Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
So to be clear - can any spell be cast as a ritual just taking extra time, or will it be listed specifically?

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I think it's listed as a ritual spell in the spell list, but not completely sure of that as I haven't seen any yet
Edit: Look at the spell alarm, it's a ritual spell to see an example of how it looks.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I think they're listed separately and take a much longer time to cast (I. E. You couldn't cast one during combat effectively unless it was a lengthy battle and the rest of the party was protecting you).
The casting duration field should help

especially since each turn in a battle is something like 5 seconds? or is 15 seconds...

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
They are listed in the ordinary spell list, they just have the added (ritual) tag next to the spell type (if it's evocation, conjuration or something else).
The ritual casting takes 10 minutes longer and doesn't expend a spell slot. Most of them aren't that good in combat situations so casting them as a ritual seems for the best, except for a few spells like silence that can stop most spellcasting. You have to prepare the spell though in order to cast it like a ritual (if you prepare spells)

Oh, I wasn't expecting to use rituals in battle- I was just wondering if this meant I could use certain spells outside of battle, such as disguise self, without having to sacrifice a spell slot.

I'm fairly sure that using a spell as a ritual does not burn a spell-slot.

Yes and no. You can cast certain spells outside of combat without having to sacrifice a spell slot, but disguise self isn't one of them.M0rtimer wrote:Oh, I wasn't expecting to use rituals in battle- I was just wondering if this meant I could use certain spells outside of battle, such as disguise self, without having to sacrifice a spell slot.
This is a good resource (probably better than the cards I gave earlier), that lets you sort by class, level, whether it's a ritual or not, etc.

Yeah wanted to know if it was all spells or specific ones- turns out it's the latter.
Also turns out Ulmwin will understand all languages at all times!

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
So, I'm thinking about coming up with a nice googles sheets with information about each character once we start. This is not sanctioned by Spider, though I'll most likely grant access to it to him. Would anyone be interested in joining or at the very least giving me your information so that I can add it.
I think it would be nice to have a place where we can all look at each others stats, with the knowledge that a lot of this information would be considered meta.

For those of you who would like to contribute to this "group" sharing of character information, here is the link to the spreadsheet, feel free to fill in information under your own tab.
There is only basic math currently in the sheet, so anything that says __ + __ + ___ = ____ will have formulas in place to auto-tally.

My character is neutral good. I'll have to look at the spreadsheet once I get home. I don't think I'm going to have time to do it at work. I'm pretty sure Spider's got what he needs from me?

yeah, and if any of you don't have the time to add the info in yourself, I'll fill it in for you if you give me your character info that you already have in a different format.

Coljin is NG.
I just received my new 5e books in the mail today!
I will finish up my character sheet hopefully tonight, tho I am stuck at work pretty late. Worst case scenario is it will be finished Thursday evening.

Maybe make it so that people with the link can edit the file?BadgeAddict wrote:For those of you who would like to contribute to this "group" sharing of character information, here is the link to the spreadsheet, feel free to fill in information under your own tab.

I'll do a little consolidation work on it and then post my info so you can look at it, Badge. I've got some of my background scattered over a few posts.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I'm currently working on putting in the formulas in my tab so it automatically refers to the correct places rather than having to put in the correct values in every field just in case the ability scores changes when we get on further.
