((Alright, you're probably at the extent of 'free talk'. Dornikal can reply on his turn. Also, correction to earlier post.... when you guys were exploring at night, you TOTALLY did NOT see an orc in plate. Now that you think back, it was DEFINITELY chain mail. ))

Re: The Sundered Way
Zephyr raises an eyebrow at the very naked Dorf, forcing herself to look straight at his face to keep her mind from wandering anywhere close to the beard between his legs.
She quickly unslings her fancy new spear from her back and hands it to the dorf.
She then peers over the edge at the orcs down below, trying to get an idea on how difficult a shot at them would be.

Randy looks warily at the newcomer, trying to see if he recognizes him.
He reclaims his bow, halberd, and sword since it looks like nobody is going to take up his challenge. He keeps the gem handy.

Is Coljin, or will he be on this turn, close enough to hear what the others up here are saying, or can he at least talk to them without having to get too loud.

Coljin will continue to clamber towards the prisoners. He will say, "Did the orcs have any other way up here, other than that one path up front?"

Re: The Sundered Way
Randy receives a short reply as he reclaims his gear.
Tess has a hurried discussion with the newly liberated prisoners.
Ulmwin stays put, but Maji slowly walks forward, all wary like. ((And is now within Tess's message range.))
The blue dragonborn lets the summoned energies dissipate, no targets immediately available. He looks over at Tess, as well as Zephyr, before croaking out a hoarse, "Water?", before readying to cast again.
The nude, bloody female speaks up in her own ragged voice. "Tren.", she says, indicating herself. "Szartha." (the dragonborn)
"Dornikal." (the shorn dwarf)
"Galt." (the currently blinded half-orc)
"Talish and Rens." (the dead dwarven female and human male)
Zephyr hands the spear and dagger off to the dwarf, before heading to the edge of the ledge. She can make out the heads of the two orcs, they are about 15 feet south of her, and 20 ft down over the edge. ((Mechanically, they currently have 3/4ths cover.))
Holger hurries onward.
Coljin scrabbles down the last bit, arriving at the head of the trail near Dornikal, asking about other paths up.
The shielded orc is warily looking about while his chief speaks... he turns and catches a glimpse of Zephyr peering over the edge, and taps the bigger orc on the arm. The 'lieutenant' turns and barks an order at one of the 'underling' orcs, who promptly charges out of the cave and doggedly begins heading up the trail.
Szartha unleashes the spell he'd been storing, a crackling bolt of fire lancing past the dodging orc's head to snuff itself out on the sand below.
Szartha: Fire bolt: 2D20.LOW(1)+5 = [7, 7]+5 = 12
2D10 = [3, 2] = MISS
((I think this qualifies as what Ulmwin had been waiting for, if you want to pop up and fire, I'll say it's a flat roll, your hidden position and their unawareness of you somewhat offsetting (maybe) the distance and dodging of the orc.))
He shouts down to the others, and the leader gestures and barks a response as two more orcs surge past him out of the tunnel.
((Randy and Ulmwin are still ~200 ft south of the entrance.))

Dornikal will press the dagger into Galt's hand and say,
"They're coming again meh friend, let's take a few more. Aye'll let ye know."
Dornikal takes a deep breath and yells so Korgal can hear,
"Dumathoin!"
He takes a defensive stance and wait for them. ((Dodge))

Nem scowls.
"Coljin, can you get them healed and moving? Those without armor or weapons stay to the back!"
She draws her crossbow, and moves back up the slope a bit, looking for a rock to hide behind and use as cover (priority). She'll CA hide, and ready a crossbow shot to shoot the first orc that pops into view.
Stealth: 1D20+4 = [15]+4 = 19

Re: The Sundered Way
Dornikal bellows a challenge, and Randy, Maji and Ulmwin see his face twist with rage and hatred.
Galt haltingly takes the blade, his injured and swollen eyes leaving him blind, but he still shifts his feet in the gravelly ground, readying himself as he listens for danger.
"My count isn't nearly high enough, Preacher.", he says with a grinning grimace. "DUMATHOIN!"
Korgal stomps towards the ramp, pulling up the crossbow and firing at Dornikal, but the bolt flies wide and skips off stone. Cursing, the orc tosses it to the side and pulls free his greataxe, bellowing a wordless challenge.
Korgal: Heavy Xbow: Dornikal: 2D20.HIGH(1)+3 = [6, 4]+3 = 9
1D10+1 = [2]+1 = MISS
Another orc moves out from the cave mouth, female among the other male orcs, clad in ring mail and carrying a spear and shield. She utters a few words and points at Yertak, Korgal and the lead orc before retreating. Each she indicated stands a little taller, rolling their shoulders and loosening their necks for the carnage that is sure to follow.

Randy curses.
He fires and begins moving forward (target is whichever orc is closest.)
long bow (disadvantage): 2D20.LOW(1)+4 = [10, 18]+4 = 14 (Maybe?)
long bow damage: 1D8+2 = [3]+2 = 5

((Rolling now in case you want to move on when I'm busy))
Readied crossbow attack (rolled twice for adv in case the hiding works out):
Crossbow attack: 1D20+4 = [5]+4 = 9
1D20+4 = [19]+4 = 23
Assuming she hits from being hidden:
Crossbow damage: 1D8+2D6+2 = [7]+[2, 4]+2 = 15

Re: The Sundered Way
Maji gives a growl and moves forward 30 Nwest...(left) I think. Seeing I am barely out of range, I guess he'll use a dash to move another 40N to get in the orc at the end of the hill's face.
Edit! Question! If I use the magic item of expeditious retreat can I still cast a concentration spell?
If yes then Maji will instead activate the flame etched necklace for expidicious retreat to get close enough range so that he can faerie fire as many orcs on the hill as possible
