Didn't know that was for me.

Zephyr athletically sprints from outcropping to outcropping, hiding her red flesh from spying eyes as she flits from place to place towards the ruins. :D

Atheltics: 1D20+5 = [17]+5 = 22

Zephyr does that, very athletically jumping about.

((Give me a Stealth as well, with advantage for your good, good sprinting.))

((Unless Spider says otherwise, Randy will be unconscious until dawn. In RL peyote like compounds usually last approximately 8-12 hours. While it might be possible to wake Randy up before that, he'll probably still be hallucinating. I rather doubt he's going to be feeling very good for a couple of days. This could work out well for me. Due to some "creative scheduling" done by the front desk, I've got about zero downtime today. Once things get rolling, I doubt I'll be able to get back to look until close to 6PM CST. Next week will be better: I've scheduled some vacation time (use it or lose it). So have fun and try not to kill Randy before I get back. ;) Spider, if anything does need to get done, you have my permission.))

Zephyr eventually makes it to the overgrown switchback that leads to the top of the plateau. As she crests it, she thinks she sees a flicker of firelight from the back-side of the ruins, hidden from view of the caravan route. Was that the sound of laughter? Crying?

Coljin will assist with the set up of camp as usual, and stay with the group.
He wistfully looks over the way Zephyr went and hopes she doesn't get herself killed on her own.

Zephyr listens closely, trying to make out what it was she heard, all the while, slowly and carefully inching closer.

You don't see anything, but as you keep on creeping along, the flicker of light is doused, and you hear only silence ahead.

"shit", zephyr hisses to herself. They must have made her somehow.

Zephyr looks around at the current thing she was hiding behind. Hunkering down into the smallest shape possible, she froze, waiting silently, tilting a head toward the light she had seen.

You're clumped behind some rubble. You hold position... nothing. Five minutes go by... nothing. You've been gone from the rest of the camp about an hour now.

Having calmed her fast beating heart from the sudden change, Zephyr tilts her head again, listening for anything ...different.

Perception: 1D20+3 = [11]+3 = 14

If she still hears nothing, she'll begin moving cautiously back to camp.

Nothing. It would appear that whatever was there has been alerted and warned. The source of the firelight was on the opposite end of the ruins, hundreds of feet out of sight.

Zephyr eventually rolls into camp.

The night passes uneventfully, and you all wake up the next morning. Randy is feeling like garbage, but his mind is his own. ((Randy has 1 point of exhaustion, and has disadvantage on ability checks.))

"So, it looks like the wagon could head that way, but if there is a camp of goblins or such is that the wise choice? Or should we just go in as a show of force? There are a LOT of us. By the way, I didn't see you come back Zephyr. Did you find anything out when you ran off?" ask Coljin

Randy is awake, but he looks like something the cat drug in, then drug back out and buried in pity and disgust. His eyes are sunken and look bruised. He looks pale and wasted. He keeps anxiously picking at his clothes and his eyes keep darting around as though he's nervously watching for something. He definitely has no appetite this morning. When greeted, he flinches a little, grimaces and waves the individual off. He IS thirsty and drinks plenty of clean well water. He parks himself a little away from the group and silently sharpens his boot dagger with his wet stone. *shrik* *shrik* *shrik*

The Abbey folks get packed up and start heading in the direction you had indicated the ruins were, it's slow going once the scrubby growth gets denser, as time is taken to clear things enough for wagons to pass. Leaving wagons at the roadside doesn't seem prudent.

Vai'lon and a few others (likely including Zephyr, and would have included Randy if he wasn't feeling so rubbish) scout ahead, returning to the wagons as they begin working their way up the switchback.

"Signs of an encampment, abandoned now, but looks like you were correct in surmising it was goblins. Their refuse and scrawlings mark the walls, but they seem to have departed."

Asking loudly in case anyone in the party or the abbey contingent might know, "Is it normal for goblins to be in the wilderness here, or is this something strange for them?"

((I'd take a History check, Zephyr would have advantage, Randy could have advantage by spending one of his 'Wilds' points. ))

((Let's try without))
History (disadvantage): 2D20.LOW(1)+1 = [2, 8]+1 = 3 :o_O:

((Coyote's really got it in for Randy! This is starting to push the laws of probability a bit.))

Randy's still not communicating much, unless you consider the activity of sharpening every piece of edged weaponry on his person to a razors edge an act of communication. When he gets done with his knife, he pull a hair from his head and brushes it against the blade. It falls cleanly in two. He moves on to his swords. *Shrrriiiikk* Shrrriiiikk* Shrrriiiikk*

histroy: 1D20-1 = [4]-1 = 3
Maji knows nothing of goblins. Which makes since, he didn't really go out much until recently.
