Korrik just isn't familiar enough with the forest to know how long it takes things to wear out unfortunately.

Kal consults his knowledge of forest dwellings, looks around for anything generally unusual or noteworthy, and then tries to figure out what's going here. In that order.

"Don't go far, Gwen, I imagine there is little hope of finding her. As for where she is, we can only guess. I imagine she would want to spend some time with other druids for once."

I head over to the little house. Is there a ladder or some way of reaching it?

It looks like there's a short, steep, wooden staircase around the rear of the building, which is about the size of an average garden shed. Moving a little closer to the building, you can see that it's quite overgrown. The shutters are split and broken, and spiderwebs and mould are growing up around the window frames.

Kal reckons that it wouldn't necessarily take too long for a building like this to succumb to the forest, but it must have already been in fairly poor shape to get into this state. He guesses that it must not have been kept in good repair for at least a few weeks. There does appear to be an unusually high number of spiders' webs around the roof and windows though, which is quite a lot given how spidery the swamp is in general...

((I'll give Syli a chance to post before we move on, but to answer her previous questions, the dwarf woman says:

"Well it depends on which lizardfolk you're talking about. The ruins are a good few days northeast of the Burning Tree tribe though. Not so far north of the Ironscales." ))

"Be careful. I don't think anything elflike* is living here, but that's an impressive amount of spiderwebs. Spiders can get pretty large out in the wilds, and, in any case, they must be eating something. Disturbing the web will attract the spider who built it. Hopefully it's just small spiders eating those annoying mosquitoes, but be wary. "

*Having grown up in a remote elf village, I can't quite see him using the word "humanoid."

Varsk shrugs back into his armor but leaves his gear laying until they actually get moving. He takes the time to walk slowly through a block and counter strike before trying it at full speed over and over.

I'll cautiously approach the steps, rattling my staff against them.

"Hey spiders, I'm coming up, back off!"

Korrik's spider sense starts tingling as he approaches the steps leading up to the house. The door is just a little open, and through the gap he can see more webs, and catches just a faint smell of decay. Nothing as bad as yesterday's awfulness, but there nonetheless... He catches a glimpse of movement on the ceiling near the door... It looked big.

Merric shivers slightly as the chill armor solidifies around his body. Thick condensation billows off it from the humid air and swirls around his feet.

Korrik is slightly alarmed by the sounds Merric starts making, and also by the fact that they're repeated from inside.

Syli chortles at her prank. "I'm hopeful. That's why I'm asking about the local tribes."

After hearing her response, Syli puts a hand to the back of her own neck, thinking. "I'm... not familiar with the names of the local tribes. Do either of those use a bloody red claw sigil to mark their territory?"

"Be ready to pull me out if that spider is lying, and light a torch or something."
