Re: 2021 December 1 - Loop-de-Loop
A b&w image of panel 1 (spoilered for size)
Oh yeah.
Otherwise, always walk backwards to the room side with just one door.
Shouldn't that work (unless each room has two doors on each of the sides with doors)?

It took them ONE HOUR to figure this out? And aside of all these wisdom modifier positive people Complains was the one to do it?
At this point its probably just an excuse to justify another group inside of this maze progressing further than the goblin group...

Pretty lucky it looped back to the same identical corridor...
Could have been one of them that doesn't loop back.

Re: 2021 December 1 - Loop-de-Loop
I hope they now perform some experiments.
Let's say, Ears watching the red door, Vorpal - the blue one and Thac0 - the orange. Now, Complains walks through blue door again.
They (so we do) already know that if he chooses orange in the next room, he will enter exactly this room.
But.
What if he chose the violet? If there are only two rooms, he will certainly meet the others. But this room entrance is orange, you see. From both sides. So, this door can change its color? Will Thac0 see it? Or the door can have different colors?
Oh! Even better! Complains could step back just now, close this door and try to enter the second. What will GAP see now?

They will have to do something that a party would normally not do. By the way, shouldn't they have some chalk, to make marks on walls, etc?
Perhaps go through all 4 doors at once.

If you look closely at the stones you can see around the red door, they look alike both days, the stones immediately next to the doors are also alike.
Wouldn't it need to be three rooms, else they'd see the back of their heads when they open a door?
Four if you include the wall with the yellow door.

Re: 2021 December 1 - Loop-de-Loop
No? Because they go from the first room to the second one, then back to the first room. If they opened the "next" door before closing the previous one they would, but I don't think they did that.
This is them in the first room:
[°°°°][ ]
Then going into the second room:
[°°¦¦°°]
[ ] [°°°°]
Then looping back into the first:
¦°°] [°°¦
[°°°°] [ ]

Re: 2021 December 1 - Loop-de-Loop
The rooms are long enough that if they bunch together, the doors would close. But if you spread out, I still think that if all three sets of doors are open at once - logic fails me. Two sets? If they were not looped, it would be three sets of doors. But if a door on both ends of both rooms was open, the sight might be interesting.
The yellow door seems to have gone away.

Re: 2021 December 1 - Loop-de-Loop
What if the door colours are linked with the colour of something elsewhere in the dungeon, like the entrance light having been linked to the last speaker, and "Dooorrrr" Golem being linked to that person? (link, especially panel 2)
And now they need to wait for someone colourcoding it correctly so they can open a door which changed to the correct colour of the IME of one of them?
[edit]URL corrected, thank You, rwStyles[/edit]

Re: 2021 December 1 - Loop-de-Loop
Answer could be anything at this point. Space is looping, time is looping and realms are jumping in this dungeon. They'll have to brute force it.
You won't sleep when you're dead either.

Or they were so busy arguing with each other it kept them from noticing the minor details that would clue them in, like the stonework.Writes-critically wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 3:56 am It took them ONE HOUR to figure this out? Re: 2021 December 1 - Loop-de-Loop
Honestly, when walking a pathway with masonry walls, I would not be able to recognise a recurring pattern being 100% identical.
An hour is not much, but the question is, if ANY door leads back.
There are 4 doors, one of them _should_ lead back out, but which one, and in which direction?
Or is there a magical entrance, but no way out?

I suspect it's the colour equivalent of a keypad, entering the right sequence of doors in the correct order.

Re: 2021 December 1 - Loop-de-Loop
All of Elli's puzzles have an obvious clue. It virtually always consists of noticing one little detail that is different.
All of the door handles are on the side of the door closest to the center of the room, except for the purple handle which is closer to the outside. Pull the purple handle and it will pop loose from the left side of the door. Stick it on the right side of the door. Now walk through the door and it will lead out of the endless corridors.
And no they wouldn't have already tried pulling it. All the doors open away from them so they would have pushed it.
