Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
You know what's nice about the original wild magic table? No permanent effects! If I'd wanted to be a chaos sorc I'd have taken a level in it by now
I'm mostly kidding by the way - I don't really mind what goes on the list as long as the stuff that might happen to the rest of us is easily fixable.

If Dornikal gains another foot in height due to Holger's crazy magic would his move speed become 30? Is he still a dwarf?
These are the questions that need to be answered.

Guys. Guys, idea...
Let's convert the deaf (at least for now, might soon be fixed) orc to Dumathoin.
Also, still saying Ulmwin would just be taking this time to practice his vocal chords and music to gain his new spells and feat... Should I just go ahead and do the pranks I had planned now, or..?

Dornikal would be onboard for the conversion of the orc.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Don't think Randy is going to be trying to convert anyone. One, that really wasn't his job and he'd rather not flub it. Two, he's still trying to come to an accommodation with his current situation: worshiping one deity and being co-opted by another. When his superiors loaned his services to the Abbey at Circle Vale, he didn't realize that they were going to take it so literally!

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
The going out and finding converts is kind of his thing, and as noted he has pretty much spent the last 5-6 years trying to do only that. There is a reason his survivor friends call him 'Preacher'.
Honestly that part of his personality makes me super uncomfortable too. I kind of let that guide me in how he acts regarding religion. Would Dornikal doing/saying this about religion make me uncomfortable? Does this feel like an awkward place to inject religion? Dornikal does so.
He is so devoted to his god that he gets a mini-smite on every hit while raging. That is pretty spifing devoted.
Randy's situation would probably cause Dornikal to have a breakdown. Probably violently.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
It has adjusted his thinking some. Right now, given some of the "forbidden knowledge" he picked up with his interaction with the All Mother, he's basically treating it like a change in which commanding officer he reports to. He still belongs to Obad-Hai's command but the General of the Army (the All Mother) has picked him for special duty. I guess there's something to be said for hierarchial organizations with a definite command structure.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Well if Dumathoin grunted and pointed/bow towards the All Mother you can bet Dornikal would be right there to hit... well really anything in her name. I may have missed it but is Obad-Hai okay with Randy being co-opted?
Also during googling also found that Obad-Hai is also a true neutral god like Dumathoin but with tendencies in the other direction (chaotic good rather than lawful neutral/good).

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Don't think he's weighed in officially. Seems to be more along the lines of ''turning a blind eye" to it, particularly since it's highly debatable about whether he'd be able to do anything about it, she being an Elder God and being the supposed creator of this particular planet/realm (some of that "forbidden knowledge" that was spoken of earlier). It's up to Spider if Obad-Hai wants to make an issue of it. I suspect it would be along the lines of "I protest this hijacking of my worshipers!"
Of course that doesn't make the mission provided Randy any less relevant.....

If the mission isn't just a setup and you've be co-oped by an evil god wanting to use you to destroy the world... That isn't convoluted at all.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
From what I've seen in the Cthulu Mythos, the Elder Gods don't normally mess around with deceiving their followers (well, Nyarlathotep might just for kicks). They just make them nuts and compliant. Much more efficient.
Of course, that raises the question: Is Randy still sane, or is he just really good at masking it?

You guy's do know there was a reason why Randy suggested burning the box rather than blasting it to pieces, right?

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
They hit it with firebolt, which would have set it on fire anyway if it was flammable. This might just be something that happens if you let the boxes reset.
Not sure how medical we need to get with the orc though...

Throwing fire at it seems to be doing exactly that
Pretty sure the skeleton animates once a day when the box is opened (or broken) and it did seem harder to damage than a regular box so I doubt the content would be harmed
