I'm following correctly in that we went up part of the slamp to a flat piece, and now we've got another bit to go, right? And consecutively, I'll need to roll STR again? So I can fail and drop to my death?

Well, I understood it to be a 45┬░ Slope of sorts.

But Zephyr climbed to the top and tied the rope off on a boulder, so you guys could probably use that to help you climb the slope.

The whole thing kind of makes me think of an Antlions trap, but with a hole at the bottom.

Won't be able to check on things until late. We're interviewing a physician candidate for the clinic tonight.

If it is actually an ambush, and not just something lying off the road... :P (Yeah, free loot, fat chance I know.)

If it's a horse, that'll speed things up. Provided it's a LIVE horse.

Is the carriage in tact? Because Maji could be a horse bear of burden.

So... the random encounter Badge rolled ended up being centaurs... which gave me an excuse to build some non-standard centaur classes, one of which will be able to help narratively bridge Maji learning how to shape shift into things overnight. The majority of classes have archetypes selected at level 3, and you are all in the process of being leveled to 3, which will involve some RP elements during your downtime. The only ones that don't have archetypes at 3rd are Holger and Coljin, as you selected yours at first level, and Maji, who got it at second level.

Let me know if my recollections are not correct...

Holger: Wild Sorcerer 3
Coljin: Life Cleric 3
Maji: Moon Druid 3
Randerwaith: Hunter Ranger 3
Tess: Arcane Trickster Rogue 3
Zephyr: Eldritch Knight Fighter 3
Rudolph: Oath of Vengeance(?) Paladin 3
Ulmwin: College of Lore(?) Bard 3

I was going for barbarian lv 1 to be a more effective tank, then continue druid until flying and pick up the last 2 barbearial lvs, then continue druid... but I am fine with continuing druid since you seem to want that. :p

That's correct for me, and I'm happy to go later in the turn order since I'm probably going to lose power / internet for a bunch of the week anyway.

Yeah, college of lore seems like the safe/better bet to take.

We can do that if you want, no railroad here. She can still give you a narrative connection to the stuff you just sort of got for no reason at level 2... as well as teaching you more about what it is to be a druid. Just let me know, I think the only things you'd be delaying at 3rd level for druid would be access to 2nd level spells, since your wild shape doesn't improve until 4th.

Sure, it'll probably be a bit of bouncing around, but Tess accidentally is the farthest along narratively to level 3, so should be pretty easy to 'unlock' her Arcane Trickster stuff.

I wasn't sure, but that seemed to be the way you were headed with Ulmwin.

I'll also delay feat progression by a level, but...with how often we fight I think it will be worth it. Edit: and maybe she can show him other forms too.

Spot on with Randy. Hunter seems a better match than beast master.

Yeah, I kind of figured Nemeia was a little further on with her L3 story :) looking forward to seeing it move forward!

I have PMd everyone with relevant choices, if any, to be made at 3rd level for the class you taking, other than Rudolph, as I wanted to confirm his class choice before laying out the progression. I've also asked a few questions to many of you about your character's motivation or thoughts on gaining abilities conferred by leveling, but feel free to share any additional insight that would be useful for me to have in mind as I work on leveling you guys up.

For some of you, your leveling will comprise a portion of the downtime you have coming to you, but for the others among you, think about what sort of things you'd be looking forward to in returning to town a victor and hero.

Is there a Shrine or temple to Mielikki in the Vale? Or where would the closest one be?

There is not one within the boundary of the Vale, the closest temple that you know of is to the south west of the Vale, in the forested hills that are a transition between human and elven lands. You could ask the Abbey if they know of something closer.

There's been a few questions on including features or spells etc from non player handbook sources. I'm relatively comfortable with expanding to The Elemental Evil sourcebook since that is available through a legit PDF. My comfort level drops going to Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, as I don't have access to a valid copy of that. My comfort level drops even more going to Unearthed Arcana as I don't think I'm necessarily set to be able to incorporate that without things getting out of whack.

So if Maji gains forms by consumption, does this mean he'd be able to turn into a human?
