I'm not judging, but I'm going to laugh a lot if Tess ends up being the reason that Holger and Maji spend a night in jail

Lol! I'm just impressed that Holder has managed to find a way to ignore her this early into their relationship

Actually, thinking about it... Does being inebriated affect WIS saves?

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
WotC hasn't really codified rules for inebriation, but in general I'd be treating it as being poisoned.
This guy doesn't look all that wise though...PHB wrote:Poisoned. - A poisoned creature has disadvantage on Attack rolls and Ability Checks.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I made a bit of an in chat explanation about Randy's actions. I have to admit, if it's the group's desire to perform, Randy will have to find a supporting role rather than be an active participant. There's very little chance that they'll be able to get him onto a stage and not have him freak out...possibly violently. Maj and Randy probably have more in common that most of the party suspects.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Why on Earth would anyone ask Randy to perform?! We've got (at least?) three folk with the Performer background which is why it gets pushed so hard when it's feasible, but we're a band of adventurers first and foremost and I don't think anyone would expect Randy to be even remotely good on stage.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Almost right...I can see him doing security/bodyguard duty. Bouncer needs someone with a little bigger physique than him. But he's just about right for a Secret Service type (which I'm sure Holger would find ... appropriate ). Just put him in a black suit with a pair of wrap arrounds or Ray Bans. Or he could audition for the MIB!

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Randy, Maji and Dornikal can run security and logistics, Coljin can be the band's manager, and the other three provide the music, stories and dancing?

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
See, Dornikal would probably make for good advertising / ringmaster if we could ever get him to start talking about us instead of Dumathoin
Maji could be our performing animal (no ethics problems in our circus!), and Zephyr (when she rejoins) could be the one who makes sure everyone pays the entry fee

Dornikal wouldn't stop talking about Dumathoin no matter what role he was in. He is always looking for an opportunity to spread the Word!

Just post Dornikal farther down the street and people will duck in to watch your show just to avoid the evangelism!

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
But we aren't limited with our spells, we have cantrips that can be cast all the time. Besides, I'm also pretty sure the commander noticed the mage armor more than anything elseArch Lich Burns wrote: ↑Sun Feb 24, 2019 9:23 am (He was mostly comparing how Holger cast to Ulmwin's. He's been casting quite a bit for someone with 'limited' spells. He saw Holger cast detect magic a few times, and it was more noticible when he was being interrigated by the Commander for the second time. He didn't see Holger cast it as a ritual at all and the Commander pointed it out that it was actually a spell.)

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Holger said he had detect magic as well. Maji also was not referring to cantrips, but the larger spells, which he has casted quite frequently.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I am prone to over-complicating things, and while I didn't really have anything specific in mind when you arrived here, I think I've got the city and what went down pretty mapped out and am going to try to resist adding in additional layers of stuff, at least in terms of your main goal for being here. If you go off on 'side quests', that will of course be added in as needed.thinkslogically wrote: ↑Tue Feb 26, 2019 5:20 am Nem nods to Coljin.
"Sounds like this might be a little less simple than we hoped."
It's certainly not as simple as getting a room here, finding out she's been here the whole time, but her 'phone' has just been turned off, but I'll try not to draw things out too terribly long!

I don't think Coljin and Nem were complaining, just making sure they figured out that there will be investigation involved. Not a bad thing, we haven't had too much along that line in the game.

It seems like the best place for Dornikal is in his room out of sight.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Yeah, wasn't really taking it as one, it just echoed an OOC thought I had, so figured I ought to say something in case folks were feeling a bit too 'bait and switched' as far as your intended destination of the Eastern Cities and doing this job for Kreldoran supposedly being a shortcut on that.thinkslogically wrote: ↑Tue Feb 26, 2019 12:15 pm Yeah, no complaints at all from me OOC Nem just wants to piss about in the city is all and not do too much work!

Maji is disapponted he won't see any more dragonborns anytime soon, but he'll get over it. He's more annoyed that he's an in unknown human city surrounded by humans.
