But yeah, Tyrogue.
And yeah, they get everything from previous evolutions.

Thank you very much for not picking the Ice Type, Natrivv
Though knowing my luck, all of the NPCs I fight will have at least one on their team

Re: Trinity Isles OOC
I was actually very tempted by both snover, and lileep, but 7 weaknesses, and a tank with no way of recovering is not what I want to go into the tournament with.

Re: Trinity Isles OOC
Eugh... getting kinda shafted on the selectable pokemon here. Probably shouldn't have passed that Gible up, even though it wouldn't get STAB from Tackle and Dragon Rage isn't that good.... Hell, I probably should've picked up the Hoothoot, actually.
Would it be too much to ask to re-roll the Tyrogue? Since you rolled Hitmonchan, I'm assuming you have it listed 3-4 separate times, one for each evolution

Re: Trinity Isles OOC
To be fair Vader, you kinda backed yourself into a corner by not picking from the other options. Which weren't actually all that bad, IMO.
Hoothoot has STAB Peck, a Sky Speed, and Hypnosis (I know Sleep is nerfed in PTU, but it would've at least let you set up Smokescreen's, Growls, Leers, and even Poison damage if you hit them with Smog first).
Tyrogue has Fake Out for free damage (and it can be used multiple times a battle in PTU, if you switch out).
Spinarak can slow your opponent with String Shot spam, then plink away from range with Poison Sting.
Hell, even if it doesn't have any reliable damage, Togepi at least has Metronome for some hilarious randomness. And it was on the evolution boundary too, probably giving you a flier at some point during the tournament.
Even your last three choices aren't actually as bad as they might seem. Chatot, for example, has STAB Peck and the utility of Mirror Move. I'm not going to give you my thoughts on the two you picked though, for obvious reasons

Re: Trinity Isles OOC
Nioca, Lv10 'mons start with 90xp, not 100xp. So your team should have 95xp each now. Same applies to Don (though without the Training buff, obviously).

Hey I just wanted to double check something, standard action, and command action are still separate from each other right?

Re: Trinity Isles OOC
Hoothoot - Sky Speed doesn't do a lot of good when everything it knows but Hypnosis is within Melee range, Dusk.Dusk9 wrote:To be fair Vader, you kinda backed yourself into a corner by not picking from the other options. Which weren't actually all that bad, IMO.
Tyrogue - Tyrogue also has awful stats and no STAB, so Fake Out would usually only serve to balance that out.
Spinarak - That's all well and good until the ranged attackers start rolling in, if the Spinarak even got that far.
Togepi - You have a point with evolution and with Metronome, I didn't realize it was Scene x2 now. Still, only Struggle attacks for direct damage after that point, with no Atk stat to speak of.
Chatot - Decent choice, but I felt the others were better choices.
This is all without mentioning that I have almost no type coverage to speak of. Only thing Flying moves have over Fire are their strength over Fighting.
Also if I run into any Rock-types, I'm pretty much done-for.

Wait what?
*checks*
...er, oops. I think I'm going to have to check Soren too, because I might've made the same mistake there.
EDIT: Nope, Soren checks out.

Re: Trinity Isles OOC
@Vader: Hey, I never said they were amazing choices
And my options weren't much better than yours, mind you. Half my team is weak to Ice, and my only answer is a slow melee fighter that's just gonna get Thunder Waved and kited if it ever goes up against that bloody Amaura. Especially since the dice apparently hate us, and gave it Solid Rock of all things!

That'll probably be because I fixed it myself ages ago. I'm sure I mentioned it in the OOC thread at the time, but it's possible I forgot to. Or you overlooked it.Nioca wrote: EDIT: Nope, Soren checks out.

Re: Trinity Isles OOC
Even without thunder wave makuhita have a land speed of 4, amaura have land speed of 5, rock throw has a range of 6. Soo basically amaura will be trolling.

Re: Trinity Isles OOC
Don't take it personally, but I reeeeeeeeeeally hope we don't end up battling in the preliminary rounds. Or, if we both get through to the final eight, one of the others knocks you out first

Re: Trinity Isles OOC
Technically speaking, the Solrock probably would've been a better choice for the tournament than Espurr, but they were both pretty good, and RP-wise, I preferred the Espurr. Also, Tynamo probably wasn't the best considering the second set, but I was hoping for a 1-stager that wasn't basically a stationary Water Gun emplacement (*cough*Basculin*cough*). Charge Beam could get pretty nasty if I get the opportunity to kite with Levock, though, so I'm not complaining.
All-in-all, I'm satisfied with my choices.

Hey, Mort, would "One With the Winds" allow me to see stuff in darkness (i.e. ignore the Blindness and Total Blindness debuffs)?

Re: Trinity Isles OOC
Hmm, considering it's a two AP ability, let's say yeah. I'd like to say it would work only to X meters, but I'm not even sure how that would work.

Re: Trinity Isles OOC
The range is already limited to my Per Rank + Acro Rank, so I guess just say that I can't see anything further than that distance away? And apply the AC penalties if I try to use an attack at that distance?
