Name - Nicolai "Nick" Jaeger
Age -16
Gender -Male
Occupation - Military Academy student. Going into senior year.
Appearance - 5' 11" 185, lean and fit as a youthful but fast grown teenager can be. Has a very drawn and bony face. He has a short, high and tight military haircut of brown hair. He is wearing his new academy senior uniform that is a gray dress suit with white lining and bronze buttons, as well as black dress pants and a black undershirt, black dress belt and black track shoes. His ears are crumpled like cauliflower from fighting and he is carrying a black satchel containing school accomplishments and a couple boxing trophies.
Personality - He is a defensive kid, at that awkward stage of youth coming into manhood. He is fairly gruff and quick to judge a book by its cover. He is very prideful and foolhardy in tackling tasks that can be well outside his capabilities. He is very competitive around other men and looks down on any woman that he sees as weak and helpless. He holds self-sufficient and tough women in highest regard, and any man who he deems reliable (which is more work for someone than it may be worth). He has a never back down attitude, which can be great and horrible, especially when purposely being provoked.
Skills and Weaknesses -SkillsHe had a rough life growing up, and had to procure many things in less than honorable means. He is good at hiding and navigating through any environment. Has a strong sense of where he's been and what's ahead of him. He also has a knack for hacking/breaking into locked doors/vehicles/some computers. He has the vigor of youth and willingness to perform. Weaknesses Prideful and foolhardy. Just because he says he can do something doesn't mean he CAN. This makes his reliability questionable at his word. He is very defensive. He is more than happy to follow someone's lead provided that he thinks they know what they are doing and they treat him respectfully (as in not like a teenager, which is an issue). He is very easily goaded as well. If someone pushes the right buttons (which there are many), he can be easily distracted or tricked into doing something stupid and hazardous to himself and his group. Lastly he doesn't possess much in the way of skills outside of breaking into things. Mid to High level computer security systems are beyond him, and only a computer with a simple security system is in his field. He has no medical knowledge, can/will challenge orders, and doesn't know how to operate any kind of space vehicle.
History - Nicolai (Nick)'s father was a long time soldier. His father helped his mother cope with mental illness and they fell in love an had a family. When Nick was 8, his mother found out that his father had been cheating on her and was supporting a whole other family for years. All the hard work toward her recovery went to shreds. Depressed and distraught she went to confront her husband at his other family's home. Once there she became enraged, pulled his gun and killed him and the entire family (the woman, 2 kids and their dog).
Nick had to go through a lengthy trial process where he developed a hate for his father and became extremely distraught when the court sentenced his mother to death after 20 years incarceration. Nick got put into an overloaded and broken foster system. He ran away and would disappear from foster families for sometimes months at a time before being found. By 10 years of age, he was heading down a road with no future. His mother struck a deal with social service and the justice system to help her son. Once Sidus Diabola was running, she would transfer to their Death Row effective to be one of the first inmates through their system in exchange for her son being granted his late father's educational benefits, enrolled in a military academy prep school, and to have supervised visits from her son 4 times a year. She also had to volunteer to decrease her incarceration to 10 years, moving up her execution date to soon after Nick turns 18. It took a couple visits for her to convince Nick to commit and do his best.
Now Nick is one of the most respected students in his class, but he doesn't have any friends. He got in a lot of fights, with students and professors alike. He always met every obstacle with a passionate aggression that while enabling him to succeed, alienated him from everyone else. He doesn't have a high opinion and is full of contempt for most people. He took up boxing on requirement from the headmaster to target his aggression. His coach is the only man he has trusted like a friend. He idolizes his headmaster as a mentor because she is a very tough and self reliant woman. He has a hard time stomaching "weak" women, holding self sufficient women in the highest regard and he is extremely paranoid with his male relationships since his father's betrayal that destroyed his world.
