Re: The Sundered Way
((I think we can safely assume that for those of you within range that aren't trying to do anything else.))
Tess tries the bone on the altar gem, and while poking it with the bone is about as easy as turning a doorknob with a stick, pressing the bone between the palm and the gem allows her mage hand to grip the stone. It seems able to turn readily.
((Would you like to dial it clockwise, or counter clockwise?))

The room is still, quiet other than the heavy breathing or sounds of pain various members are making and the soft hiss of the lit braziers.

"Ok, it should be safe now. Let me try removing it with this skeleton bone..."
Nemeia continues using the mage hand and palmed skeleton bone, and tries to remove the gem from the snake's mouth in case there's more magic at work there.

It seems the anti-tamper safeguards don't care about marked bones, as the gem and eyes begin glowing again...

"OH MY GODDESS. Leave it alone!" cries Coljin in exasperation. "Try turning it off again and then you can try stealing it when we are done in here an ready to leave."
Yes, Coljin is still in range of it and dodging again.

"Eep!"
((I guess skeletons aren't allowed to steal the gems either...))
Nemeia is standing about 30 feet from the altar gem and 30 feet from the snake statue to make full use of her mage hand's range.
Assuming she's not dead (I don't think she can be one-shotted due to her fire resistance), she'll try turning the gem off again (anti-clockwise).

"God darn it... It's like some god up there is taunting us with treasure we can't get!"
Ulmwin would still be in shooting range, although far enough back that he could run out in one turn if need be.

Holger would be near the statue watching the effect of the skeleton bone getting in contact with it. He'll be ready to dodge it though

Coljin also isn't going to be much more help here, so he goes out of the zone of fire. He will instead go over to the open alcove on the east, the one furthest from the snake gems, and explore and search it, taking his time.

Randy is just going to just stay out the way and work on trying to caring for his burns.
Medicine: 1d20+3 = [5] = 8
Apparently, it's hard to do a proper job of bandaging yourself when you've been microwaved.

Tess begins moving the mage hand back, to turn off the gem, when she gets shot by the statue. ((DEX save))
Holger:1;Tess:2;Maji:3;Ulmwin:4;Coljin:5: 1D5 = [2] = 2
Statue Beam: fire, necrotic, radiant: Tess: 1D4 = [1] = 1
1D4 = [2] = 2
1D4 = [3] = 3
As she grips the bone against the gem and turns it, the gem deactivates again.
Randy tends to his burns, but they are painful to even touch.

With the gem deactivated again, Ulmwin moves closer... Investigating from a cautious distance to see if he can figure anything out...
"Keep ready to deactivate it, will ya..? I'd rather not get blasted in the face if just being too near triggers it..."
History - magic items; arcana: 2D20.HIGH(1)+1 = [4, 12]+1 = 13
1D20+4 = [6]+4 = 10
(Made two rolls of things I'd figure fitting... Let me know if you'd want anything else.)

((Does Ulmwin have something that gives him advantage on magic item history? Your Artificer's Lore racial feature lets you add twice your proficiency bonus to certain checks, but not advantage. So that would be a History check of 8?))

You're pretty certain it's magical, but aren't sure how it had been enchanted or how it is activated. At least it isn't proximity based...
