Riddles

Post by Loki » Thu Feb 28, 2013 7:03 pm

I know there was a Riddles game in one of the previous incarnations of the forum, but I enjoyed them, so I figured I would start a new one. The person that answers correctly can post a new riddle, or pass and let the first poster put up a new one.

#1
Metal or bone I may be,
Many Teeth I have and always bared,
Yet my bite harms no one
And ladies delight in my touch.

Of course the guy named Loki would do this. Is it a comb? I'm going to let you confirm before I put another one.

It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.

It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills.

It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.

No cheating now.

I move without wings,
Between silken strings,
I leave as you find,
My substance behind.

What always runs but never walks, often murmurs, never talks, has a bed but never sleeps, has a mouth but never eats?

What word in the English language uses all five vowels plus Y in alphabetical order and uses each one only once?

It walks on straw withount noise, walks on water and doesn't sink, walks in fire and doesn't burn.

I think original answer can walk in slightly less metaphorical sense, than light.

But wind does make a sound. Likewise, I can't see it being air, as it would burn in certain cases.
