Roll20 one or two session game.

OOC page for game talk :)

I talked about this briefly in the random thread.

For those who don't know, roll20.net is a free (opt to pay for extra) online platform for role-playing of any kind.
It features multiple options for character sheets and digital dice. As well as map tools and other nifty things.

Basically I'd try to set up a short game on roll20.
Both for you guys to try it out, and for me to come a bit back into the game.
I have multiple settings in mind. But the main thing here is to see if people are interested in one or two one to three hour sessions.

Depending on the dates, I'd be up for that. My time zone is Eastern Time (GMT-5) and I'd prefer not to start before 9am if at all possible :)

That sounds good... If we run in weekends I'm really flexible with times, week days we have to put a bit more thought into, but it is still durable...
How does that sound?

I'd like at least one more player, but we can decide on game first.

I have currently 3 games near ready on my roll20 account that I'm interested in playing.

1: is the standard dnd 5e starter game, lost mine of phandelver. It will take longer to complete, but game sessions of 2 hours or more should be good.

2: is a mystery/puzzle rpg set in the same world and style as the modern game I ran here (not the bunker one but the other on in a house)
Should be solvable in less than 4 hours total, decided over multiple sessions (a guess, never tried it out)

3: is a "heroes of might and Magic" style rpg. Each player takes the role as a captain over 3 units of 4-20 men (depending on type.)
The players the move across a map as a single army and will at times get into battle. In the battle each player controls their captain and 3 units. The captains are "heroes" and are by them selves roughly as strong as a unit. More on that if that is what you choose. (yes. There are a plot)

Is any of that interesting to you guys?

I'd prefer 1 or 2 personally. I've run the first session of phandelver so you may want to mix up the goblins part if I play but I don't remember too much about it because we were literally only running it to learn the rules (and I'd promise not to meta cheat). We abandoned the mines after 1 trial session for a homemade campaign so the rest of the adventure would be new to me.

Oh, that should be no problem. I can quickly change things out in that game (DnD)... lots of recourses for that :)
So if it ends up being DnD we will just run a more "open" session...

Well, that's 3 players.

So, saying that I guess we should settle on the game.
DnD 5e may be the best suggestion here, as it's useful for other sessions also.

So that leaves the time for the game.
My schedule will allow the following:
Weekdays: 2015 utc +1/ 1415 est/ 1115 pst and 2-4 hours forward.
Weekends more or less any time...

Weekends are much better for me in general, but I can't do this weekend and I might have to work next weekend... I'll know in a few days.

Weekends are generally better for me, but I work Sunday afternoons, so would have to do early if we do Sundays. Saturdays during the day would probably generally be better, but depending on the weekend may have evenings free. I'm in the US Eastern time zone.

Yeah, I'm also US Eastern, but won't be free in the evenings until 7pm which won't work for our European pair (would mean starting at midnight for them).

On Saturdays I don't mind midnight gaming, but if next weekend over fits best I'm fine with that.

Awesome.
That brings us up to 5 players, that others are making classes over in the ooc thread
Feel free to join up there, then I think we are close to the point where we will choose a playing time :)

Not, much, make an account.. I'll then send you all an invite to the game when we have a time and its set up.

Accepting will allow you to open a game window.. this will be like a virtual gaming board, build in character sheets (ill set them up for you) dice rollers, and chat.
If you feel like it you can use microphone, i probably will to speed GM'ing up, but for you guys 'n gals its optional.

The board then lets you move figures as in a real life game and lets the GM set up multiple boards and effects if he wants.
it also have quick counters for health, spells per day and all that stuff...

if you make a user, here is a test game set up that you can play around in a bit...
Hidden Content
This board requires you to be registered and logged-in to view hidden content.
*In the game is a human fighter you can move around, I've opened it up to all... While the game says im online im mostly not.... just opened the window for you guys...

Hmmm, apparently I already made an account at one point, but haven't done anything in it before, but I should be good to go. Whether I use a mic or not depends on when we play and what the wife is up to when we do.

Sounds good to me. Mic for me is the same as spider - depends when we play and what the OH is doing
