I am really starting to wonder how it didn't occur to any of the Northern gods that Hel would get a crap ton of souls when the entire world died not-in-battle.

I wonder where the ushers went. Did Durkon kill them all? That doesn't really make sense, if he knew he'd need them to get the demigods' representative.

I looks like a spell is blocking the entrance/exit so they can't get in, and nobody can hear. It would make sense that Durkula wouldn't want some rogue ushers going rebel and trying to save the world by helping Roy.

Normally there's a concentration check if you're attacked while casting a spell, based on the damage taken. If you can make the check, you can continue casting the spell.

I believe, Durkula wasn't interrupted by the attack (which was a spellslicer again), but intentionally made a pause to counter the slice

And now we know why the spellslicer died, it simply wasn't effective against magic users who mastered the necessary concentration.
At levels where you learnt spellslicer, the mages were good enough in concentration anyway to make a pause and continue.

Well in normal D&D rules you can't just pause a spell and start it up again. Also the Spellsplinter maneuver isn't in D&D either, that I know of, so there's added rules from his part but Rich tends to be pretty consistent with that kind of stuff.

10hp per caster level up to a max of 150hp at CL15, target can save for half. So, conservatively... A bunch? At least 70-75, possibly 140-150 if Roy didn't save.

With reference to 1006, we assumed initially that Roy's maneuver was designed only to disrupt arcane magic, and failed on Darkon's spell because it is divine, but that Roy has insufficient Spellcraft to have been aware of the distinction (it was never stated that Horace's "great feat" was specific to one type or another, but one would quite probably need to make a Spellcraft check in order to think of asking whether something that affects "magic" is limited by type thereof). Also, for reference, we believe we remember the maneuver being described not as specifically disrupting a spell (the damage in and of itself does that, as per standard rules); instead, the feat's purpose is to allow an Attack of Opportunity against a caster even when they cast defensively. This was stated in the dream-sequence battle with Xykon in book 5; we apologize if we are misremembering.
