So I got the bottom strip of this page for donating to Tempts Fate. I am going to try to frame it within the next couple of weeks and have been trying to decide what color mat and frame to go with. I was hoping some of our terrific artists could give me some suggestions. I am going to use this site to order the components and then put it together myself. What I'm stuck on is what to use for the mat color and frame combination. I think I'm going to use a black wooden frame, but can't decide whether to go with black, white, grey, or some other off-white for the mat. I will be buying 4Ply AlphaRag for the mat.
So what do you guys think?

Re: Matting a Comic Panel
Well... seeing as its a comic strip, there are already natural frames within the image, in this case, a thin black line and thick white center frames. for that reason, I'd keep to either black or white.
Then comes the question of where it should be, will it be hanging on a white wall or have white background? in that case I'd chose a black frame.
Any other color background, and it does not matter much if its white or black.
My personal preferance if it was my strip:
Mat: 8644 Ebony
Frame: Black
Profile 855 (this is a nice thin frame, that will look good on this strip)
and be sure to use an UV filter glass, to avoid the print from loosing color over time.
Non-glare... meh... I've newer found it so important, but I can see why some does...
So.. that would be my suggestion.
