Dornikal whispers to the assembled hunting party,

"Aye'm gonna try and sneak round behind them and flush them this way."

He gives the group a critical look,

"Randy, yer light on yer feet. Can ye see well enough to accompany meh? Aye'll go to the right and ye to the left?"

((How is the light? Just realized 3/5 of the party don't have dark vision.))

Whether or not Randy is up to tag along Dornikal heads off, staying low and moving silently while also staying amazingly aware of his surroundings. It's good to be on a hunt again.

Sneaking up on some goats: 1D20+3 = [18]+3 = 21

Listening and watching while sneaking up on some goats: 1D20+4 = [20]+4 = 24

During hunting and prank time, Coljin is pretty much staying to himself and just casting ritual detect magic and searching every last spiderwebby corner and cranny of this mine. Since he is in no rush, he is taking his time and using everything at his disposal (guidance). Looking for anything that might have been missed, not just magic. Anything that might be of value, or hidden passages or hidey-holes.

Investigation with guidance: 1D20+1D4 = [13]+[2] = 15

stealth: 1D20+5 = [6]+5 = 11

Randy promptly steps on an unseen stick, grimaces, sits back down. "I can't see well enough to go sneaking. I'd better stay put. Maybe I can shoot one if it gets close enough." He unlimbers his bow and nocks an arrow, looking a little doubtful.

Maji picks up a twig and gives a grin. He writes Could be goat and lead goats.

(Can maji even do that?)

Randy looks at the light level, grimaces. "About as well as white or grey or brown under the given circumstances. Unless you can literally make your hide mirror like, I don't think just a color change is going to do it. And it'll have to be something fairly obvious. Like horns on a big horn sheep obvious in this light. "
(( Been coming back from the field in low light conditions before. Colors just don't come through well in moonlight, even a bright full moon. Even shapes get blurry with lesser light conditions. Part of the problem is the human eye lacks enough rods in the central part of our vision to do a good job in low light. And to make it worse, there's a significant portion of the light coming through in the blue spectrum, the frequency that our eyes do the worst with. ))

Holger changes his focus after talking with Ulmwin and starts making illusions of the enemies they have slain and the various places it was done. Some of it could perhaps be used for a perfomance.

Once Tess has had ample of time to identify the ring he bought, he'll look for her in the cave. He'll keep his hands in his pockets or hidden with crossed arms. He'll smile friendly at Tess and talk in a friendly tone. Also trying to see if she's wearing the ring.

"So figured out what the ring does yet or are you still caring for the illusion?"

Dornikal wrote: Fri Aug 10, 2018 2:57 pm "What are ye two going to do when we get back to the east?"
Galt scratches at the puckered scar around his missing eye. "Depends on what Szartha's next move is. He gave me a place... This trip turned out ill, but if he means to rebuild, he'll need help."

Tren sighs. "Part of me wants to just find a job doing something simple... serving ale, mucking out stables... but the rest of me knows I'd be going batty within the month. I'll stay on if Szartha'll have me."

Galt looks at her, "Neither one of us is equal to Hagorth, but between the two of us... maybe.."

She nods, "I'm sure he'd be glad to have you... but this job was just a means to an end for you." She holds up a hand to forestall any objections. "Not saying you weren't giving it your all, Preacher, but I don't see you spending your life guarding caravans."

Dornikal vanishes into the night, intent on heading to the far end of the canyon. Randy decides against trying to do the same, and he and Maji ponder other approaches.

((Dim light would be seen in shades of grey, and wild shape should result in a form that's within a standard deviation of your average example of that beast. Eg, not goats with 6 ft horns. You've had mutton, so I'm fine with "sheep" being on your list.))

Coljin gives a through search of the cave, turning up a pair of missed gold pieces, but everything seems to have been well searched... other than the "latrine". It's of a size that a gnome not wearing armor might be able to squeeze down, but well... it's covered in the sort of stuff a latrine tends to be covered in, and too narrow and dark to see what is beyond. It looks that at one point there may have been a passage, that had since collapsed, leaving only a slit wide enough to squat over.

((Yeah Holger wasn't too interested and would likely ruin the fun by casting sleep and knocking out as many as he could hit with the spell. :p

He stayed outside practicing though for maybe two hours, not sure when Tess would drop the search to go identify the ring))

((Gotcha- I wasn't sure.))

Holger will find Nem and Ulmwin in the cart chatting about magical stuff. She'll step out when she hears him looking for her.

"I think you were right, you know! I lt does suit me!"

She holds up her hand to show off the brass ring on her finger. It probably looks fairly plain next to the (pretty worthless) jewelery she usually wears on her hands but the colour would match.

"It's an interesting ring and it should certainly be useful."

She gives him a searching look.
