Randy gathers up his remaining hit points and backs away.

((Gonna roll for Coljin...))

Coljin: DEX save: 1D20+1 = [3]+1 = 4
Coljin: DEX save: 1D20+1 = [13]+1 = 14

Statue beam damage: fire, necrotic, radiant: 1D4 = [2] = 2 --->1
1D4 = [2] = 2 --->1
1D4 = [2] = 2 --->1

The gnome cleric manages to block off most of the beam with his shield as it hits him.

Tess moves her mage hand over and shifts the lever to the left of the altar gem... at the far end of the room, the stone slab blocking the exit begins to lift.

The statue fires on Maji! ((DEX save please!))

Holger:1;Coljin:2;Maji:3;Ulmwin:4;Tess:5: 1D5 = [3] = 3

Maji will get closer to the gem and when he gets to it he'll try to oull it out.

If Nem sees Maji heading towards the gem, she'll shout over:
"Give me 10 seconds, Maji!! Just wait! I can turn it off, I'm sure of it! And then you can remove it and we can sell it."

((Sure, you can have seen him. The left lever opened the exit, what do you want to do now?))

(I didn't even realise we were locked in. Bonus! :lol: )

She'll check for other levers on the altar, and then try them out in whatever order she finds them. Basically, try everything she comes across :)

You move your mage hand over to the other lever on the right side of the altar, and flip it.

The large stone bowl filled with dead bodies begins slowly rising from the floor...

Maji's probably getting shot, if he's all up on the statue... ((DEX?))

Nem ponders whether she should let the altar continue rising, then decides against it for now and flips the switch back again.

"Were there any other levers?!? How did the damn snake statues get turned on?"

The bowl of bodies begins receding into the ground.

Maji probably gets shot again. ((DEX save?))

((There is another lever by the right brazier.))

Maji tries to pull the gem out with his bear claws.

Maji runs up to pull out the gem with his bear claws and takes a shot from the gem...

Statue beam damage: fire, necrotic, radiant: 1D4 = [3] = 3
1D4 = [4] = 4
1D4 = [3] = 3

...and grabs hold of the gem with his dragonborn claws as his bear form drops and he reverts to plain old, scaly Maji.

((STR check if you want to try to yank it free.))

((The brazier levers just opened the doors though, didn't they?))

Sod it, Nem will try it anyway.

Tess lowers the stone slabs on the right side, hiding the alcoves there, as Maji gets shot point blank by the statue.

"Dammit"

Nemeia will head up to the altar and start searching for anything she's missed.

"Ulmwin, Coljin, help me look! There must be something else we're not seeing"

((She really wants that ruby not to disintegrate))

Investigation: 1D20+2 = [12]+2 = 14

Str, dex: 1D20+2 = [8]+2 = 10
1D20+1 = [16]+1 = 17

Now that Maji is back to normal, he'll go behind the statue and try to find another way to turn it off.

Maji strains to pull out the gem, but it doesn't budge, he lets go as it fires.

Statue beam damage: fire, necrotic, radiant: 1D4 = [3] = 3 --> 1
1D4 = [1] = 1 --> 0
1D4 = [4] = 4 --> 2

((I have Maji at 16/26 HP with the carry over from his bear form.))

((There isn't really a 'behind', but you could give me an Athletics or Acrobatics to climb on top like Holger was...))

Tess doesn't spot any other levers or anything up on the dais. There is the pillar topped by the large central gem, but other than that nothing really stands out.

Nemeia sighs and retreats.

"I was wrong! The levers don't turn off the snakes! They only open the doors and lift that central dias."

Maji steals (or attempts to) Holger's perch, and the sorcerer gives him a look before retreating (or fights him for it, presumably?).

((Coljin and Ulmwin staying in range or backing up?))

"The hell... Then how did they activate the gems in the first place?!"

"Wait... One of you guys said the gems were stuck, right? The same stuck as the levers were..?"

Coljin will stay in range and keep his defensive stance, taking the heat off of the others, possibly.
