The lizardman looks at Mehriv passively, his features hardening just a little when he notices Varsk's pantomime. Still, he says nothing and rests his head back down on the platform, letting his eyes half close. He seems quite calm.

Gwen stands to the side and tries to make thundery sounds, but although they're quite good, they don't fool anyone into believing it's real thunder.

[Pay attention. If you help us, we won't have to kill as many of your people. I swear this on the honour of the Great Dragons. Do you wish to force us to exterminate your clan? You are a disgrace to all the draconian races, honourless coward, to forsake their lives in this way.]

"[Please, I don't want to have to kill you. We're not here to hurt your clan. We're passing through to find someone from the city. If you'll help us, we can avoid bloodshed]," Kal implores in Draconic.

The lizardman looks up at Mehriv and gives a wry laugh.

In draconic:
"You are the one dressed up as a soft-skin, cousin, not I. You can keep your damned dragons, I will not betray my people."

Varsk glances down at the crocs eating the fallen lizardfolk. He wonders if there will be enough left to claim the 5g reward...

((all you need is proof of the kill. Whether that's the word of a "person of good standing" (e.g. scribe, noble, paladin/cleric of a trustworthy deity, or something physical / magical (I'll leave it to you guys to decide on something workable), is up to you. But this is a pseudo-medieval setting, so accepting someone's word for stuff on good faith is not going to be that uncommon)).

The lizardman watches Mehriv but says nothing, and soon closes his eyes again and tries to control his breathing. For all his attempts to appear calm, Korrik can feel the lizardman's pulse racing underneath his fingers.

Kal is sure that these lizardfolk must follow some gods, but he has no idea which ones or how they might worship them... His musings are interrupted by a sudden feeling of dread, as it occurs to him that the bonds around the creature's hands will do very little to stop him from speaking a spell (if he isn't already casting one!) and who knows what kinds of strange magic these people might have!?

Syli carefully sneaks up on the gator, so as not to disturb its meal, attempting to quietly lift the bow in her mouth and pull it away without drawing its ire.

The 'gator is more interested in the corpse than a random stick, and Syli manages to drag it slowly away to the base of the main tree without too much difficulty. As she reaches it, she catches another glimpse of the floating light. It's much further away now, and is only in view for a second before it vanishes again.

Gwen sighs and pulls out her dagger and bends down. "Sorry." She winces as she slits his throat. (Does he have anything on him?)

((You've taken it already. He was carrying a shortsword, throwing net (which has been dropped to the ground), and a belt pouch containing the bone token)).

The lizardman dies.

Gwen grimaces and pushes the leader lizard off for the crocs to eat after cutting off one of his fingers as proof of the kill. At the very least other lizard people won't find it so easily.

"Time to be outta here. Which way we goin'?"

Once the direction has been picked Varsk will help the lizardfolk's work on the bridge so it is likely to give out should any great weight be placed on it (in the direction they came from).
