Re: MotBM
(( Dang it!))
Dain will step forward enough to see the snake mosaic and then blast it with Ray of Frost, then step back. (I think that's a 2d6 spell at Dain's level. Can someone confirm that for me? I'm working from memory right now.))

Ah'sereen sighs. Seems were attacking the floor then... ((Do I have an angle for short bow, and would I have sneak attack? If not, I'll do my insight vs deception.))

If you walk right over you could shoot the floor, but it'd be in melee range and it might bounce weird if you miss
What deception are you trying to see through?

((It's my archetype feature.))
Guess I'd do that then rapier it. Though if someone else is in range of her, I'd have sneak anyway.
Insight; Rapier: 1D20+9 = [5]+9 = 14
1D20+7 = [4]+7 = 11

Re: MotBM
Dain strikes the mosaic with a powerful blast of ice and the tiles crack and crumble under the rapid temperature changes. Ah'Sereen walks up to her and tries to stab her rapier into a gap, but she misses her target as Cyanoxanthia weaves and melts out of the way.
With a hiss and a howl, she turns and flees into the depths of the mosaic, vanishing out of sight far more quickly than you might have expected. You wonder if it's a trick of the two-dimensional nature of the mosaic.

Re: MotBM
Erik sticks close to Warryn, trying to pick out the snake's location through scent or hearing rather than sight.

Re: MotBM
Erik can't make heads or tails of the mosaic unfortunately, and it all appears much the same to him. You're not sure if it's because the woman is gone, or because she is some sort of construct of the mosaic and Erik just can't tell the difference between her and the rest of the artwork.

"...did anyone see where it went?"
Edging cautiously into the room, Warryn studies the mosaic tiles, trying to discern the magic behind them that allows Cyanoxanthia to do....whatever she does.

arcana: 1D20+6 = [3]+6 = 9 ((Still rolling contrary ))
Dain doesn't know where she went and doesn't care: "Bloody spooks! She's lucky you all were in the way, or I'd have really given her something to scream about..."

Re: MotBM
Warryn examines the mosaic. It's certainly magical, but it's a type of magic that he's not encountered before and it seems to be fading... It's like a portal or dimensional door or something, and he suspects it's two-way. ...It might even be the same sort of magic that got them stuck in this maze-through-a- painting in the first place! If he had to guess, he thinks that the creature they just tried to blow up probably has some amount of control over the portal-like magic.

Re: MotBM
"Hmm...it's like the painting. Two-way portal magic. I doubt we can control it though..."
"If we're going to cross this room, I'd suggest we do it quickly. Before that...thing has time to recover."
If the others agree to move on, Warryn crosses to the opposite door (letting someone else go first, naturally). He has a Fire Bolt readied in case Cyanoxanthia comes back before they can reach the other side.

Art is willing to go first, and as he walks through the room he looks to see if there is anything in the room at all, other than the mosaic.
