(In draconic) "There are others, esteemed elder. Present are an orc and a wood elf druid. They may come to greet you when their tasks are complete. Three others are on another task, elsewhere in these swamps."

Mehr casts his thoughts back, trying to remember the name Barethi. An ancestor of his clan, perhaps, or a brass dragon, or even one whose sorcery was as unpredictable as his own.

When he is done Varsk will loop back towards the front of the hut to see how the wake up is going and to remind Vaceran to stop screwing around and grab his bow. Upon seeing the conscious elder he comments,

"He ready to go?"

Druid Group

As Mehriv points out Syli's presence nearby, the old man let's go of him and hobbles as fast as he can manage towards her, grabbing her roughly by the shoulders and staring at her with a strange intensity.

In druidic:
...yes... You are the Huntress whose claws will rend Shaxani's chains... But the last? ... Perhaps.
Where is the fourth?

As Varsk wanders around the corner to hurry everyone along, the old man let's out a cry of delight and rushes forward to grab him too.

In orcish:
"Varsk! Father of Kirzil! You have come.

In common:
"The beginning is ended."

He releases Varsk and returns to Vaceran, patting him the shoulder with a smile. His eyes seem to have lost their firy-bright intensity as he lowers himself stiffly back into his seat.

"It is all right now. They are here. They will help. All is as is needs to be. ...I am hungry though. Would you fetch me something?

He leans back in his chair, calm and content.

None of you have the faintest idea what he's talking about.

Varsk shakes his head slowly and responds in Orcish,

"Father of Kirzil?"

His fingers tap lightly on the butt of the crossbow attached to his belt.

"Maybe, who's his mom? But more importantly how the abyss would you know?"

To everyone,

"If we are going to go we best get goin'"

The old man looks at Varsk with a look of confusion and impatience.

In orcish:
"What are you talking about? I'm not going anywhere."

Gwen seeing that the old man did not reply, goes to ask him the questions again.

Varsk grits his teeth and, ignoring the crazy dragonborn, says,

"I've cleaned up our tracks as best I could so the kobold aren't gonna be tipped off from that but you still got to make a decision boss. Stay, and maybe fight, or run."

Druid Group

The old man looks increasingly irritated at the questions.

"I don't know who that is, or what you're looking for. If YOU don't know, how could I?"

He looks down at his hands and starts rubbing at the scales, muttering grumpily to himself as he does.

"They're all wrong. Too dark. Too red. They should be bright and yellow! Vaceran! They're the wrong colour!

Vaceran puts a hand on Gwen's shoulder.

"This happens sometimes. Not often, but I've seen it maybe two or three times when he's been bad for a while. He gets all intense and then says things that don't make any sense and then forgets he's said them. I think it's what makes some folk believe he's a seer or something. I wouldn't pay it much mind, it's probably nonsense."

The elf walks over to the dragonborn and pats his hands gently.

"It's all right, don't mind that now. Here, I'll fetch you some lunch!"

The old man sulks.

Gwen looks at the elderly dragonborn as the elf walks away. She locks eyes with him. "I am not familiar with some of those languages bit, forgive me if I mispronounce them....maybe this will help." Gwen uses disguise self to look like the (golden?) dragonborn, with shining eyes included. She repeats the prophesies in order, pointing to the respective person and then looks at him to repeat the last one.

"The beginning is ended."

((it certainly is))

Gwen changes her shape to reflect the old dragonborn in front of her, and makes a stab at repeating what he just said.

((Make 3 INT checks please, one for each statement in a language you don't speak (with advantage).))

Gwen is able to make passable attempts at repeating the words she heard the dragonborn speak. It's crude, and the others clearly don't approve of her pronunciation, but it's ok.

The old man watches and frowns.

"Who are you supposed to be? What are you talking about?"

He shifts in his seat and looks uncomfortable, still rubbing at his hands and muttering to himself.

"Typical brass dragon, always talking, talking, talking..."

"You. You just said these things. Please remember."

Gwen looks at Mehriv and mentally asks him. <What was that word again?>

Mehr shrugs to Varsk's words, "I cannot agree to abandon one of my kin, and it seems a potential prophecy requires we all be here. I would ask you to be prepared to fight."

Mehr nods at Gwen's request, "Elder, do you recognise 'Valemgaldro'?"

"I'm always ready to fight it's the rest of you that need to get ready."

Varsk surveys the surroundings once more,

"They may not be comin' back tonight but we should expect'm. Have you considered how we should setup?"

I guess we're going inland from here? Beach the canoe, take a look around for a path or signs of life?

"Well seems like we should have a pair of outside the hut and a pair inside the hut. I would say it would be better to have you and Gwen outside as you've got the best ranged attacks and can hit them once things start in here but you can't see in the dark. Gwen is probably still good to have outside along with Syli. You and I can surprise them in here."

He looks to see if there is general agreement.

"Can you make me disappear or something? And it would be best if the elder there is out for this."

((How strong are the walls of the hut? Can you give a layout of what Varsk sees for decent sniper points? Rolls as needed:

Investigation for the hut walls: 2D20.HIGH(1)+3 = [8, 7]+3 = 11

Perception: Sniper points: 2D20.HIGH(1)+4 = [6, 20]+4 = 24
))
