Syli's coordination is all thrown off from her new transformation abilities and the stone goes wide.

Kal rushes the last few feet, but in his haste loses his footing.

Dex: 1D20+1 = [6]+1 = 7

What now? Do I need to stand up? Can I do so this turn? Can I use the rest of my action to try again for the bank?

((One DEX check for the whole crossing is fine - you're able to make it across this turn no problem. It's difficult terrain for 15 feet (river & bank), but then you're back on dry land))

The snake is hurting badly, but doesn't seem ready to give up on its meal just yet. Hissing angrily, it keeps hold of Korrik, but moves to the river bank to lunge and bite at Kal, but misses horribly:

Bite attack: 1D20+6 = [1]+6 = 7

Kal can make an opportunity attack if he'd like to.

1D20+5 = [3]+5 = 8

So what's the situation now? I can make it to the bank, with 10 feet of movement to spare, and then I'll have an action? Can I lay hands on Korrik?

Mehriv blasts the snake again with his magic missile spell. It recoils in pain from the attack and loosens its grip slightly on Korrik as the blood from its many injuries begins to flow down the bank and into the river. The snake can't have much fight left in it now...

Kal is up, and can certainly make it to Korrik if you'd like to.

After Kal, we have Varsk and then Gwen.

Kal darts out of the river, circling a little wide of the snake's head, and, disregarding his own safety, pours everything he has into Korrik.

Varsk watches as Kal makes it across before moving to take Gwen's crossbow from her.

He'll scan it briefly before quickly loading and taking aim on the snake and firing - looking and listening for the sound of impact, teeth gritted.

Attack: 1d20+5 = 12
Damage: 1d8+3 = 9

"Gotta get one of these..."

Kal rushes under the snakes fangs, and grabs Korrik's limp body, imbuing him with life again (I assume you're transferring the ful 10HP?).

Varsk takes Gwen's crossbow from her and lines up the shot, firing a bolt into the creature's thick neck. It collapses to the ground, finally dead.

Varsk hands the crossbow back to Gwen and pats her on the head before heading across the water. He has got some axes to reclaim.

Varsk successfully fords the river to join the others, pausing to bring a rope with him at Kal's suggestion.

Gwen and Mehriv are the only ones left to cross.

"I am not using it, you can borrow it while you are with us." Gwen frowns at the prospect of crossing the river, clenching her fists tightly as she starts walking twoard the other end, trying hard not to think about going through the river.

Yes, 10hp. Everything he's got.

"The next to cross should bring a rope to help the rest along," Kal calls across.

Varsk pauses then turns back and grabs an end of the rope and makes sure Mehr has grip on the other end and heads back across.

Have edited the last update to include the rope. Let me know how Mehriv intends to use it.

Gwen heads into the cool water, and also successfully Ford's the river, trying hard to ignore the slimy feel of the rocks underfoot and the occasional thing that bumps into her legs.

My eyes flutter open to see Kal leaning over me. "Yay... we won...", I say in a small voice.

"...at least this one didn't have poison..."

Gwen sighs in relief when she is on the other side before panic sets in. "Where is the kitty?"

Staggering to my feet, and shaking the cobwebs loose, I hear Gwen's question. "Did the snake eat it instead of me?" Scrabbling to the dead beast's mouth, I prod my staff in to try to force the jaws apart. "Kitty? You in there?"

Wrangling the snake's jaws open with his staff, Korrik is greeted with the stench of rotten meat and a glimpse of something large and silvery lodged in the creature's throat.

I'll take a CON save please.

Varsk will go and examine the snake corpse and watch blankly as Korrik jerks it's head. He will tie the rope to a tree before freeing the axes and, if possible recovering the bolt, completely missing the silver in the snake's throat.

"We should go as soon as the dragonborn crosses. This ::gestures at the bloody mess of snake:: and the noise will probably brin' more predators. If animals are like people in cities.

Best back to followin' the river."

He will consider the snake for a while before adding,

"Though it'd be unfortunate to leave this.

He will then return to scanning the jungle until the rest are ready to move.

Varsk will glance at what Korrik indicates and move to peer into it's throat before shoving his arm down it's throat to pull out the shiny.

"Sure"
