Haley tries to keep the ball from him, not wanting him to ‘hide’ it again. ”Sorry I cannot risk you hiding it in an easy to find spot. We will get her free.”

”There are other ways to try to free her. Power itself might not work but there are other techniques that can be used. Have you tried to command her to be free? Maybe that would work. Or maybe if a pokemon holds it and you recall it while it holds it. Or there is a hidden part on the ball that releases her.

I do not think that I am stronger than Giritina, but there is power in numbers and we have a lot of powerful mons ourselves. If we work together we may free her.”

"H-Hey, I surrender..! I didn't mean to get involved in any of this..!"

"Yeah? You looked pretty involved to me, with all those ghosts that popped out. C'mon, I'm taking you back to the others," Koa orders, having Makeno help escort the prisoner back to the statue room.

When he comes back he sees Haley playing keep-away with a pissed off demigod.

"What the heck are ya doing?! Just give it back, we can figure out what to do about that in a bit! We got more pressing matters on our hands, yeah? Like figuring out what these guys're trying to do," Koa reminds Haley, hefting the grunt by the arm, directing him towards the middle of the room.

"What's your deal anyway? What were ya trying to steal that ball for? You don't seem like you're with those Red Hand guys, so who're ya with? The Sons? Grim? Who?"

Koa keeps a sharp eye on this guy while questioning him, for several reasons, not least of which is that Koa suspects he isn't exactly human. He doesn't say as much, though, it's only a suspicion.

((Even though he's probably regigigas, we have no reason to think any such thing IC.))

"I'm with Koa on this one. Magnus has this entire academy behind him, if there were any mundane means of freeing her it would have been done already, especially if the Spark's been involved before. So the only options I would think of is something humans aren't meant to know about - and the last time I checked the ways those can be accessed are very limited - or by heading off and killing Giratina. Which, you know, is big talk for a guy whose entire plan to deal with a god who was a jerk was to bleed on it and kick its nose if it decided to attack me. Then again, we beat the fork out of that demon Hoopa once before, and when it got injured there were bigger blasts of energy than Uyum here, so maybe beating Giratina senseless would result in chipping his nails before we all get horribly murdered." Leaning backward, the young man arches his eyebrows, "So maybe we go beat down the Godslayers, take their tricks, and use that."

Sighing as he shakes his head - it's a pointless topic anyway - Alex looks back to Magnus, "There's one thing Haley said that I'll agree on, though. Ball got taken from that statue once, and now it's shattered. If you think that's a good place to hide it you're an idiot, and I'm not even going to be delicate about that."

Sighing, Alex drops a gentle hand on Haley's head, "You want to help her, and that's a good thing. We all understand that. But there's nothing we can do about it. If he's bringing up Giratina, some great devil that opposes everything, and the Spark can't help, then it's not normal technology. I'm not saying you're wrong about it not being safe here, though. Someone found out and got it, but there's nowhere that we could hide it either." ~We don't want to hide everything in the fairy temple. It's been broken into once before as well, after all.~

Bruce mutters to himself as Haley seems to make a fool of herself believing she could do the impossible just because she wants to. He walks towards Tops, and then Shadow, checking each pokemon over to make sure their wounds aren't too great before sneakily giving each of them a congratulatory hug. In response, Tops flips over and spins on his head in pleasure, while Shadow's ghostly tongue seems to solidify just in time to give a solid lick to Bruce's face. He wipes it off as quickly as he could, but observers could tell that his hair was still a little messed up.

We could talk to the Junkrats, too. Yeah, we're mostly a bunch of gearheads and hoarders, but we have some know-how. I'm sure a couple of us even have a snagging machine or something like it. Not that... we would ever use that sort of thing, of course. I'm sure they would only have it for... collecting... purposes, of course. But, it might help break her bond to that pokeball, if we could power it up.

Koa glances towards Alex and furrows his brow to start mind-speaking, but then Bruce cuts in talking about 'snagging machines'.

"You... think they might have something like that?" Koa asks, shifting a bit uncomfortably, rubbing the back of his neck. "I mean they're really, really illegal, yeah? And they seem pretty high-tech besides, so I don't think they could just make one, could they?"

Well, I dont have one myself, but I wouldn't be surprised if I know somebody who has one, or could get one.

If you haven't noticed, what's legal doesn't really hold as much sway here as it does other places. And since you're not planning on using it to be a complete asshole and steal somebody else's pokemon, I dont really mind putting the word out for you guys. Of course, whoever we get it from will be wanting proper compensation for the risk.

Drake, Bjorn, Bruce, Koa, Haley, Alex

As Haley at first continues to refuse to hand over the ball, the headmaster seems to grow angrier, to the point that it almost looks like he's about to do something rash. But as he seems to recognize Haley's true intent, for a moment his gaze seems to soften, as he just looks... Tired.

"You... Naive child..." he says at first, seemingly unable to have the anger not come back as slowly he begins losing his temper once more.

"Do you truly think... That we would not have thought of such basic things?! Are you really under the presumption that you know better than the ones who have been dealing with the issue for centuries?!"

"Yes! We tried all those things! Here's another couple suggestions for you. Freeze it to zero kelvin and try to smash it! Throw it in a volcano! Use a legendary artifact to try and break it! Detonate a nuke on top of it! You got more clever ideas?!"

"Magnus..."

As the others begin chiming in, persuading Haley, she slowly becomes convinced to hand over the ball... Luckily before Magnus get pushed far enough he WOULD do something rash- He still doesn't seem quite calm as he takes the ball, seeming to head back toward the middle of the room with purpose, his eyes apparently on the commander that initially took the ball, a rather worrying gloom in his eyes... He seems to glare at Alex for a moment when he is called "dumb" for thinking it's a good place to hide things, but does not remark on it.

At the same time, Koa was carrying over the one grunt, who for now complies and... Well, he LOOKS pretty human, at least. Feels solid, too.

"Yeah? You looked pretty involved to me, with all those ghosts that popped out. C'mon, I'm taking you back to the others."

"What's your deal anyway? What were ya trying to steal that ball for? You don't seem like you're with those Red Hand guys, so who're ya with? The Sons? Grim? Who?"

"W-Well yeah, I wasn't in control! They were pulling me along! To... To be honest, I was told to not resist, by Matthias. I am part of the sons, yes..."

Magnus doesn't respond to statements about the snag machine, apparently fixated on something- Uyum does however, the psychic mew disappearing as her human disguise was taken up once more.

"Yes... We have tried a snag machine before, too."

Koa gives a small sigh, his snag machine idea having already been tried. There must be some serious magic on this weird pokeball, the way the Headmaster's going on about it.

Back to the matter at hand, this Son of Aether.

"Alright, well... you don't have any way to teleport more guys in, do ya, like Garnet did?" Koa eyes the cultist suspiciously, wondering if he's hiding something like that in his robes.

"And ya didn't answer my other question - what're ya trying to kidnap Mew for? And why are the Red Hand going after the power stations? In fact, why don't ya tell us everything you know? You're not a fan of those Red Hand guys, yeah? Well neither are we."

To help with the interrogation (and recalling Polmaka and Lonaki to keep it from getting too crowded in here), Koa releases Kinhe. The floating, crystalline jellyfish briefly surveys her surroundings before sidling close to Koa, peeking out from behind him.

"It's okay. You can trust us," he placates the Overseer worshipper. He can't help but glance in the Nurse and Headmaster's direction, though, unsure of their relation to the Overseer and it's ilk.

Bruce walks up to Magnus, trying to get a good look at the pokeball. The science that ties a pokemon to a ball is complex, but it's not unbreakable, though the ball might be. While a regular snagging machine might not work, it doesn't mean it's a complete dead end. Can I see the ball for a moment? I promise not to break it... Bruce says that last sentence with a smile, trying his best to be friendly.

If he does get the ball, he whips out some tools and starts poking at it, trying his best to learn anything he can. Too bad we can't get the unknown to focus on psychic energy yet. A strong enough focus might sever the connection... or kill her. Bruce mumbles as he works.

Hey Drake, get over here! I know you're into that magic mumbo jumbo. Maybe a combined approach could help.

Alex shrugs when Magnus asks about other ideas, despite it being sarcastic, "some, but the couple that we'd survive, I'd not talk about in front of an outsider. After all, spending centuries on it just means you're too focused, not that it's impossible."

So, ideas for later:
Make use of all the Cores, since I doubt Magnus would have tried more than one.
Beat up Giratina, eat him (Metaphorically), use the stolen power to undo what he did to the ball.
Find a way to use The Overseer's power to literally destroy worlds and focus it on the ball.
Find a way to nudge the Unown into forming a new "god" that focuses on something like release or freedom. (That one would take a few centuries more, I imagine)
Use the magic klefki that can unlock literally anything.
Use the Godslayer's powers on the ball - it can overcome gods, so it should overcome Giratina's power.
And something Alex wouldn't be aware of; Destroy the tree that the ball originated from.

Ochrana doesn't really understand what's going on, but seeing the cellphone like object he tries to lock it like the previous one.

Ochrana lock check [5d6+2] = 12+2 = 14
"Thank you, hopefully it helps." Ochrana happily jingles it's keys as he goes back to resting on the backpack for another nap.

Izzy has nothing that will help here.

So, she focuses on coordinating the Junkrats - getting them to move the unconscious Grunt's and their Pokemon out of the potential blast radius. With a little help from Maku, who's ordered to grab as many as he can. Meanwhile Kay escorts the Grunt Leader, ready to carry him into the air if he tries anything shifty.

As they leave, Izzy looks back and gives the Queen a strained smile.

"...good luck."

Izzy, Irene

Before anything else, Irene orders Ochrana to lock the phone- With no apparent response, but given the situation, that's probably exactly what one would be hoping for. She apologizes weakly she can't help more, before casting a protective barrier on the queen. She just grins, giving a big thumbs up.

"Hey, I'll be fine, I've been through worse! Just get out of here, yeah?" she states, appreciating izzy taking responsibility of making sure everyone else was being taken outside. She too gets a final thumbs up as she offers her best wishes, and heads outside.

Outside, the wait is anxious, precious seconds ticking by - Only half a minute left by the time they hurriedly evacuated. Right before they were suddenly met with... A most peculiar sights.

Suddenly the queen appeared on the roof, having apparently torn off the explosive from the wall, now holding it in her hand. Before she suddenly seems to leap upward - Dozens of meters in the air, easy, seeming to float there for a moment as she throws the bomb even further in the air, before pointing a finger at the flying package. A bolt of lightning surges forward, striking the package with a flash, as it ignites and explodes..! But, high enough above ground the only one who might be feeling any of it before it fades away is the queen herself, as she rapidly plummets back to the ground. On the roof, briefly, sight from her is lost. But before long she exits the building once more, wearing as shiteating grin.

"Oh yeah! Guess who's the best bomb defusal expert, huh? Took care of it son!" she exclaims, but her grin seems to falter slightly as she pays attention to all the Junkrats stunned expressions, judging by which this... Is not a normal thing. The queen seeming confused at first, then slowly getting worried.

"You... Didn't see anything just now, did you..?" she asked, her gaze seeming to ever so subtly redirect towards the south.

"...Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-"

Drake, Bjorn, Bruce, Koa, Haley, Alex

As Magnus continues walking over to the middle of the room, Koa is dealing with the one member of the sons of Aether.

"Alright, well... you don't have any way to teleport more guys in, do ya, like Garnet did?"

"Oh, no. Only the staff can do that. We... Kind of only had the one." he says, almost looking as if he was going to ask if they could have it back. He seems smart enough to realize they have very little leverage, however.

"And ya didn't answer my other question - what're ya trying to kidnap Mew for? And why are the Red Hand going after the power stations? In fact, why don't ya tell us everything you know? You're not a fan of those Red Hand guys, yeah? Well neither are we."

"Well, it's because I didn't even have an idea this... Mew, would be here! Honest! I have overheard that the bombs were just supposed to be a distraction for this, however." the young man admits, scratching the back of his head. As Koa is reaching for one of his pokeballs, the headmaster hunches over the commander, hand lowering- It takes a stern look from the nurse to seemingly snap him out of things, as he slowly gets back up.

”....Wait does that mean they are going to do that again!? We need to keep the ball safe if we can’t destroy it! Hide it where none can think to hide it.... If not we need a mon with sticky hold, some anti ghost tags.

Do you know how far the range is on the ball? Maybe if we get it far enough from her.... ”

"Hmph. There has been an... Unfortunate incident before, where someone got their hands on the ball. She was commanded across several continents at the time." he states, apparently not deigning the first part of her questions worthy of a response, before his gaze almost coldly seems to turn to Bruce.

The science that ties a pokemon to a ball is complex, but it's not unbreakable, though the ball might be. While a regular snagging machine might not work, it doesn't mean it's a complete dead end. Can I see the ball for a moment? I promise not to break it...

"No. You may not."

"some, but the couple that we'd survive, I'd not talk about in front of an outsider. After all, spending centuries on it just means you're too focused, not that it's impossible."

The man grunts for a moment, eyes glaring in Alex's direction for a moment, before they at least soften somewhat.

"...Maybe. But the first moment I hear a suggestion we've not actually tried ourselves yet, I'll have you know I'd try it in an instant. Perhaps if you stopped presuming to know better than us who have been dealing with it for so long!"

"Magnus. Please."

A deep exhale seems to escape from the man, as he nods slightly. Still, however, he does not pass the ball, instead seeming to address the group as a whole.

"I'm sorry if I'm... Tense. We are very grateful for your aid. And we are in your debt. We will be looking to recompense you in some way for what you've done here."

"But with that being said. In just a couple moments now, I'm afraid you'll be forgetting all you've seen."

To this Mew - Or "Uyum", gives a pained frown to this, shaking her head.

"No... They're not."

Koa meanwhile released Kinhe, the young man's eyes going wide at seeing the ultra beast released: "Woah..! A real one..!" he let's out with a gasp, even the nurse and head master seeming to give some attention to the pokemon for a bit. Overall however, it appears they have more important matters to deal with, the one grunt seeming to remember something after all.

"Okay, okay, let me think, I... Might have had an idea of what the ghosts were trying to do? When I was being possessed..? I think their plan was to snatch that ball away, then have, erm... Mew? Teleport them all back to our home?"

"Makes sense. Seems Grim wanted to control her." Magnus states plainly, before turning to the nurse in question. "Uyum. We are not making exceptions."

"I don't want to make exceptions, Magnus. It's not me."

"It's Grim. He's disrupting the tower."

"...Why?"

"Isn't it obvious..? Maybe he wanted to control me, maybe he did not. But no matter what... It appears he wants to see us."

Alex shrugs at Magnus telling them not to presume they now better than him, "I don't. I know jack all, in fact. But even though you definitely know more, you don't know everything, and there are times when people who don't know much have the unexpected ideas."

The mention of them forgetting brings a frown to the young man's face, muttering "He wants some of the few people who might be able to help him to forget about the entire thing, yeah, that's real smart. Just make people who've shut down however many catastrophes in as many days forget that you need help, sure." Putting down his irritation, he turns to the grunt, eyes narrowing, examining his aura, "You. You said 'our' home."

Haley snaps a picture of Mew as Magus talks about how they will forget what happened. ”Hmmm. If several continents don’t work, then how about in deep space? Or other universes? Have you tried flinging it to the sun? If I knew more about it I can help out better.” Seeing Koa released the ultra beast, Haley releases Rhem. ”Rhem, what do you know about that.” She points to the masterball.

”Are all the grunts possessed or something?” Haley asks after the ‘us’ comment.

Only one staff? But the hotel was staked out, right, and no one saw any Red Hand come out? So either Grim's been planning this for a while, or there was some other way out of the hotel.

And something about being possessed? Is that why a bunch of ghosts popped out of him? Koa supposes that makes sense, but Koa gives the cultist a wary look, unsure if he's himself now or not....

"Isn't it obvious..? Maybe he wanted to control me, maybe he did not. But no matter what... It appears he wants to see us."

"If that's all he wanted, he could've just asked, yeah?" Koa says with a frown. "Well if this is his way of asking, it's probably best you don't answer. In fact we gotta provide you guys security after that stunt! At the same time, though, we gotta do something about Grim. It's kind-of our job as League trainers, since he's made himself such a public threat and all."

"Hrm... I already called about backup, but no dice. Everyone's handling the other attacks. So we might just have to escort you guys for a while, until this whole thing's resolved or until we can get you better protection. Unless you've got some place that's safe from ghost attacks?"
