I think you could make an investigation check to study the bridge and try and work out how to fix it or assess its stability. If there's anything in anyone's background that would justifiably fit this kind of task let me know and you can have ADV on the roll.

Kal grew up in a forest village where rope bridges just like this are as common as sidewalks are elsewhere (I've described it before as being somewhat similar to the Ewok village), and he's helped helped maintain some of them. This one is much longer than the ones he's used to, though.
Mostly offline/inactive due to chronic health issues. PM me if you really need attention.

((I'd be more familiar with ship rigging, but in a scampering across way rather than maintaining it way.))

Kal climbs up and makes quick work checking the ropes on the bridge, pulling on them and testing them carefully with his body weight. The remaining three ropes at least seem sturdy enough for a careful (if tricky) crossing. It would be better if they could repair the fourth rope of course, but it should be passable if you're careful and don't all try and cross at once.

Varsk will look at Merric then to Mehriv as he seems to welcome the crazed halfling to the group.

"Mr. Scratchy? What are you doing here. Over the course of two days we have nearly been eaten three times and you are just sitting here waiting for trolls?"

Upon hearing Kal's assessment of the bridge he will suggest that a lighter, and sane, halfling (looking at Korrik) go first with a rope to stabilize the bridge. If we want the rope back we can have Syli untie the rope then do her...cat trick to cross.

He will also glare at any suggesting he is a stray.

"Hmm? A name? I guess you can call me Merric and if I remember correctly it should be in the strawno region?
As for the bridge, maybe a bit of rope might help, not that I have any.."

"Mr. Scratchy? What are you doing here. Over the course of two days we have nearly been eaten three times and you are just sitting here waiting for trolls?"

"Why would I wait on trolls? They eat people! And you clearly are going the wrong places if you are about to be eaten that often.. Mr. Scratchy is the only trouble I've had lately and that was mostly my own fault.. Speaking of which.. We should really get going before Mr. Scratchy gets back and thinks I decided to hold a party instead.. He will have a fit when he gets back!"

Gwen looks at the new halfing confused. She did not see any 'strawno' region on the map. (i just checked) The tries to remember where 'strawno' is.

"I'm sure he don't, it worked yesterday before the scaled ones tampered with it. I can tie the rope for you."

Merric will tie the rope around Korrik and then proceed to an intimate hug.

"Shhh, open you mind to me before you go over there, I'll know if you get in trouble then."

Syli cocks her head at the two halflings hugging it out up in the tree. "...er... what're... I mean, not judging, but I don't think now's really the time or place."

Syli then moves closer to the bank underneath the bridge, in case the intrepid halfling monk needs a rescue.

I try to get away, but this Merric fellow catches me by surprise.

Acrobatics: Not ready for hugs: 1D20+6 = [2]+6 = 8

I give Syli a look somewhere between "shut up" and "HELP".

I believe we already got down from the tree.

"Just don't resist, be open."

Merric ignores Gwen, seemingly only focusing on Korrik and forcing his surprise hug on him.

Spider will you resist my magic?

Gwen goes to help Korric (giving him adv next time he tries) and looks at Merric. Merric hears one word in his mind yelling at him. <STOP.>

Syli frowns, her bemusement fading to concern as the strange halfling continues his advances against Korrik's wishes. Stepping forward, she snarls an incantation, causing plants to burst from the ground and attempt to ensnare the stranger. "Alright, jackass, I don't know who you think you are, but you're real damn close to learning a painful lesson in personal space."

--Entangle (DC13 STRSave): On failed save, creature is restrained until spell ends (targeted to only hit Merric).

((for the purposes of this, Merric and Korric are effectively grappling, so you wouldn't be able to entangle one and not the other unless Korrik gets free. Either way, I'll take an Acrobatics or Athletics check from Korrik to see if he can unstick himself from the hug and a STR check from Merric to escape the vines. Well see if Korrik needs to roll for the vines after all that.))

Korrik wriggles free of the unwanted surprise hug, leaving Merric standing in a bunch of sprouting vines with a shout voice in his head.

((I'll need that Str save from theis - the first one was to grab Korrik I assume))

The only magic Gwen is aware of is her own telepathic shouting and the vines that have suddenly begun to twist and wind their way towards Korrik and Merric.

I'll take a STR or DEX save from Korrik at this point I think.
