"Oi, William, I think you should try and put that yellow orb into that yellow indention near that portal thingy and see what happens." Walks whispers, as soon as she's out of the room where she could be overheard by mice.

The posse moves down to the bat cave for an extraction mission.
Laughs waits at the sideline for someone else to take the fall for this horrible idea.
Soars sneaks over to the the corpse and "searches", he sees a blue orb which is faintly glowing, a skeleton and an old journal.
Tells also walks over the corpse and proceeds to loot everything that isn't nailed down, a journal and the blue orb.
Everything was going perfectly fine and the bats who hung to the cavern above were either dead, asleep or didn't give a shit, until someone ran into the room.
Right runs into the room to act as the sacrificial lamb, as he does so, the white bat in the middle opens his eyes and stares at all of you, the other two bats continue to ignore you and feign being asleep.

Walks closely (without touching) examines the barrels, the smell of alcohol is clear discernible, but otherwise it's the worst smelling grog she's ever had the experience of smelling. Luckily, the bad smelling liquid is trapped inside the barrels. Walks sneaks back out the way she came and meets William who is going on about the need to kill the mice.

Right, I guess you might as well keep being the lure...", a bit bummed that he didn't end up getting to loot anything, Laughs will carefully move forward and collect some guano in his pewter cup. Cause who knows when you might need some guano? He'll work with the others to to help everyone get out of the cave safely if they can.

If bats attack, he will too.

"Hey, William would you please give me the yellow orb to try and put it into that door's indention, if you don't want to try that?" Walks asks.
If she is given the orb, or William wants to try it himself, she'll climb back into the portal room (and insert orb into indention, if it was given to her). If hostiles appear, she pokes them with the pointy stick.
Else Walks will idle while waiting for more back up.

(I really wish we had some way to make fire. We could just smoke those mice out with THAT amount of alcohol. OTOH, we might get a sweet bonus from Savage, if we bring back some barrels of that to the GAL HQ. ^^)

Righteous OneGrabs a bone to use as a clubbing weapon, since he seems to be the only one without. Then seeing as Laughs had a similar idea as him, he will smear the end of his new club in the guano.

(added after badge mentioned they might be sentient) After making sure he is properly equipped "hey bats can you guys talk." if no response, one of the following:

If everyone wants to leave, he will follow.

If anyone wants to fight with the bats, he will throw handful of guano at the bats in an attempt to provoke them. And then pray there is somewhere nearby to wash his hands.

Righteous One is intrigued but the white bat's coloring, and thinks it would make a righteous pet if captured. So he hopes his comrades would choose the second, if they could think of some way to restrain it.

In that case substitute "throw a handful of guano at the bats" with "make taunts about their mothers" if the team goes for the attack plan. Seems like the more hygienic route.

Though seeing if their amiable might be the most reasonable route....

William looks at Walks...I really would prefer to see that Journal the others found before sticking the orb into a slot on the portal it may open a door but too somewhere you don't want to go...

William will go down and stick the yellow orb in the right pocket but walk away from the portal after doing so...

The posse exits the bat cave carefully in expectation of an attack. Right picks up a bone from the skeleton and then talks about the bats momma, but the bats continue to ignore the party. As the posse leave the cave, the last one out notices that the 3 bats fly out of the cavern.

Against his will (as it seems), William climbs down the ladder and places the yellow orb in the wall depression. The yellow circle glows and fills part of the portal frame. 1/4 of the portal frame is now filled.

As Walks waits for the others, she sits down on the floor. She tries to avoid, as best she can, looking in the general direction of the dead mice that she had so reluctantly killed.

Erm, NO. Sorry, Badge, but this is something Walks would NEVER do. Sit on an corpse of a sentient, recently TALKING to her opponent, which she only reluctantly killed. Please take this out of the update.
She might sit on the floor and lean against the wall. She might twiddle her thumbs. In other situations (e.g. no potential hostiles in the next room who might hear her) she might whistle. But clearly NOT sitting on a dead, sentient mouse just for the heck of it.


Walks waits until more goblins are here. If any can move as far as the next room (though the passage in the back wall), she'll accompany them. If anyone attacks them, poke them with her pointy stick. (Preferably someone she can hurt and/or kill.)

William sighs with relief that nothing horrible happened....yet? and climbs the area to where walks is waiting. William & Walks then head into the tunnel to the barrel storage area. The rabble sound from the top of the ladder sounds the same but maybe a little louder (unable to make out distinct words). The voices behind the curtain at the other end of the room however can be somewhat heard and based on the high pitched squeaking sounds, its potentially two mice in the throes of passion.

The posse (that should have a name) climb the rope into the portal room and then climb the ladder to the area where the two dead mice are chilling out.

OOC: If he can't manage to carry one without leaving his weapon behind, he'll just drag it as best he can.

Righteous One will continue through the tunnel.

Presuming everyone else is up there with him, he will try to stealthily peak behind the curtain (hoping what's happening isn't what he thinks is happening). Hopefully with the others help he can set up an ambush and catch the mice by surprise before they can grab weapons or sound an alarm and by doing so prevent a fight.

Walks stays behind William and tries to be as silent as possible. If a fight starts, she'll stick her pointy stick into some hostile. (As always, preferably one she can hurt/kill.)


@ Laughs: if we run into the mice unaware, we MIGHT be able to bluff our way into a more favorable situation. If you drag a corpse into that conversation, they'll know instantly we're the 'bad guys' (at least to them) and will probably attack before we can learn anything else...
