Randy smiles and nods politely during the server's exposition. When the server heads back to the kitchen, the smile slips from Randy's face and he rolls his eyes heavenward. "What do you bet they charge about half again what it's actually worth?"spiderwrangler wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2019 11:32 am The server expounds on the dark fruit notes with the leathery undertone of the wine Randy selects before going to fetch it for him.
He looks over at Tess and Ulmwin. "When we get an opportunity, there's a equipment purchase I'd like to discuss with everyone. A local sword smith has offered to sell me a sword that has been 'enhanced' so that it does more damage and can hit the target easier. But...it's expensive. Too expensive for me to handle the cost by myself, even with the extra gold we earned in the sewers. I can cover about 2/3 the cost, but I'd need to come up with the rest still and still have some funds to live on."

Zokk tries to listen to the muffeled music better, getting closer to the open window. Zokk says sadly ”Haaaard tooooheeeaaar wiiith waaaall.”

Seeing the audience captivated by familiar songs, Holger decides to take the chance with a few more exotic songs he has learned outside the human lands.
Can he hear what the others are saying or is he too noisy? Does he recognise anyone else in here?

Re: The Sundered Way
The server departs from the garden, returning with Coljin's dry white, which is quite lovely, all sorts of crisp fruit notes that remind him of the start of summer. Zokk is presented, rather apprehensively, with a goblet of a sweet mead.
Holger spots his friends across the dining room... or at least those permitted inside, but they are too far for him to do much more than smile (carefully) at them before returning to his playing. His more exotic selections seem to be going over well enough, perhaps riding on the good will the start of his set earned him.
The three at the table are brought drinks, or at least the two fellows are, Tess having already received her tiny glass of alcohol that was made from and steeped in cherries, which impart a lively color and flavor to the drink.
((Holger, you can give me a Perception check, please.))
((Anyone else trying to do anything, or just enjoying the evening?))
((Ulmwin, I'm kind of assuming you've ordered, otherwise the server would be getting uppity with you?))
Back at the Lame Goat, Gordon sleeps while in another room Dornikal is feeling a bit uninspired when it comes to gem cutting. He manages to do a decent job at the hands on part, but it's not his best work.

You know there's only one thing in the room worth paying attention to and that's clearly Holger!

Re: The Sundered Way
((Heh. They are their own creation (believe Burns is using they/them pronouns for Zokk). Many of the carnivorous plants have evolved in nitrogen poor soils, and supplementing with insects or other non-soil sources is a successful trait. However, trees "eat" through their leaves, since all of the carbohydrates that they produce from photosynthesis start with carbon dioxide. Roots are just to gain water, and other necessary elements (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium are the main ones). So when Zokk is 'eating', they are more after the sugars in the food than the other stuff, at least in terms of fulfilling a daily meal if they don't have access to sunlight. We'll say they can form an orifice that leads to a chamber not unlike a pitcher plant where they can dissolve and absorb the sugars as well as other parts of what they eat. Yeah... I may have gone a little "biologist" on figuring out Zokk mechanics. The warning is always about not trying to apply real world physics to D&D, no one warns you about biology and chemistry!))

Re: The Sundered Way
(( Interesting. Bring along a bag of sugar and a water container and Zokk is good to go for a few days without light. Give it some jerky (smoked, not salt cured), and it's good to go for even longer. I'm assuming it's "vocal cords" are probably more like a woodwind instrument's reed and it has some kind of bellows system (maybe a bit like a bagpipe?) ))
