GASP. I am shocked how much I am disturbed by this quick dismissal of an otherwise rather unlikeable character.
But I bet that we don't see Belkar die means he'll be back faster than Durcula wishes.

Also: weird how he's flying so far away. From the window to the roof elements is a rather expected fall curve. After that (last panel of second row of second page), the gravity seems to have lost Belkar a bit.

The prophecy does not say Belkar's dead. Only that Belkar will not breath anymore.
IRL this would likely mean the same. But in this comic not

He mentions Belkar not needing to fund his IRA, and that he should savor his next birthday cake. Then in the strip with the so-you-can-remember-it prophecy, he says Belkar is "not long for this world." All of those together, plus the not breathing seem like they'd be hard to get around.

Man, this brings up memories of the old D&D supplement "Wrath of the Immortals" where during a vote among the gods, Hel also forced a tie (although she did so by abstaining that time) and thus created the biggest war the world of Mystara has ever seen.
