Dreamer should get another advancement XP for having rached base row.... (although I've been thrown out in second half of the turn again)...

Congrats, Blue!

Re MVP: astonishingly the Dice allowed me to dodge No Name...
When there were high bonuses in the field, the dice often threw high, thus thwarting the bonuses...
I don't like voting for dice though, so I'll reread the thread and see what comes....

You reached column 1 last turn and got the XP for it.

MVP votes so far:

Dice: 2 (M0rt, Burns)
Bomb Diggety: 1 (Chuck)

Sorry, my fault, I came in from the side, just saw it and wanted to edit, but you were faster..

MVP: I was undecided between Bomb Diggety and Righteous Charger, and having looked at the char sheets saw that Bomb Diggety came in without any feats, so you have to value his achievements high.
I'd have preferred a defender to become MVP, but yeah.
Bomb Diggety gets my vote.

Also, can I give an extra XP to the host for having gone through the extra efforts ?
(Implosion, Tongue,...)

Also incrdible that we were able to gain the lead, however shortly we held it...

I don't want to vote, the game sucked for me despite of winning. Almost nothing I tried succeeded, and the planned group actions failed to often for my taste. On top of that the xp-difference is kind of a mood killer. You cannot even remotely get as much xp as strategist just by cheering and fighting if there is nothing to cheer than a defender or attacker can get by fighting. :/
On the other hand: 5 xp is better than none, as it Krulle and me could have been left out as well. So: yay, 5 xp! :D
Maybe it will be better next game, at least in my first game I had much more luck.

Make my vote a -1 for the dice if I have to vote. A veto. :P

Dice: 1 (+1 M0rt, +1 Burns, -1 Nerre)
Bomb Diggety: 2 (Chuck, Krulle)

Yea....that is the problem with stats, they don't get as much exp as defenders. and attackers generally get more exp than defenders.

but yea...the exp gain is pretty bad. I think we should have a rule if a person gets lower than average exp gain they get the average exp gain. Or something.

I think strategists really pick up later. Once they get cheer range they can more easily buff battles. If you buff every battle your ally is in you gain the same xp as that ally. And you can buff multiple battles per turn. However, early on the short range makes it hard to use effectively. Game 1 I kept looking for opportunities for Pat to cheer one of us but they were near non-existant without range. This game the dice were just evil. Defenders unfortunately are more useful when they sit back not gaining advancement xp. That's one of the reasons its only granted once per flag run, so attackers don't get too far ahead. Its still skewed but its not as bad as it could be.

IMO, yes, defenders are better suited on their own half, and it can be argued that strategists might be as well (though I don't see why they couldn't play offensive for an attack) but I always say that the advancement exp are a rather big deal. You shouldn't screw over your team just for the sake of getting it, but in the end you're not alone in a game- If an attacker warps back, you could take that incentive to advance and get some advancement exp, maybe even get in a tussle and get some exp that way. After all, that +2 doesn't matter that much in the end if the dice are dicks anyways.

FWIW, defenders are more liable to get the bonus XP for sending an opponent back to the other side of the field. And they get a better bonus to tussles (+2, whether guarding or tackling, as opposed to attackers' +1 to dodging). Strategists, well, they can go wherever they want. They can get advancement XP if they go on a flag run and cheering XP if they support (on either side of the field). But, really, it all comes down to strategy and luck.

I don't think it works that way, but the thought is very much appreciated.

You don't have to vote. And people are welcome (encouraged, even!) to vote even if they didn't play. But you can't can't vote negatively.

Dice: 2 (M0rt, Burns)
Bomb Diggety: 2 (Chuck, Krulle)

How about a defender getting more xp if he sends somebody back to his half? Like 2 instead of 1. And a strategist getting not only his 1 xp for a successful cheering, but the xp the one he cheered on gets plus 1?
Might balance things out a bit, as we need a higher gain for def and strats to balance out the advancement and flag square points.

Dealing with a defending defender or attacking offender will get much worse for the other clases in the late game when all put some more points in those skills. It might end with "only an attacker can overcome a defender", meaning strategist might still be able to fight, but with chances that might be as bad as 1:5 or worse. It could easily shift from 1-10/11-20 to a 1-16/17-20 without somebody cheering.

Which brings me to this question: Is this like in D&D, so a 20 (or 1) is always a win, depending if you have the lower or upper numbers? Or can you reach a sure 1-20 win with enough bonuses?

Do we already have a GM for the next game? If not I would be willing to do a small 3 vs 3 game if somebody would send me the graphics.

id vote who ever the other teams main planner was but for now dice.

Dice: 3 (M0rt, Burns, pat)
Bomb Diggety: 2 (Chuck, Krulle

Most of the time it was Chuck, a few times I wrote something cause he had not written something yet. A timezone thing. :)
Last game people just voted for the player with the least xp, which would be Hides. Or the one with the least in the losing team, which would be you, Pats.

I like Burns idea.

Sorry, no. The thought is appreciated, but Mines was the GM this time.

Voting for the dice is more or less the same as voting for the GM...

Not really. The GM does the bookkeeping and the graphics and such. The dice are the luck factor. Voting for the referee is one thing. Voting to say that luck played a major role in the outcome of the game is different. Also, the GM had fun with the game, but he made a lot of mistakes.

(Anyway, Badge was having fun trolling, so I responded in kind. There are no mines in this game - except for rare missions where strategists can set traps - but my character is named Mines.)

Pat: If you're going to change your vote, please update the math.

Dice: 2 (M0rt, Burns)
Bomb Diggety: 2 (Chuck, Krulle)
Righteous: 2 (Knuckle, Pat)

Three way tie.

Fine...I'll vote for the Dice...

It was late last night and for some reason I thought this was Minesweeper instead of CTF... <-- Major brain flatulence.

Oh, I thought you were joking. But yeah, I know that feeling. You don't have to vote if you don't want to, but participation is appreciated.

I'd like to cast a vote for Pats, because he did a great job strategizing this game (while I was too busy to help with it).

Dice: 3 (M0rt, Burns, Badge)
Bomb Diggety: 3 (Chuck, Krulle, Bahamut)
Righteous: 2 (Knuckle, Pat)
Pats: 1 (Moose)

I also vote for Pats, for his efforts to coordinate a team strategy.

Bomb Diggety: 3 (Chuck, Krulle, Bahamut)
Righteous: 2 (Knuckle, Pat)
Pats: 2 (Moose, Davis)

Anyone else? We're starting to get organized for the next game, so we should wrap this up, get XP totals, let people level up, etc. But I'm busy Friday and Saturday. Kind of torn between closing voting today and letting it go until Sunday. I want everyone to have a chance, but I don't want to hold things up too much.
