Ok I think I will be able to monitor this regularly now. I will retake my position by the button on the right (trying to stay out of the way of anyone needed to get by at the same time) and say "Tell me when to push this one."

Walks shoves the dead rat corpse through the bridge and dangles it over the edge of the acid pit. Bits of gore and blood drip from it into the pool below which smokes and fizzes with each drop.

"Are they..."
"They wouldn't..."
"They are..."
"Hey troll! Truce until the crazy goblins have left?"
"Fuck yeah."

The gnomes immediately scarper into their lair and Rork moves as far away from the edge of the bridge as he can manage. The skeletons glare.

For a few loooooong minutes there is nothing but silence, then with a clatter of scuttling limbs, Mines sees the spider dart out from under the bridge.

Odd pushes the button and the trap is sprung!

The spider is knocked off the wall and into the acid! It manages to keep just enough grip to prevent it from being forced completely under the acid, but it gets a good dunking and looks like it's been seriously damaged!

Now, William, FINISH HIM!!! (that is, shoot the thing). I'll wait here, since we can't turn the bridge on while you're trying to shoot through it. Oh yes, and high five my button-pushing friend, now that he's no longer giving me the finger.

Otherwise: We could turn the bridge on, climb down, and try to stab it with the spear. Or hope the acid finishes it off. Or that the stingers will do the job. (Of course, if the stingers manage to get above the acid pit, we'll have to deal with them before we can cross. Hopefully, the rope will help discourage that. Not to mention the spider, the chests, and the unknown goings-on.)

Odd yells "DEATH FROM ABOVE!!" and leaps on to the spider. Pointy stick first.

This may kill me. But a skull mask wearing goblin flying through the air will kill that spider. Even if only by heart attack.

If I do die, my last words will be "Do epic shit"

HELL YEAH! That was at least 3 different kinds of awesome. And I absolutely LOVE the reaction of the gnomes and Rork. And man, that spider looks beat! Good for us. :lol: :freaky: :rofl: :Dance:



Walks stands up so the others can turn the bridge back on - if they want to - and holds the torch for William, in case he wants to ignite the arrows (following him down the ladder, if needed, e.g. in case the others DO turn the bridge back on). She also pockets the rat. If the spider comes close enough, she'll poke it with her pointy stick.

I don't think the spider will survive my aerial death attack. At least I hope not.

But if it did and you killed it with your poking, that would be hilarious.

Well I figure I will land on the spider and then can hop to the solid ground on the right. I'm also assuming the chests float in the acid making a kind of bridge across. And besides...it seemed like the epic thing to do. I mean the image of it alone (if TL draws it) will make it worth it.

William, please don't shoot. Odd Duck is attempting a swan dive, and I'd rather he not survive that only to be cut down by friendly fire.

Odd, I've got a lit torch and a large spear coated in the spider's own venom. It's risking a good item, but would you like to upgrade your weapon en passant?

Wears, you DO remember that Walks only BORROWED the spear from Rork? Therefore I would much prefer it not to be given to anyone jumping into (the general direction/vinvinity of) an acid vat, thank you very much.

Yeah, I remember that. Which is another reason I was hesitant to make the offer. (Should have mentioned.) But if Odd succeeds, we'll still have the spear. And I do want him, as a fellow party member, to have a good chance of success and survival.

What are tou talking about? I have my generic pointy stick of suicidal flying death from above +1. I'm sure I will be just fine.


You guys should be glad that AFTER this plan happened I thought about hiding in a chest and then popping out to stab the spider. That would have been awesome too! :lol:

William will see if he can get a good angle on the spider from his current position, if so he will fire as many arrows as possible into the body of the spider avoiding any 'friendly fire' incidents if possible.

If William can not get a good angle he will proceed to go down the ladder and attack from there....

Odd screams and throws himself pointy-end first off the bridge and onto the spider below! He stabs the spider a heavy blow and bounces off onto the chests. The acid splashes his legs and the spider retaliates with a nasty bite, but he's still alive. Somehow.

Walks holds the torch allowing William to shoot his arrows through the fire at the spider. The arrows catch fire and seem to do a little extra damage! Between the fire and the acid and the ridiculously stupid epic tactics, the spider is utterly overcome and dies, its corpse sliding into the bubbling acid below.

"Holy fuck!"
"Holy fuck!"

missed that the spider died the first time. now im trying to decided what to do about the stinger-fly.


Ok, with the spider corpse gone, I will back up to the center of the chest bridge and hope the stinger-flys dont come for me, but I will have my pointy stick ready to try and defend myself. "Uh...guys....a little help down here?"
