James gets away from the crowd before letting out his pokemon. "Hello, I am James and this adorable little girl is Jasmine. We are probably not going to win, but I think we can give them a fabolous show, and show others that being pretty and beautiful is not just a hobby."

Well, there's no helping bad luck, even if he got so much of it before the matches even started!. Koa'll just have to make due. Worst thing that happens is he loses and has to try again next tournament.

Koa lets out the team, and he gets out his cooking set, too.
"Help me light this thing, Mags? Thanks li'l man."

"Alright guys, I'm gonna be your trainer for the next little bit! First off let's give you names, so we can introduce you all! Let's see, you're gonna be Ele'ele, just Ele," Koa says, gesturing at the Jigglypuff as he sets his ingredients out. He glances at the Hoppip as he starts cooking, "and you... are gonna be Loto. Ele, Loto, this is Maguma!"

As everyone gets acquainted with one another, Koa prepares a bunch of tasty food for everyone. First off he makes 3 batches of baby food, which he immediately gives to everyone to get their strength and spirits up, and he makes 2 Salty Surprise treats for them to hold during the match!

Irene happily receives the pokeballs of her two new if temporary companions "Ok, so I need to check in there by this time correct?" After making sure she had her facts straight and knows where to head to and when Irene will step outside. "Alright you two come on out. It's a pleasure to meet you two, and even though we won't be together for very long, let's still be friends! Araura let's call you Cygnus for now, and as for you Chikorita hooow about... Callum." After giving them attention Irene starts training with them to work on trust, and teamwork. Chikorita, and Amaura gain 5 xp each. With Spinda cheering them on the whole time.

Like the others, Izzy wastes no time in letting out her new companions in order to get to know them. The Fletchling and Makuhita are first, both calmly watching and waiting for orders. However, when she lets out the Noibat, she notices that it's a little.....different. A glimmer of intelligence sparks behind it's yellow eyes, and it wastes no time in swooping up into the sky and exploring the new area inquisitively. Unlike the Fletchling, which is now preening its feathers, as the Makuhita picks some fluff out of its belly.
"Aww! You're all so adorable!"

Leaning down, Izzy wraps up the bird and chubby thing in a big bear-hug. Which the bat takes as an invitation to land on top of her hat, and survey the area from up there instead.
"Alright! My name's Izzy, and I'm going to be your trainer for a bit. We...probably aren't gonna do very well, but I'm sure you'll all do your best anyway!"
"Oh, that's right - you don't have names, do you? Err....well, we aren't going to know each other very long, so I guess I'll just give you short ones. How about Maku, Fletch, and....Noib?"

The Makuhita and Fletchling both seem pretty happy with their temporary names, and go back to tidying themselves up. The Noibat, however, is less impressed - scrambling forward, it pokes it's head over the brim of Izzy's hat and gives her what can only be described as a deadpan stare.
"...no, you're right. That's not very good, is it......"
"What about.....Ibat?"

Another stare, this one almost exasperating.
"....Oib-?"

Before she can even finish her next suggestion, the little bat begins to show it's displeasure with the dumb names. By whacking its wings against the top of Izzy's head, tiny claws slipping through the gaps in the material and scratching up her scalp painfully.
"Ow! Okay, okay! I get it I get it!!!"
"Oh! Kay! Kay's a good one! R-right....?"
The bat pauses it's attack, leaving Izzy to wait with baited breath. However, just when she begins to suspect that it's planning something even worse for her, the little bat sticks it's head over the brim of the hat again and gives her a smiling thumbs up. Much to her relief.
"Alright! So, we've got Maku, Fletch, and Kay. Now...err......"

Glancing around, Izzy sees the other contestants - who had obviously come prepared - begin to pull out cooking sets or start complex training regimes that she can barely follow, much less copy. Then she looks back down at her team, who are staring up expectantly, waiting for her to do....something.
"Let's start from the beginning. What Moves do you all know......?"

Phoenix practically runs behind Jeremy, waiting to see what pokemon he'll be using. After given the choices he takes the Makuhita and leaves the other two.

Alright, who's next? I hope I get a really cool one.

Koa's in the middle of salting up some nutritious, bite-sized treats when James approaches.

"Hm? Uh, sure I guess. That shouldn't be a problem! I got this one portion left for... $100? That's not that much I don't think."

Bjorn lets his two additional pokemon out.

"Nice to meet you both, I'm your temporary trainer for a little while. I won't be giving you any nicknames; you probably both have your own already and I don't want to get any more attached to you than I have to, given I'll have to give you back shortly. Now I really really want to be a trainer, so I'm going to need big favours from the both of you to help me out. I'll do my best to look after you while you're on my team. Can you please help me to win this tournament? "

Both new pokemon nod yes, and Bjorn gives them all a steely look of determination.

"Then lets do this!"

When Tyke, who is totally Female by the way (*Glares at Mort*), sees the Tympole she immediately exclaims, "Ohh, Arceus! That is the Cutest thing Ever! It's even got Headphones! This little guy has to be on my team!" She says, most definitely choosing the Tympole.

After she gets handed the Pokemon, she heads back to the waiting room with the others and sends out her two Temporary Pokemon, Crackle buzzing around them to inspect "Alright! Hey guys! You two get to be the Pokemon that help us start the Most Awesome PokeMetal Band in the world! The 160 DeciCubone PokePanic! Hmm...Not quite right...Anyway. You guys get to help make that Dream a Reality and I'm gonna give you suitably epic Codenames for it! Even if you don't get to keep them...But whatever." She says, looking at both of the other Pokemon as she considers them. Then she points to the Tympole. "You'll be DJ, since you look like you're about to drop some Phat Beats on us, with those Mega Headphones anyway." Then she points to the Gulpin, and you can be Baritone, Barry for short. You certainly have one. How do those sound?"

"Mmmm-OK," Koa shrugs, setting aside the completed salty treat. He scoops up the remaining helping of nutritious pokemon food and puts it in a plastic baggie. "Here ya go! It should help build up his muscles and bones and everything, all throughout the day!"

"Thanks." He lets out Jasmine, her flower is a ghost orchid and her face and body are lavebdar, while her legs are purple. Her crown is more yellow than other Flabebe's.

"Hey Jasmine, now why don't you open wide? I got some nutritious food for you."

Drake heads into the waiting room after recieving his pokemon. He releases them and takes a good look at them.
"You seem capable enough. Guess it's up to me now."
Drake sighs while looking at the floor.
"If last time is anything to judge from, we may be better off going for the wildcards."
Drake grabs his grooming kit and tends to his pokemon with it.
"Even if this doesn't help, at least you got to be well groomed which I doubt happens often for you two."

Tyke

Tyke obtains a lvl 10 hardy male gulpin with liquid ooze and a lvl 10 decisive male tympole with mud dweller!

Bjorn, Alex, Izzy, Drake, Elias, James, Tyke, Phoenix, Irene, Koa
As everyone selects their pokemon- Just a list of pictures and names on a screen, the machine soon gets to work- Not much later spitting out the two, or three new pokeballs for their temporary new trainers. After which the groups are gathered up again, and escorted out- This time taken to another rather large hall, where they're told they'll have some time to acquaint with their pokemon. And hence, most trainers take this opportunity to begin training their pokemon- Others prepare some food to aid their pokemon inside, and yet others decide to groom their pokemon.

Jeremy and Isabella seem to be of the same mindset, both beginning to train their pokemon- Jeremy seeming to stick to mostly basic training, though giving some inspiring words to his pokemon- Seemingly consisting out of a floating blue metal eye, a bird that looks as if it's wearing a wrestling mask, and a brown and pink weed that looks very much out of it's element.

Isabella's training meanwhile is... A lot different- And probably leaves more than a few people in the room questioning, considering how brutal she's being to her pokemon, pushing them to their absolute limits. Arceus, doesn't that hurt? She only gives one of them a slightest pause as it seems to have trouble keeping up with the regime, at which she kneels down and whispers something to it, before continuing the training as usual. Her team seems to consists out of a black and red dog, a cactus and a little green lizard-like pokemon, with a darker green spike on the top of it's head.

And while Isabella seems everything but interested in taking up some idle chatter, Jeremy does- Adressing himself to the two groups, seemingly currently the only ones in the final waiting room so far.

"So... All of you have your own pokemon?"

"Alex Sparo. I do have one of my own already, though I only have him to help out when I'm struggling with something. You would be surprised how hard it is to buy groceries without him... Well, I suppose at this point what advantage could be gained by seeing my team is minimal. I might as well meet them." Alex sends out his team, gesturing to Roy, "This is Roy, my caretaker, of sorts. As for the others..." He turned to the Duskull and Clamperl, "I hope you two are okay with this, but I'm only going to be referring to you by your species. You aren't actually my pokemon, and I don't want to get attached to you." He turns a critical eye on the Duskull, "That said, I can tell that you aren't particularly worried about getting things done. Your sort should be more of a trickster, I feel. You would find it fun to set up harmless little tricks and traps, right? You would surely enjoy it a lot more than doing nothing. So you should be less Lax, and more... Impish. Just give it some time, think it over."

Changing Viewpoints; Alter the Duskull from Lax (+Def - SDef) to Impish (+Def -SAtk).
Half an hour is enough time for that, right? Training is an extended action, so I'm guessing that it would be plenty of time.

Alex Sparo, A city boy, poor of sight, who has learned to manipulate people and make the most of what he, and others, have - Trinity Isles (Run by Mort)
Mehriv Turajin, a Noble Dragonborn Sorcerer sent from his clan because he wasn't dragony enough. - The Wandering Archipelago (Run by Thinks)

It takes a while, but eventually Izzy manages to memorize the Moves her guys can use in a fight.

At first she's a little disappointed that all of them seem limited to hitting stuff with their fists, beaks, or claws, but then they show her a couple of the tricks they have up their metaphorical sleeves. Maku has this cool thing he can do with sand, making it hard for his opponent to see properly, while Fletch is ridiculously fast and flighty, easily outspeeding everything in sight despite her calm demeanor. However Kay is the one Izzy is most impressed by, showing off a cool sound attack that leaves her stumbling around in confusion for a couple of seconds.

Just as she manages to stop walking into the wall, Izzy notices that the other contestants have all started chatting, and decides to join in.

"Hi! I'm Izzy! And...no, I didn't bring my own Pokemon. This'll be my first time working with any. Well, apart from playing with the wild Pidgey, of course."
