Re: Civilization V OOC : Breaking the Ponies
wouldn't you have to spend an SA to first create the cannon? perhaps this is what you did and i was confused, if so, my apologies.

Re: Civilization V OOC : Breaking the Ponies
you can use gunpowder without a cannon... it have many uses
So... anyone have any insight into my FH?
If you haven't read it, I'm trying to see if I can use the Etand Quarts to capture and control the mind of the Shardwolves...

True that. While the filters currently aren't the greatest they do work... somewhat... I'm surprised the rolls for water purification haven't passed yet. Oh well, I'll keep rolling until eventually they succeed.

Did I not mention the Doomwheel up in the description earlier? Of course, I'm going off of what I can google because I don't play warhammer. Warpstone gadgets are a potential... thing... but they may not do what you expect them to...

That, and what are the difference between the effect of FH and SA? so far I've only seen either of them give a +2 to the action roll...

Re: Civilization V OOC : Broke Back Pony
For what I gather, there's a pool of 80, which regenerates, and they add directly to the success of the roll but can't be used on FHs or to gain crits.

I think Aegis consider FH as game changing event. SA has less affects on what happens in the game.LooksAtYouFunny wrote:That, and what are the difference between the effect of FH and SA? so far I've only seen either of them give a +2 to the action roll...
The difficulty will always be high for FH.

Hm... that... while I can see what you say, only makes FH (Finest hour) into the rarely accessible more crappy choice of SA (Standard action)kida wrote:I think Aegis consider FH as game changing event. Because, you can attempt, well.. anything... so if SA and FH both give +2 to the action, and FH on top of that makes the task harder, for flavor only :S

Re: Civilization V OOC : Broke Back Pony
a sucessfull FH in the past have bin thinks like creating something similar to a atomic bomb, creating new magical equipment, and so on. SA have bin for things like improving the villages water or defence...

Re: Civilization V OOC : Broke Back Pony
FHs will always be rather high, 85-90 on the difficulty will be normal.
Action points are added to the pool on any successful action (1d5). More are added if there are more successes in a year than failures at year's end (15) or more failures than successes (3). They can be used to boost rolls, but won't crit if you go over 100 or stop a critfail if I roll 5 or less on the base roll. No limit to their use (so you could use 100 if available for a guaranteed success). First come first served, so if AP runs dry in the middle of actions...

Re: Civilization V OOC : Broke Back Pony
okay.. hmm....
okay, another question.
can we aid each other?
Say I use one FH to attack the rats, and 3 others decide to help me, adding 1 SA each... would that give us +8? or how would that work?

Re: Civilization V OOC : Broke Back Pony
Edited to add, since I was tired when I read that question, yes, if other people put SAs toward it I'll put a bonus. But one person can't use more than one SA/FH per action.

Re: Civilization V OOC : Broke Back Pony
I just wondered... Is it possible to gather a few races together within the clan to kill or fully enslave of a third? Like the troublesome ponys for example. And what would one have to do to achieve that?

Re: Civilization V OOC : Broke Back Pony
Maybe, if you feel like spending SAs/FHs on it. Drow are evil, so I won't rule out a survival of the fittest style situation cropping up. frankly I'm surprised the Goblins aren't enslaved and the Ponies flat out dead I do think the Centaurs might come to the aid of the Ponies, being mostly (heh) like them. *shrug* (and they don't have 7 members, I cut them in half instead of the Wemics I should have cut, due to the critical fail Step Sideways).Kelten wrote:I just wondered... I would say we should hype all up against the skaven, and AFTER the battle enslave at least the ponies (We can use them) and anyone helping them can get chains to

Re: Civilization V OOC : Broke Back Pony
yah, I was thinking that the "make a example of the ponys" was kill the bunch to make the other races learn. Just tossing one into a volcano was a bit like a slap on the wrist. I was thinking dismembered horses, blinded and missing body parts from the few survivors. I mean, the DROW where going to set an example!

I guess my view is in the minority. I mean, I have no illusions about them all being Good, but i see them more as having different standards for what is necessary and respectable(and even that varies from clan to clan), than just being super evil. The killing of one pony makes sense as a strategy some of them might use, but to brutally dismember all of them seems excessive to me. *Shrug*
