Ah'sereen nods encouragingly and looks concerned.

Dain takes a dagger out and cautiously pokes the floor with it.

Art walks no further forward, he does not want to sink into the gooey floor and become watching eyeballs.

Warryn sits back from the eyeballs and the suspicious floor, stroking Erik absentmindedly.

"We should wait for the girls to finish with the boy. This place seems....decidedly unfriendly to me."

Dain snorts. "There's an understatement. It's like a random collection of different worlds slapped together into a big maze. We'll need to be careful in our exploring otherwise we might run into something that poisons the air..."

Dain moves to the edge of the goop and cautiously pokes a dagger into it. It sinks slowly into the viscous matter but nothing else surprising happens until an eyeball floats past and casts a glance at him. As it floats by, Dain is frozen, completely unable to move.

A few seconds later and the eyeball has floated away and Dain is able to pull away from the side of the pool.

In the other room, the boy relaxes when he realises that the chessmen and his previous attackers have apparently disappeared.

Dain sputters and backs up as far as he can get.
"Bloody eyeballs can paralyze you! Don't let them get a good look at you!"
He glares at the eyes floating in the muck.

The eyes drift by.

Aura smiles, gently reaching out an hand to try and pat the weird boy on his head. "There, everything alright..! You probably should be a bit more careful, right..? If those chess pieces were dangerous, I have little doubt there's other scary stuff in here, too."

"Are you going to be all right..?"

(Just realized that with Aura's life domain, the boy would have healed another 3 HP, for what it's worth. I don't think Aura can heal him all the way back up with how much damage got dealt to him, but still. )

(He looks a tiny bit better than he did without your extra healing )

"...Where did the bad men go?"

"They went through there." she says, indicating the door. "Probably best you don't go in there... Even though they won't harm you anymore- Not without those mean chess pieces around."

(TECHNICALLY not a lie. )

The boy perks up a little and picks up his toy sword again. He hugs it.

"In there? Heehee! What's a chesspeesees?"

"They're the little stone pieces you ate earlier, remember? The ones that were yelling at you and us because you ate a couple of them. And what's so funny about that room..?"

Aura pauses for a moment. Having some... Minor experience with kids. There used to be some tricks that usually worked...

"Alright! Now, you be good, okay?" she says, smiling before getting up again. "I'm just gonna go in there as well, then. You try and get safe..."

He hurries towards the right-hand door again.

She shakes her head, quickly trying to correct herself. "No no, don't worry, I'm not going to bring them back here..!" she says, considering trying to amend the situation... But realizes she'd probably only make things worse.

"I mean be safe in the sense there's probably other mean things around... You came from that way, so I"m sure you know a safe way, right? We're just going to try and find one in this direction..." she says, giving a brief nod towards Ah'Sereen.

He pauses again.
"Most things is scared of mum."

He thinks a bit.
"YOU should prob'ly be scared of mum too. And you shouldn't go that way. Wait for the mean men to go away and then go that way". He points at the right door.

"Ok, now you have to close your eyes and count to... to... as high as you can, and THEN you can come this way. But I have to go first, ok? No cheating! And you have to swear not to tell the bad men. Ok?"

Aura gives a bit of a wry grin. "Heh, don't worry kid... We're plenty scared of her, alright. Try and put in a good word for us if you see her, right? I'd prefer to be friends if we meet..."

"And alright- I promise I won't tell the bad men where you went." she said, nodding. "Now, I'll count up to a whole not one, but two hundred before I follow... So best get going! Don't suppose you can share how you get through the rooms, either?" she asks, figuring trying won't hurt at least.
