Requests for Forums/Features?
Not sure if this should be placed elsewhere, but I didn't see a spot so...
Would it be possible to have a recruitment area for the forums games? That way, attempts to start a new game won't get lost in the sea of active current games.

Re: Requests for Forums/Features?
We could set that up. I've actually been trying to find a way to give game masters the ability to move their own threads but it doesn't seem to be possible.

Once I get past the current point of Assignments trying to crush me to death, I might put up one or two ideas for games and see if anyone's interested.

Re: Requests for Forums/Features?
I just searched for such mod. People say that moving threads requires access to moderator panel and can not be done easily. That's the main proplem of phpBB: being the most unflexible forum ever possible.SeeAMoose wrote:I've actually been trying to find a way to give game masters the ability to move their own threads but it doesn't seem to be possible.

Yep, that's about what I found too, but there are mods for more limited self moderation. They just aren't quite up to date.gamecreator wrote: SeeAMoose wrote:I've actually been trying to find a way to give game masters the ability to move their own threads but it doesn't seem to be possible.

Re: Requests for Forums/Features?
I've been on other phpBB-based systems which have a button for "multi-quote", that is, for quoting multiple posts in one reply.
Is that possible here?

Re: Requests for Forums/Features?
You can individually quote by scrolling down past the reply area and hitting the quote button on the upper right corner. Unfortunately it doesn't scroll past like 20 posts.TinSoldier wrote:I've been on other phpBB-based systems which have a button for "multi-quote", that is, for quoting multiple posts in one reply.

Re: Requests for Forums/Features?
It appears that phpBB can do multiquote by default. And, of course, in the most unpractical way: you have to go to full reply and there select all posts you wanted to quote (if you can remember them all without re-reading).

Okay, that seems to work. The mechanism that I'm remembering specifically is more of a selection mechanism. I think that the GitP forums has something like it too, where you click a " on each post and then "quote" finally at the end.
This works, it's just not intuitive.

Just checking that it's not just me, is there a probation period after signing up where you can't create new topics? I'm not seeing the New Topic button on any of the subforums and I wanted to get Clan Altogetha up and running again

Re: Requests for Forums/Features?
Yes, it's an unfortunate but necessary setting, but it should only be 2-3 posts.

Re: Requests for Forums/Features?
In the Community subforum, we have several art-related threads. Should we have an art and artist subforum for emoticons, avatars and avatar requests, just plain showing off our awesome artwork, and discussion of such works of art?

Not particularly... but I will anyways. Your "suggestion" to pick up and move everything simply because you clearly dislike phpbb was far from helpful, and to be honest did not merit a more detailed response.
However, because you asked I will elaborate. We are sticking with phpBB. First, most of the major work is already done. Second, we already have a forum configured the way we want it. Third, everyone here is already familiar with this software. Finally, I have no interest at all in creating even more work for myself simply because you don't like phpbb.
I hope that didn't come across as too harsh... but the answer will not be changing any time soon.

Re: Requests for Forums/Features?
But I dislike phpBB for it's crippled functionality, not for no reason. However, as long as you are satisfied with what you got, there is nothing I can do (except, probably, learn about phpBB modding).
Also I did not found profile field for gender anywhere in user CP.

It does, it was a screw up on my end, you should be able to see it now.
