Loki signs the book where it was indicated to him, then nudges it over to Malis, so she can sign as well.
To the guard he answers "I suppose it would be good to find out if Mister Carver has some things more... coherent to say today." with a slight smirk on his face, but most of his features express curiosity over snarkiness.

Olly, Korga, Julius
Julius plays with the orb a little longer, and finds that using two hands alters the view's height and angle, making it possible, although finicky, to get a clearer view of what he had spotted before - A felid lounging in a tree's branches. As the beast comes into focus, there's a crackling sound accompanied by a faint line of light across the orb, and a felid drops to the ground in the middle of the cave, seeming disoriented by its sudden appearance.

Loki
Malis signs the book after Loki, and the older guard nods, "Right then, this way please." Returning to the door at the back, he pushes it open for the pair to follow and leads the way through a short hall with two side doors near the entrance. At the end of the hall he moves through another door into a small room with a single table, a bench on the near and far sides, and a door opposite the one they came through.
"Take a seat. I'll bring him along in a moment." Heading out the opposite door, the two are left alone for a minute before the guard returns, escorting the drunken man from the night before, mister Carver. The man takes the seat across from Loki and Malis, talking as he does, "You... The young man here looks familiar. Do I know you?"

Julius jumps as the creature suddenly lands in the cave. "Whomever built this was insane, teleporting creatures to his domain." He looks at Olly and Korga "So what do you suggest we do about our new ...guest?"

"What did you DO?!"

Olly yells at Julius, mostly out of surprise and drops immediately into a fighting stance as he faces the monster.

"Hrm, I think 'knowing me' is a little exaggerated. I was bouncing in Jon's tavern the other night and you were trying to punch me, after I told you you weren't welcome to pummel an unconscious man." Loki says with a friendly smile, extending a hand to greet him, clearly signalling that he has no hard feelings about that. "I'm called Loki." he says and gesturing to Malis, continues: "And this lovely lady here is Malis, but perhaps you know her already from the arena..."

Olly, Korga, Julius
Everyone is, understandably, alarmed and confused by the sudden appearance of a beast in their midst, preparing for a fight. Recovering from its disorientation, the felid seems to decide that the trio is responsible for its confusion, lashing out at Julius as everyone engages. With it getting up close, the felid seems... Worryingly large.

Loki smiles sheepishly. "Oh, well, technically she's not here because she represents the arena. She's here because she's my girlfriend and we like to do stuff together." He composes himself a bit again and continues. "And I'm here because the other night you kept going on about how 'he ruined everything', at least as far as I could understand you. And since that piqued my curiosity, if you don't mind, I would very much like to know what that was all about." He doesn't mention anything about the alleged thefts yet, because he wants to hear it from Mr Carver himself. He does tap into the other man's mind to try and pick up anything he might feel/think about but not say out loud with his talent.

Olly, Korga, Julius
Julius focuses on drawing out the venom, and though it does burn as he does so, the pain stops shortly afterward.
(Duration is reduced by one turn, then it triggers and wears off.)

Loki
Malis smiles faintly when Loki refers to her as his girlfriend, seeming quite pleased by the title, while Carver sighs, "Well, that's a problem out of the way. As for your question, well, considering you're being so jovial about my causing you problems, satisfying some curiosity is the least I can do... You see, I'm a jeweler, or more specifically I repair jewelry, working in my own home. Of course, I wouldn't be able to get by if I only took one job at a time, so I tend to have quite an assortment stored away. About a week ago, the plumbing in my house broke, so I arranged for that bastard Jules to handle the repairs or replacement as need be."
Carver's expression turns dark at the mention of the other man's name, "I left him to his work for one day, and when I came back, every piece I had been working on was gone. I filed a report about it, contacted all of my clients to tell them what had happened, tried everything to salvage the situation. But in the end, nothing came of that. I was forced to pay off the property loss, and even with that everyone thought I had sold off everything for a quick profit. It hardly would have been a profit with what I had to pay, took everything I'd saved up and cut into the funds I reserve for the materials I use in repairs. So, I'm sure you can guess what my clients thought of that. There's no way they would trust me at that point. My business is ruined, all my savings are gone, and that bastard got away with it scot-free...
Well, last night a friend took me out to cheer up some. Can't start moving forward if you're just wallowing in the past, right? I drank more than I should have, there's no doubting that, and I guess when I saw the damned plumber, I must have snapped."

Loki reaches for Malis' hand and gives it a fond squeeze when he notices her smile, but then lets go again and focuses on listening to the elaborations of Carver, rubbing his chin and nodding from time to time. He considers telling him that he - Carver - wasn't really causing him - Loki - problems, but decides against interrupting the man. When Carver is done, Loki can't help but want to know a little more still, perhaps he can get to the bottom of this, so he asks:
"What kind of breaking plumbing are we talking about, was it something that needs to be repaired urgently or was it more like a dripping faucet? And the plumbing broke a week ago, but when did the repairs take place? Also, was the man alone in your house? Where were the items of your clients, I mean surely you would have a place to stash them, when you are not working on them? What kind of items have disappeared? Do you have any enemies, who would love to see you in this situation, some other jeweller, perhaps? Or did Jules have any reason to dislike you, or want to harm you?", giving Carver plenty of time to answer one question before moving onto the next. Quietly he thinks about whether or not it is usual for plumbers being so readily available on short notice, how many people might be around qualified to deal with the plumbing damage, how easy it would be to find a buyer for the jewels, or if they are very recognizable (e.g. heirlooms or such) who might have the means of taking them apart for their precious materials.

Olly, Korga, Julius
While Olly and Julius voice their concern about the appearance of a beast, Korga moves to study it. Apart from the unusual size, the felid's claws are sharper and more curved than usual, and the stinger at the end of its tail appears longer and less bulbous. It's hard to recognise any other unusual qualities.

Loki
Carver frowns, answering Loki's questions steadily, "The faucet in my kitchen completely stopped running, so it was fairly important, since the only other water is my bathroom faucet. I started arranging for a plumber right away, and managed to get Jules set for two days after that. He was left alone, but he was registered, so there should have been no doubt about whether he was trustworthy. Everything was kept in a safe in a locked room, with the only key on me whenever I leave. There were a few items; a pair of matching rings, a necklace with a small ruby, and a ring with a heart embossed onto it. I don't know of anyone who would cause trouble for me, I'm hardly stealing all the business, and I don't remember meeting Jules before hiring him."
From Loki's knowledge, plumbers are relatively rare, but people with plumbing to the house are almost as rare themselves, with it being something only those of relative success can afford, the piping being enchanted, usually requiring a plumber to keep a stock of pre-made sections. As for fencing stolen goods, a jeweler or pawn shop may accept them unaware of the origins, while dismantling stolen goods would be more difficult. There may be one or two in the city, but only somebody well involved in thievery would be able to identify them.

Loki rubs his chin pensively and jots down some notes to help him remember everything.
"Well, that seems like something worthy looking into it some more, but at this moment, I don't have any more questions. Would you mind, if any arise, that I talk to you about this again? Or do you - at this moment - have anything you want to add, Mr Carver? Or you, Malis?" he asks, looking to the lovely lady at his side for a moment.

When/if the talking is done, Loki will bid Mr Carver farewell and ask the guard to kindly allow him to see Mr Jules.

Olly, Korga, Julius
Korga asks Julius about the potency of the felid's venom, and would (probably) receive an explanation that it was no more painful, but more difficult to purge from his body.
((I'm guessing you're all about ready to leave the place?))

Loki
Carver shakes his head slightly, "Ask me all the questions you like, when they come up. I don't mind so long as it helps fix all this."
Malis, on the other hand, purses her lips for a moment, "Pickpockets aren't the rarest of things, but theft from a secure location? That takes some planning or an opportunity of unbelievable proportions. Either our plumber was prepared to be hired or that room and safe were left unlocked and he couldn't resist checking. Then again, if plumbers are only employed by those of some wealth, what better occupation for a burglar? Their marks come to them, and they have plausible cause for being in the building." Shrugging, she rolls her shoulders in a slight stretch, "It warrants investigation, which I'm sure is being done already, but doesn't provide enough to make conclusions."

Mr Carver is led out of the room, and at Loki's request Mr Jules is brought in a couple of minutes later, taking the same seat across from Loki. Looking Loki in the eye, the man offers a jovial smile, "I'm told you're the one who kept my head in one piece. I must thank you for that, mister...?"

Loki smiles slightly sheepishly at the man's assumption and offers his hand for a shake with Mister Jules. "Call me Loki. I dunno about the head, Sir, I just escorted Mister Carver outside in order to get some fresh air and allow him to clear his head and calm down somewhat.
However, I remember him repeatedly muttering that 'he ruined everything' - I can only assume he meant you - and I have to say I am kind of curious, why he would want to bash in your head in the first place. So I was wondering, if you would humour me and shed some light on that, Sir?"

Loki uses the opportunity to inconspicuously measure up Mister Jules - e.g. how would his chances in a brawl with Mister Carver be when no alcohol was involved, what kind of body type has he, is it likely that his hands are able to handle intricate stuff like picking locks in addition to the "rougher" work of plumbing tasks, ...
Loki also taps into Mister Jules mind/feelings to "listen in" on anything he doesn't say out loud.
