Re: The Sundered Way
Well he kept the ring out of sight while you had it on and while I forgot to specify it, I think Holger is selfconscious enough about it to make sure it was invisible before revealing his hands to the others and very suspicious of Tess trying to trick him after their conversation
Up to Spider though what he deems correct

Re: The Sundered Way
((I was assuming you were always keeping it invisible.))
No one gets fooled by Tess's trick, but it some variant would probably work pretty well to scam folks on a street corner.
((If Maji or Dornikal had rolled a high perception recently, they might hear hooves on rock, you both went a fair bit around to get to the other end.))
((Randy, how close would you guys have set up? I'm assuming within range to shoot, Tren has a crossbow, Galt is melee and javelins, so he might be more of the run up and finish them sort.))

Dornikal pushes more quickly down to where the goats were after hearing some movement while remaining watchful for the wolf.

((Ooooooh! I see what you meant now - the ring's always invisible, but you're not hiding your hands beyond that. Cool - I was confused cos I thought you were being suddenly very blase about it and dropping the invisibility on purpose, which would be weird))

Re: The Sundered Way
(Maji rolled high enough to see Dornikal.)
Maji wags his tail in excitement as he sees the hoof prints running twoard the others. He chases after them, barking as he herds them closer to the group.
(Do I need animal handling to herd goats?)

The little herd of goats moves together, breaking to the east, but a dark form slips from the canyon, snarling barks driving them back towards the three laying in wait.

Re: The Sundered Way
Randy would have taken station about 30 ft back from the canyon. If the goats are within 120 feet, he would likely take a shot. Would that be normal or at disadvantage?

Re: The Sundered Way
Randy takes aim at the goat in front of the herd, leads his target, and lets fly.

Re: The Sundered Way
Randy's arrow hits the lead billy in the shoulder and the goat goes down with a bleat, the heard splitting as they dart into the dark, Tren firing on and dropping a second goat, while Galt hurls a javelin that goes wide.
Tren: Xbow: 1D20+4 = [8]+4 = 12
1D8+2 = [4]+2 = 6
Galt: Javelin: 2D20.LOW(1)+7 = [2, 6]+7 = 9
1D6+5 = [2]+5 = MISS
Maji's able to keep from loosing ground on the fleeing goats, but won't be easily able to catch up to them, while Dornikal has been left in the dust up the canyon. The ranged folks can likely pull off another shot before the goats get out of range.

Re: The Sundered Way
Randy quickly nocks one of his readied arrows, swings on the rapidly vanishing herd, aims and fires.
long bow: 1D20+4 = [18]+4 = 22
long bow damage: 1D8+2 = [7]+2 = 9
Another goat tumbles into the dust.
Randy grins. "We'll eat well for the next few days and have enough to jerk into rations for the trip. Maybe we won't have to eat snake after all."

Upon hearing the commotion, especially the yipping, Dornikal picks up the pace to get down to where the others had been.

((I guess we'll have to wait for Spider to see if Tren got another one or not. If she wings one, we may need Maj to help track down the wounded one. Hopefully, she'll just kill another one outright.))
