out of pokeballs so could not get a caterpie for you unfortunately. I can direct you there though. Any chance I could crash at your place tonight? We can visit the research facility tomorrow.
Making sure no other aggressive pokemon are around, he brings out all his herbivores for a chance to forage for an evening meal, and uses the last of his pokemon food on Silk. Once all are full, he recalls all but Nape and mounts up for the journey back to town.
If any pokemon attempt to attack along the wat, Nape will use Agility and Run Away.

Code: Select all

Sure you can crash at my place, I do not mind. It is nice to have company.
James waits for Bjorn to get to his place before locking his door.

Not wanting Kale to evolve overnight he keeps him in the pokeball along with Rose so they do not figt over who is better. He lets out everybody else before going to sleep. He curls up and goes into a defensive stance. Not that he is expecting anything to happen, it just makes him feel better.

Izzy returns the nurse's smile with one of her own as the bandage is applied, trying to look as grateful as possible. And once the treated is finished, she nods in agreement at the advice to avoid throwing herself back into the wilderness for a couple of days.

"Yeah, don't worry - I was planning on staying off my feet for a bit! Thanks again for the help."

After getting her 'mons treated too, Izzy meets up with Irene and activates the puppy-eyes.

"Sooo....I can sleep at yours again tonight. Yeah?"

As Drake notice the trouble the two fungal pokemon is giving him, he decided to get bossy around the fungus.

"I know we didn't really meet on good terms, but none the less I'm your trainer now. It will be far easier and more pleasant for all of us if you cooperate with me. Both of you lived in a dark cave which surprises me a little since it isn't easy to get out of it unless you know another way than the one I used. So be glad that I've brought you topside with plenty of sunlight which I'm sure you enjoy. So just let me harvest a couple of mushrooms, and stroll through the last bit of light together to get to the pokemon center and have the parasects wounds checked there. Tomorrow we'll get some more time to figure out what you like if you cooperate."

Thinking a bit about it he'll turn to the foongus to ask it a question.
"Did you think the pokeball were a foongus egg?"

If one or both of the fungal pokemon won't cooperate, he'll recall the little rebel before things get out of hand.

"I was able to enter a contest today, and got second place. Which is unfortunate but I can try again at a later date."

"Asides that I have been unbeievably hungry."

"Unless you want some pokemon food, I can't really help with your hunger." Drake lets out a small friendly laugh along with his joke before continuing.

"Nicely done with the competition, I doubt I would even make it through the introduction before screwing it up somehow."

"You got a letter from Genesome yesterday right? We found a missing person in the cave and brought him there to get some help.. Apparently they did some experiments on him, including a mind controlling fungus.. I hope you are careful with them.."

"Only if it is herbavore food."

Koa

"H-hey hold on! Do you know the people that lived here? I was wondering if they had a little kid."

"Erm... Not really, but... Why do you ask?"

"This was in one of the boxes down here; I was thinking of giving it back to the family. It looks like this place was burned down, yeah? So who knows if they've got any toys left? And I think the construction guys were just gonna leave it here or dump it somewhere, since the basement was closed off."

"...Oh. I... Well, I wouldn't know. You'd have to find someone from the construction crew..." the man says- his lips frowning apologetically, before turning around and leaving. Koa's still not sure what the man is intent on doing, mostly because it seems the man isn't sure himself yet either- Though he seems far more willing to let it go after that little chat.

Following this, Koa decides to give the place one last quick look around, but finds nothing of interest- The others room cleared out. Admittedly, he does a rush job- Fearing the man might call the league, or for that matter anyone else who had noticed the kerfuffle- Soon enough finding himself back outside, and to the hotel.

Koa has gained 7 misc exp for everything this day.

Bjorn

Bjorn finds his journey back to the city uneventful- If only because he quickly flees at the lightest sense of danger. Sooner rather than later, he finds himself regrouping with the others as his pokemon are healed- Presumably hitching someone's sofa, as he too has a peaceful sleep.

Bjorn has also gained 7 misc exp.

Drake, James

Drake hitches another sofa at James's place, as they presumably discuss the Genesome issue further.

James too has gained 7 misc exp

Everyone

Most having gone through a tiring day, they eventually all find their respective place to rest- Some enjoy the relative luxury of their high or low rent apartments, others sleeping under their own or someone else's roof. And a yet another gets to see the stars, as eventually they all drift off to sleep. Perhaps tomorrow would be a blessing, and not be as chaotic as the last few days had been. They could hope...

Koa repeats his before-bed routine of getting everyone's sleeping arrangements set up!
SuperVaderMan wrote:He asks for some extra pillows and blankets from the staff there, and he makes sure everyone has some comfy bedding to sleep on: Maguma with him in the bed, Mali under the bed, Sula near the wall socket if she wants a midnight snack, and Kano on some soggy bedding in the half-filled bathtub.
He'll also set Loto up on the nightstand by the window, to get him some morning sun rays. Then everyone goes to sleep.
