Why am I getting an impression we are going to need to get the sphere back in a dating raid soon?

?? Dating raid? I'm not sure Dornikal is Zottle's type.

Are you sure? Dornikal is very suave.

He's a bit short and hairy for Zottle.

No accounting for taste I guess, Dornikal is a catch.

Well, I suppose if you were to find someone willing to stoop to experimenting with a filthy dwarf, it might be a wizard just willing to try it in the name is science...

Why not just unbury her and take her back to the wizard with you. Maybe he can speak to the dead... And maybe he'll send you back to the town to investigate if you wanted

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Might be easier said than done... Graverobbing and dragging a months-old corpse through town isn't going to endear us to anyone. Also ooc, I think it's only clerics who can talk to the dead so it might not entirely help. If we can take a bit of her back to him he might be able to go for a resurrection at some point... Nem wouldn't know about that, but I'm sure some of the others would.

Dig up the corpse, throw it in the bag of holding.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I mean, honestly, it is pretty effective for that end..! (long as one doesn't mind just some decay on whatever else is in the bag...) and while it's kind of macabre, it could be considered with purpose. It'd 1) confirm she's actually dead, 2) assuming the wizard cared about her enough (doubtful) he could still arrange for her resurrection, 3) potentially, speak with dead to learn more about the circumstances of her death.
...Though, for all three of those points, do we need to bring along the whole body or would just the head work..?

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I don't think we'd endear ourselves to our friend the wizard if we go about mutilating her corpse. And remember, 3 of the party have religion ties. I'm not sure that Dornikal would go along with that. Pretty sure it take some awful fast talking to get Randy to go along with it. Coljin being a priest might have issues as well.
Besides, we'd probably wind up with a headless revenant chasing after us, ala Sleepy Hollow style!
Just get a tightly woven sheet and wrap her in 3-4 layers. Maybe put some absorbent packing around her. Probably a little late for Coljin to use "Gentle repose" on her, although it might keep things from getting worse.
Or just stuff her in a cedar box and then stuff the box in...

Resurrection is a 7th level Bard or Cleric spell.
True Resurrection is a 9th level Cleric or Druid spell.
All the lesser ones need fresher corpses I think.

Yeah, theres not much you can do with months-old corpses I don't think... And even then, the soul has to be willing to return to the offered body. Talking might be the best we could realistically hope for, but I also suspect that this might just need some good old-fashioned CSI-ing
I doubt we'll learn too much from the body, but we might find a groundskeeper at the graveyard who can help us out with information.

Sorry things have stalled a bit on my end, took a spill on my bike last Wednesday (just dinged up and sore, nothing broken), and I kept not getting around to posting.

Bicycle. Wasn't going fast and the only things involved in it were me, my bike, a post and the sidewalk, so no other injuries at least.

*Wince* Glad you're alright (relatively speaking). Had a partner wind up with an ankle fracture and a pin after a bad tumble from a bike.

You hit the post or concrete first? Clipped the bottom of a sign once and don't remember hitting the concrete.

What did that poor post ever do to you and you bike? It was probably just minding it's own business.
