Dain moves to the edge of the goop and cautiously pokes a dagger into it. It sinks slowly into the viscous matter but nothing else surprising happens until an eyeball floats past and casts a glance at him. As it floats by, Dain is frozen, completely unable to move.
A few seconds later and the eyeball has floated away and Dain is able to pull away from the side of the pool.

Aura smiles, gently reaching out an hand to try and pat the weird boy on his head. "There, everything alright..! You probably should be a bit more careful, right..? If those chess pieces were dangerous, I have little doubt there's other scary stuff in here, too."

(Just realized that with Aura's life domain, the boy would have healed another 3 HP, for what it's worth. I don't think Aura can heal him all the way back up with how much damage got dealt to him, but still. )

She shakes her head, quickly trying to correct herself. "No no, don't worry, I'm not going to bring them back here..!" she says, considering trying to amend the situation... But realizes she'd probably only make things worse.
