So... I'll start with a question:

I'm considering buying this Wacom:
Cintiq Companion

Does anyone in here have any experience with this model, or any of their other products?

A good friend and fellow illustrator just bought one and is very happy with it. If I could afford it, I'd certainly also consider one.

Thanks, a bit much maybe, but could you ask him how he finds the Pro pen (the one that comes with the companion) vs the art pen (if he has one)

Also, I noted that Manga Studio 5 EX comes with it for only a little extra (compared to buying it at the side) I've newer tried manga studio, or any of their products for the matter.... any experience in that?

Again, thanks for your time...

I have the pro pen myself, as it also comes with the intuos 5. It is the shit.

Never. I quit. Nah, I just got a non-disclosure doohickey on most of the stuff I'm working on just now. As for Manga studio, I've tried it briefly, but it never caught on with me. I do understand that it has some really excellent tools for comic-drawing though.

I was also going to ask about Manga Studio!

Do you exclusively use the Intuos, Jotunheim? I have a basic Bamboo as I wanted to transition from pen and paper to digital and figured I had better try it out with a budget model tablet before I splashed out, in case I couldn't get on with it at all. But now I am planning an upgrade :)

Funny you should ask. I've had three tablets throughout my life. The first was a basic small wacom model from the olden days. It was alright though nothing spectacular. The second was a Bamboo which did well for a long time (I think about five years) before I finally traded it in for the Intuos 5. Now, they all were good, but the Intuos is head and shoulders above the two in pretty much all regards. It's more expensive, but it's well worth the money, if only for the additional options for buttons it comes with, as well as the propen, which is just a lovely tool. I thoroughly recommend the INtuos 5, though the bamboo is not a bad tool to start out on if an intuos is a bit pricy.
