Mehr's... Not of the front lines at the moment, right? So he'll hold his ground.
My game:
Hunters of Letrua; Character list
Also Player / Monster stats, skill lists.

My characters:
Tugs Tails, the goblin that was sort of a trapper and wears a bear's tail at his neck, for some reason - Lair of the Mountain King (Run by Thinks)
Alex Sparo, A city boy, poor of sight, who has learned to manipulate people and make the most of what he, and others, have - Trinity Isles (Run by Mort)
Mehriv Turajin, a Noble Dragonborn Sorcerer sent from his clan because he wasn't dragony enough. - The Wandering Archipelago (Run by Thinks)

He's not, but the others were generally retreating last turn so he might end up there.

And now you're in front of me. But alright, I'll retreat.

Mehriv shoots at the last lizard and retreats back 30 feet with the rest of the group.

Gwen does not recognise the call, but something about it reminds her of a mix of an owls call, and maybe a big dog or something.

Syli quickly scampers up a tree, taking cover in the higher boughs whilst still finding a spot that gives her a view of the clearing.

...although being a ginger cat makes her stand out a smidge.

--Stealth (+4): I'm typing these in right, right? (Crit-Fail)

((Although technically, if the owlbear has less than a +4 modifier to Perception, she might still stay hidden from it))

Kal takes a swing at the remaining lizard.

Any chance Varsk has an idea what is coming?

Maybe?

Perception: 1d20+4 = 16 or I guess 15 if it should have been nature.

Syli scampers up a tree, where she crouches behind a far-too-small leaf. Everyone in the party can see her. She can see a bit of the clearing, but all the surrounding trees are dense and about the same height, so she really doesn't get much of a vantage point from here.

((Waiting to hear if Kal's moving forward to use his melee attack)).

Varsk listens to the sound. He doesn't recognise it either, but thinks it sounds a bit like some sort of weird dog-like howl mixed with a bird call. He's not sure though. City Life didn't exactly prepare him for understanding wild animal calls in the swamp.

City Life has seemingly not prepared Varsk for the entire trip so far. You know, beyond the killing things.

Hmm. I guess Kal will hold position. I figured he could step forward, finish the thing, and thus free us up to fight or flee from the owlbear. But maybe it's better to wait. The lizard might run off or even fight the owlbear if it's cornered. Kal's primary concern is the safety of the group. And he's not going to kill a natural creature if he doesn't have to.

Ok, sounds good.

Kal stays put for now, watching as the last remaining lizard snorts loudly in the direction of the strange call, and dashes back the the pool with a splash.

If I hear it, it makes no sense to me...

Nature?: 1D20 = [7] = 7

((Do I hear it?))

I scurry forward and retrieve my two darts, and the head back up the trail away from the pond.

((Depending on where that puts me, and what effort is needed to get my darts, may be looking to Dash.))

((nope, you haven't heard anything yet except a splash. You're pretty sure that's from the pond.))

Korrik hurries to the dead lizard at Kal's feet and retrieves his darts from being jammed in the lizards hide. He hurries back down the path, making it about 20 feet.

((I'm going to call dart recovery an action since it's not as trivial as just grabbing something off the ground))

((Right in the middle of them all I think. Kal is closest to the pond, Syli is up a tree and I think Varsk / Mehriv we're further back. I'll see if I can make a map update this evening, but noones more than 50-60 feet from the clearing.))

Gwen will (braverly) run away. "Whatever is scaring the lizards are coming closer! It sounds like an owl and a ...dog? Whatever it is, I don't want to be around when it gets here."

Varsk watches Gwen run by and will follow at a slower pace watching the clearing. Readying an attack if something comes at them.
