Nem's not a tailor, but she can help fix any mistakes you make :)

Would Dornikal be willing to take the spear and give Nem the rapier (at least for now?). I don't think she can use the spear effectively, but she could certainly use the rapier if the jackals come back. Or she can continue focussing on illusory type spells. I don't mind either way, she just can't do damage at the moment.l

Dornikal wouldn't mind that, the +5 hp per kill bonus is nice but he is more concerned about actually hitting them. I am not sure he knows that the spear is magic but if Tess came over with it and was having trouble wielding it...

Giving him swords and fixing clothes? Your going to buy yourself into Dumathoin's good graces!

In case any of you are interested, but haven't looked. I've started a new game (of sorts) and if any of you are interested in a creative writing outlet, well...the more the merrier. Link in my sig.

Spider, for the spear I am curious where the magical stats for it came from? Were they generated by you or by the weak magic items page?

It was originally from there, I think it just did poison instead as damage type, I made it complicated.

Where's the stats on the amulet again? Or is all it does is goodberries x 3?

It had a charge of Expeditious Retreat, but that's been spent. Once the goodberries are spent, it's just a mundane amulet.

So, thinking about it, I'm not sure if mending would work for the usecase Rodgeir is trying to do..? Or it might, it can be a bit ambigous- The spell sounds like it'd try to restore something to it's "original" state, but could it be used to put two tears next to each other and mend them together, even if it wasn't their original configuration..?

I'd argue it probably should if only to make the cantrip slightly more useful, but I might be biased. :P

By the way, could ulmwin look at the side of the wagon that zsaratha slightly destroyed when he breathed lightning at an enemy? might be a place to use mending.

Oh, yeah, that's one thing it should definitely work. He'd probably notice that, right?

When they were moving the wagons closer to around the well, I would imagine that everyone would have seen it.

And knowing how Spider likes to hold things like that for later schananaggins...I figured it would be good to address it now. :P

I'm certain I don't know what you mean. A few doses of mending should suffice to reknit the splintered wood, though anything that has been burned or charred away won't be restored.

Mending won't work to sew things together, it must be a tear or break in the original object. While using it to sew up a shirt doesn't seem like much, being able to fuse materials together like that isn't a long jump to more broken (for a cantrip) applications.

I am willing to say that contrary to repairing the guy's mandolin, that you only need to have the parts present, you don't need to reassemble and hold them together as if gluing them. If you cast the spell and have the two halves of the break, focus on one edge and the other will find it and re-join. So for the wagon, you just would want to have any bits and pieces of splintered wood, but don't need to figure out which scrap goes where. Just cast it a bunch of times to re-assemble it all.

So... What if we crudely sew the shirt together in a way that fits Dorni, break it, then mend it..? :P

It'd restore the breaks to that of a crudely sewn shirt. :P

Ulmwin's got the skill to do it.

Tinker's Tools
A set of tinker's tools is designed to enable you to repair many mundane objects. Though you can't manufacture much with tinker's tools, you can mend torn clothes, sharpen a worn sword, and patch a tattered suit of chain mail.
Components. Tinker's tools include a variety of hand tools, thread, needles, a whetstone, scraps of cloth and leather, and a small pot of glue.
History. You can determine the age and origin of objects, even if you have only a few pieces remaining from the original.
Investigation. When you inspect a damaged object, you gain knowledge of how it was damaged, and how long ago.
Repair. You can restore 10 hit points to a damaged object for each hour of work. For any object, you need access to the raw materials required to repair it. For metal objects, you need access to an open flame hot enough to make the metal pliable.

Activity | DC
Temporarily repair a disabled device | 10
Repair an item in half the time | 15
Improvise a temporary item using scraps | 20

Oh..! Well, obviously, I knew that. :shifty: What kind of dc would that be..? I guess a DC of 10, 15 for half time..?

Let me get out another edit :P

It'd be easy enough for you that I'd not make you roll for it, it'd be something you could do over your long rest, and use 1.5 robes to make.

Will all this work result in a nifty sneak robe or will Dornikal just be a bit more stylish?
