Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I have a scroll with it I intended to give Tess but might have forgotten when we were trading with the other caravan, also mage armor, although I don't think that is too interesting besides just having it.
Holger would also have tested the ring he bought to see if it would reveal his ring of inter party conflict at some point while beeing alone

Niiiiice!! He definitely never gave it to her and I didn't know you had it at all
I don't think she bought enough inks to scribe extra spells though so we'll need to wait until Estmont for scribing to happen.

I'm doing Inktober, where you draw something in ink based on a prompt each day of October. Yesterday was "Spell".
This is what I picture for Eldritch Blast.

Very nice, Spider. I did not know you liked to draw.

Nice. I like the way the vortex starts at the combined beam.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Yeah, used to much more when I was younger, the whole grad school thing took up a fair bit of drawing time. I do have a thread I put a bunch of things I've made in, though links aren't quite functioning properly.NotStickFigures wrote: ↑Fri Oct 05, 2018 10:55 am Very nice, Spider. Art Thread
My Goblin Adventurer's League game used mostly sketches to illustrate the story, my way of pushing myself to do a bit more quick drawings. Also drew stuff in my Girl Genius themed game, and my avatar is some digital art of a Star Wars character I had. Only really got back into drawing after getting involved in games here.
The other Inktober stuff I'd done was 60 second sketches, but I had an idea for "Spell" I wanted to spend more time on.

It looks pretty good, Spider.
Although it DOES remind me of the technique we used to use for making rope from bailing twine in scouts.

Thanks Burns, I took a photo of my own hand and used that as reference.
Now that you mention it, it kind of does look like rope twisting...

Kind of, but it's not braided so wouldn't hold as a rope

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
This is a bit relevant since Maji will probably be using it more, but I am learning ASL due to a coworker being deaf. The hard part is figuring out how to describe some of it.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I can't speak for anyone else here, but I have absolutely no ASL knowledge! It's a really cool idea, but I think the pantomiming that Maji used before might be easier to understand

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Thought about learning it a few times. We have to bring in a translator when those patients that are dependent on it come in. Lip reading becomes an important supplement, so your coworker may be pretty good at it. Worst comes to worst, a pen and pad works pretty well.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Fair enough, some of it is fairly intuitive, while others aren't as such. I guess I'll stick to stuff that makes sense to motion. Still slightly difficult since this is a text medium and not a visual one but hopefully I can get the point across.
Pen and pad does work wonders! Espessially things that are difficult/long to say. I am still goong to try to learn it. At the very least would be easier to communicate with him, and it'll be like our area has a secret language! You can sign things you can't say without most people knowing

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
ASL DOES get a bit cumbersome when you start getting technical. Most of it is like a "short hand" (no pun intended) version of common words, but you have to spell it out if you get something that doesn't have a short cut. Engineering/physics, medicine/biology, chemistry/pharmacology....yeah, you're going to be doing a lot of spelling. It's probably quicker to write it down in that case. I'm pretty good at KISS (keep it simple, stupid!), but it's a given that sooner or later, you're going to have to use "big words" (i.e. more than 3 syllables long). The "deer in the head lights" expression is your first clue that it's time for paper....either that or plan on saying it 3 different ways to get the message across. At least with paper, they can Google it later (and it's less subject to re-interpretation).

So Randy can buy the ink and the spell casters can reimburse him as they use it.

Anything that doesn't get used could probably be sold to someone else then.
