Re: Running the Monster Gauntlet: Escape (5e)
Fred takes an opportunity attack on the larger rat...
Pesudopod Attack: 1D20+5 = [11]+5 = 16
damage: 1D4+3 = [4]+3 = 7
psycic damage: 1D4 = [1] = 1
Then prepares for a fight with the other rats...
Initiative: 1D20+3 = [12]+3 = 15

Blob Bob peeks under a door further down the hall from the others. (Can blindsight see through doors?)

Attack of opp [1d20+5] = 3+5 = 8 dmg[1d4+3] = 1+3 = 4 pshycic [1d4] = 4
Miasma attempts to attack one of the rats scurring by, preferably the larger one.
Init [1d20+3] = 16+3 = 19

Re: Running the Monster Gauntlet: Escape (5e)
Fred bats one of the big rats into a wall, where it dies with a shriek before crumpling the the stone floor of the hallway. The bit of rat blood on his extension is fairly tasty.
Miasma swings at another of the big rats, but misses.
Farther down the hallway, Blob Bob ignores the rats and schlorps under a door for a peek. There are cages of various sizes on the floor, but most much larger than what you and your siblings resided in. Each could probably have held their own Underling, but they all seem to be empty now, the doors swung open. Something that is build vaguely like Underslem screeches and hops onto one of the cages, then swings off a shelf out of range of your senses.
((Can't 'see' through doors, but you can squeeze through narrow openings.))

Re: Running the Monster Gauntlet: Escape (5e)
This room seems to be a stable of sorts, filled a half dozen or so familiar scented hairy, hooved creatures.
Master has provided their flesh as meals in the past, it's quite good, kind of game-y in a savory way.
They seem a bit panicky, which is understandable given the shaking and weirdness that has been going on in Master's absence, and they are huddled in the far side of the room.
"Heee-awwww!"
"Haaaa-eeee!"
A pair of them throw back their heads and make strange noises.

Re: Running the Monster Gauntlet: Escape (5e)
Sluj (Who did follow out of the room and would absolutely have been hustling to get food-rat when it was brought up), lashes out at a passing rat.
Pseudopod: 1D20+5 = [20]+5 = 25
2D4+3 = [3, 4]+3 = 10
Pseudopod Crit: 2D4 = [4, 3] = 7
Total: 10 bludgeoning damage, 7 psychich damage.
The gooey glutton really wanted to eat more rats. Or anything. It just wants to eat.
We eat rats, then we eat bigger not-rats-not-Master? Food food food.

Re: Running the Monster Gauntlet: Escape (5e)
((I think that leaves one small rat?))
Underslem tries to use the pointy metal piece on a small rat.
Dagger AoO: 1D20+2 = [6]+2 = 8
1D4 = [3] = 3
Underling appendage is too not bendy!
<Rats then not master!>

Blob Bob sneaks in under the door fully and tries to silently move (stealth?) I'm the direction of the sounds. (How many)

Re: Running the Monster Gauntlet: Escape (5e)
((Roll stealth and initiative then, there are "a half dozen or so", but they are huddled together.))
Sluj gets them a tasty rat, pulping it against the floor, while Underslem amusingly swings his new long arms, at one but misses.
The last of the initial rats scampers to freedom.
A trio of the big rats, more wary than their kin, stop short of Underslem, and mill about, their noses twitching as they sniff the air before scampering back into the room.
((Miasma is up!))

Initiative: 1D20+3 = [20]+3 = 23
Stealth: 1D20+3 = [12]+3 = 15
*Assuming that works well...
Blob Bob slips quietly across the room towards one of the braying beasts that is furthest from the others. And strikes!

Gomz is more interested in the not-masters and sees if he has enough room to slip under the door without actually doing so.

Fred attacks any rats that maybe nearby but barring that moves towards the tall creatures and attacks any of those that might enter into attack range...

Fred joins Miasma in making short work of the big rats, this is easy and fun!

Re: Running the Monster Gauntlet: Escape (5e)
Gris slides in and does for the last of the rats. Underslem peers about with his jelly orbs and doesn't see any more rats among the crushed and mangled cages, so heads down the hall to join Gomz, unlocking the door.
Blob Bob slinks along the wall towards the mules, taking care not to rustle the straw and droppings in the stable too much.
((Giant Rats are dead, so Miasma!))
