Syli stays low, expertly utilizing what little foliage and tall grass there was to blend in surprisingly well for a ginger cat, her feline senses seeming to pick up even the smallest details of her environment...

Syli... [rolls]
--Perception (+5): Crit! (25)
--Stealth (+4): 23

((I think Syli finally figured out how to become an effective cat))

Merric sees nothing. He wanted to continue to bombard the lizardmen with eldritch blast, but I'm not sure if they are still within range after they took cover.

Merric perception: 1D20+1 = [2]+1 = 3

Korrik and Mehriv follow behind Kal and Varsk, leaving Gwen and Merric to provide ranged cover from the back.

Merric and Gwen estimate that the lizardfolk archers are probably JUST within range of their Eldritch blasts (in half cover) but the other two (including the injured leader) have pulled back out of their range around the back of the tree into three quarters cover.

Despite the din from the horn blasts, Varsk, Mehriv and Gwen hear a single, long answering blast from somewhere off to the south-east.

Down below, Syli hunkers down amongst the tufts of grass on a little dry hummock of ground sticking up from the surrounding flooded marsh and hides. A glint from a nearby submerged log catches her eye and she realises that she's not alone down here! The alligator blinks lazily and watches the river.

((Ok, let's go back to the top of the turn order now you've regrouped and made your plan))

------------------

Turn order:

Merric
Varsk
Lizardfolk
Korrik
Gwen
Mehriv
Kal
Syli

Merric decides it's about time he proves he is worthy of his gifts and focuses his blast at the closest lizardman right in the head.

Merric eldritch blast: 1D20+5 = [20]+5 = 25
Eldritch blast damage: 2D10 = [4, 9] = 13

Merric channels the full force of his power and lets it rip at one of the archers, leaving a smoking wound in the side of the creature's chest. He staggers, badly hurt, but still standing.

Varsk is up.

Varsk focuses on the goal and dashes as quickly as he can across the bridge trying to see what the leader and crew are doing.

If it looks like they are cutting the bridge (or setting up another trap) Varsk will use his action surge to interrupt that the best he can (moving as needed) - likely with a large hammer. Or a stern talking to. We'll see.

This will put Varsk around 30 ft away from the end of the bridge right?
(Or he holds and double moves when Kal can move with him so the group stays together and he gets that sweet, sweet +2 to AC. Not sure how this will work as we are all moving at different times. After which he will do the check to see what the leader and crew are doing. Need a perception roll? Here it is (14)!

((I THINK that following RAW, you'd only be able to hold the dash action, not the movement. So you guys could move forward at normal pace (30 feet), but not using the double-move. That would make sense I think, since staying together under Kal's protection would presumably require some amount of slow-down, but I'll let you guys clarify what you'd prefer before I have the lizardfolk act. Dashing would get you across to the far end of the bridge, and underneath the archers.))

As long as you keep one hand free for the bridge, you don't need to roll. Do anything boisterous (like attacking or jumping about) or that needs two hands, and I'll be looking for DEX checks to keep your balance.

Varsk dashes across the bridge, leaving Kal behind. On reaching the far tree, he finds himself below two small wooden platforms where the archers are keeping watch and shout as Varsk arrives. The other guard, who you spoke to first is around the back of the tree, hacking at the sturdy bridge supports with a machete.

The injured leader (who was carrying a net when you last saw him) isn't immediately visible.

((Varsk was possibly doing more, then the lizards go, with me after that, yes? How much movement (including Kal being difficult terrain?) would it take for me to get to where Varsk is now?))

((Varsk has his bonus / free actions to take if he wants them, yes. I'll move on with the lizardfolk actions later today. With Korrik's 35 feet movement, he could dash to behind Varsk this turn.))

It'd be about 10 feet above you on a platform in the branches.

Action surge

Seeing that the lizardfolk have a similar problem solving strategy to what he would employ Varsk pulls out his maul and introduces it to the hacking lizard, watching for the missing giant lizard as best he can.

"You're doin' it wrong! Ya should step back to get a better swing! Like this."

Dex: 16

Attack: 1d20+6=15
Damage: 2d6+2 = 9 (I accidentally added +4 instead of 2 so I just subtracted 2. Let me now if you need a new roll)

Varsk crunches his mail into the lizardfolk's side, making him stumble slightly and turn his full attention away from hacking at the vines...

A shout from above alerts Varsk at the last moment to the injured leader, and he sidesteps a net attack:
Net attack: 2D20.LOW(1)+2 = [5, 10]+2 = 7

The other lizardfolk steps forward with a shortsword and swings at him, but Varsk easily deflects that attack too:
Net attack: 1D20+2 = [10]+2 = 12

Above, the archers continue to focus their attention on those crossing the bridge, where they can get the best shot, but it doesn't really do them much good as one shot goes wide and another clangs off of Kal's armor.

Shortbow attack: 1D20+2 = [2]+2 = 4
1D20+2 = [9]+2 = 11

I run forward, drawing in desperation on my inner strength for greater speed. (Spend 1 ki for Step of the Wind to take a Dash as Bonus Action)

((At the end of my 75 ft, what distances and coverage do the lizardfolk have from me? Would I be able to make main and offhand dart attacks?))
