"That's definitely magic more geared towards merchants. Almost feel bad I tricked her of something making her livelyhood easier, does it need atunement?"

"Oh, the ring you bought was magical, I didn't know that. I was more pre-occupied with buying herbs when you were buying that I guess. And here she told me that she had no magic for sale." He shrugs but doesn't lose his smile, "Oh well, her perogative. Yep, not really dungeon-delving type of ring, although the detecting illusion part might come in handy. Does it work constantly or only when you will the detections to be on?"

To Holger he asks, "How do you think you tricked her out of the ring? Do you not think she knew it was magical?"

Randy sees a commotion amongst the goats.

"Get ready."

He nocks an arrow and has two more close to hand.

"She might have known, but I'm sure it would save her more in the long run to keep it than what I gave. Her staff was magical as well and one of the guards had magical amulet on him. Don't think it was meant to be sold though. I assume the ring recharges daily or close enough?"

"Yeah, as far as I can tell anyway."

She grins again.

"But here's my question for you three. Can you tell which ring is the one Holger bought?"

Cojlin smiles when he sees that Tess has some magical game of trickery she is playing and he quickly moves in closer to take a look at the rings she is showing.

"What's the catch? is the other an illusion? Or what fun are you up to??" He is openly intrigued by the game. How many rings is she showing?

She puts the hand with the ring on it into her belt pouch, and produces three more identical rings in her palm (so 4 total).

Is it now that I should ruin the fun by telling you items made with prestidigitation only lasts one round unless Spider is very kind to you? :P

In case Spider allows it for this one time, Holger will subtly point out the correct one so Coljin doesn't notice the answer.
((If it's one of those in her palm, then Holger will open up again and not keep his invisible ring additionally hidden))

"Can our side use spells, too, in the rules for this game, or just our innate senses?"

He then goes off on a sort of tangent, "At home, in Ardent's Stead, we often had games like this that we played. I mean, yes, gnomes are known for pulling practical jokes and such, but for some reason, our elders where much more fond of games in which you had to use your mind and think through problems. The fact that gnomes from child on can cast minor illusions, may have been a factor in that. I'm sure the really old elders could get tired of constant illusions and jokesters. Ulmwin's joke, was only unexpected to me in the fact that it is the first one I've noticed that he has pulled." He chuckles a bit at the thought of it again, and then he finally quiets waiting for Tess's answer on the rules question.

((lol, yeah this just got complicated haha!))

Nem takes off the ring from her finger and palms it with the others, making a bit of a show of the whole affair, while she talks, pausing every so often to open her hands and show one or two of the brass rings before producing another from out of nowhere.

"Use whatever tricks and magic you like, I'm curious how easy is to see through some of these new spells. It's certainly been a while since I had a chance to practice some ordinary magic tricks! I used to pass quite a bit of time watching the others practice these. I wasnt ever so good as them of course, but cheating certainly makes things easier!"

Since he assumes Holger will use detect magic on the rings, Coljin will attempt to figure out which ring is real with a bit of guidance and using his arcana and his gnomish heritage of growing up around a heck of a lot of illusions.

Squinting at the four rings, then looking up into Tess's eyes and staring like an all knowing cleric, (but probably just looking kinda creepy) he will try to figure out which is the real ring.

Arcana guided: 1D20+1D4 = [18]+[2] = 20

Maji begins slinking down into the canyon, headed toward where the goats must be. However, he didn't account for airflow, and before he or Dornikal catch sight of the goats, the others waiting on the far end see the goats raise their heads, cluster up, and begin moving away from the trees towards them.

Assuming no one falls for her terrible trick, Nem will reveal the correct ring and offer it back to Holger.

((So is his other ring visible now? I wasn't clear on the conditions for him revealing it))

Dornikal just keeps sneaking. Sneakily oblivious that the plan to flush the goats is working.
