*In SWSE, and I'll find the complete list, you can "take 10s and 20s" on most skill checks as long as you aren't in combat and they are things that can't easily be failed. That being said, your ability to use the datapad is not in question, please instead roll a straight up INT check or knowledge galactic Lore.*

Nuw pulls out the datapad with astrological data and begins studying it. He finds himself overcome with how much information is at his fingertips.

As nuw clicks around on the small screen, he finds a well placed search function which seems to be voice activated, he can also tell, based on the output, that it works based on basic.

*Essentially, a person speaks into it, in basic, and it works as a search function.*

Nuw frowns and hands the datapad over to someone who can actually speak basic and points to "FLASH STATION" on the paper.

Q remembers that flashpoint station was a research station that existed during the era of the mandalorian wars, it was captured in the mid 3960's by the mandalorians and subsequentially destroyed by the jedi's who recaptured it.

What you think you remember is confirmed when you speak "Flash point station" into the datapad. A brief description pops up, floating slightly above the surface explaining in detail what it was, where it is and when it was destroyed. The closest planet is designated Taris in the Ojoster sector.

The datapad seems to pause in thought/calculation for a moment, and then poses a question in basic on the screen. "state where you are to route best path to destination"

*Flash-Point Station Information*

ICC: "Why would someone send us...I assume.... to a science station on a lifeless world that's been abandoned for almost 4,000 years? And this says the place was destroyed during a war...how in the hell are we supposed to give a data disk to someone in charge? And if we are on Farpoint...there is no way we're going to get to said hole in the ground anyway...there is no atmosphere based on this indicator..."

Rando rubs a clawed hand against his forehead. He quickly rifles through his belongings... gratified at least that his "exotic weaponry" was still there, tucking the hilt under his robes and out of sight. Getting things situated, he turns to the others.

Image

"Sso, they kidnap uss and expect uss to go on a misssion that they don't bother to explain? They besst hope I don't get my clawss on them...", his rasping sibilant voice clearly showing his anger at their treatment.

His hands unclench and he takes a deep breath. "Until then, I ssuggesst what we follow the only lead we have. I am Rando, by the way. Rando Rollrisssian."

"No explanation and no talk of payment."

Yan glances over at Nuw and Q, "Hey, would it help if someone stuck his head out a window and had a look around?"

You all notice that is getting really dark really fast. It seems as though whatever light that was pulled through with the gate is now dying, and where once the place was lit up like a candle, it is now quickly darkening, almost like a setting sun. Far in the distance you see the large blocky shape of what is probably a door of some kind and then darkness consumes you. The only light is the soft glow of the datapad in Q's hands.

OOC: (I am assuming Lady Q doesn't care since she detects photons by the Force)

Yan glances over at Nuw and Q, "Hey, would it help if someone stuck his head out a window and had a look around?"

"If this is Flashpoint then you'd need to have a full atmospheric suit..."

Lady Q notes the door but begins moving towards the opossite wall..."I want to see if there is any writing on the walls...I hope someone else has some glow rods because I don't need them..."

Lady Q then walks along the perimeter of the room trying to see if she can note anything before leaving the space...

OOC: Please always assume that unless I tell you otherwise.

Strange texts in an ancient language litter the walls from top to bottom, going higher up the walls even what your senses can see. From the extent of your knowledge you can tell that while you cannot understand the words, it is written in the language of the Gree. (Galactic Lore Check)

Nuw presses his head agaisnt the window to look outside, not too affected by the lack of light except for colour. When Q says they would need an atmospheirc suit he cocks his head and points to his flight suit before rummaging in the metal crate for an all tempurature cloak and points at it. "I can help you. Yes." He really wishes the vox boxes had more options.

Per: 1D20+6 = [8]+6 = 14

(Nuw's glowing eyes would also be visible to everybody else)

Nuw tries to poke his head out of a window, but finds that it is actually a really really big door. He pushes against it, but it doesn't budge under his efforts.

*You all have darkvision, except Q who can see just fine, so you aren't completely in the dark.*

Q, you've heard of the Gree from old smugglers and treasure seekers who sought that one last big score. The Gree had created technology that to this day still couldn't be matched, and this technology was sought after for its rarity and worth. You also know that they are an ancient species, having existed some 100,000 years before the original galactic republic ever existed.

Yan tries to remember what he's heard about the ancient Gree. Something about them had seemed to get Suspicious Sal and Co. mightily interested. Or had it been something that junk dealer with the "ancient" amulets that had looked suspiciously like re-purposed droid parts had said....

Rando remembers about what Q remembers, Yan remembers hearing about the fact that back in the days before hyperspace was as widespread the Gree had constructed massive gates on various planets which allowed them to open a small hyper-gate from one location to another, almost instantaneously. From what you can piece together, what you just walked through was one such gate.
